I had a storage building in the City, i lived in my pick up truck with 4 dogs that kept me warm in Winter. I had paid $350.00 ahead of becoming homeless for a 9 x 10 unit for one year. I kept my dirty laundry there until i had enough money gathered to wash it. I used vinegar to wash my body and hair and i used to sit at restaurants to drink 50 cups of coffee for 0.95 cents while using their electricity to charge up my phone.

I have been an outdoors fanatic all my life, and hunting and fishing, along with camping, and other activities, have become like second nature. I have studied and practiced survival all of my life as well so, actually, the only way that I could be more prepared, is to actually be able to afford all of the tools and supplies needed. That seems to be a big problem with a lot of families now. Most of our money goes on gas and food. Beside the regular, monthly bill payments.

Way to go to probably raise a paranoid schizophrenic or Una-bomber if the world doesn't end soon enough, because if it doesn't end that creates an internal conflict that daddy was wrong.

This really was a great series. It would be nice to see an updated series.
I believe that the main rule of Prepping should be = " DO NOT TELL ABOUT OR ADVERTISE YOUR PREPS !!! " There are far too many that spend their money on toys/ holidays, & ignore any form of food storage. Thinking = " I will get what I need from Joe down the road. " When Joe only has what is needed for his family, not the neighbors.
When S.H.T.F. there will be chaos on so many levels. There will be - Those That Have, Those That Have Not, & Those That Will Take From Those That Have By Force.
With the recent COVID Pandemic, everyone should be aware of the need to have at least a 3-month food supply in storage. Having the basics [ rice, beans, spices, pasta, & water ] will get a person through the rough times.
That means also medical, sanitary [ T.P., Laundry Det., Garbage Bags, & other items ] Fuel, Bar-B-Q Brickets, & other items as needed per household.
As for T.P., After some observation, a family of 4 [ 2 adults & 2 teenagers ] the family will use 1 double roll per person per week.Or in other words 4 double rolls per week. The quality will also make a big difference, going cheap might cost more in the long run. [ no pun intended ]

There are lots of people still calling preppers crazy. They've spent over 20 years preparing for something that isn't actually any closer to happening. Even if society is going to end they should probably enjoy it a little more while it lasts. There will be plenty of time to live like a hermit after society collapses.
It is an interesting lifestyle he has but you could say the same thing about the amish. The amish aren't going to miss society when it's gone either.

Preppers think a lot about what happens if a rather unlikely disaster strikes. But not about what happens if it doesnt. Prepping is a huge expense in regard of time, money and focus. You could spend that studying, getting a degree and/or a better job. In general that leads to more wealth, which is one of the best protections from most sorts of bad situations.

The 2 families with the gasifier and 50+ acres are on point. The "expert" telling them to be less visible is wrong; sometimes being too hidden makes you more of a target than being far enough in the country to avoid major traffic but still around other, similar properties.
The biggest, most important prep is planning and knowledge. Having a solid defensive plan and the tools to implement it is vital.
I wish they would revisit these folks now.

There are additives you can add to get more life out of it, not sure on specifics but yes gas is limited to a fairly short shelf life. Most people still use fuel so the rotate thier stock, then of supply dries up they have the freshest possible.

I have a friend n he bought a big 0ropane tank mounted it on wheels w a tow kit only he has it rigged so you'd never see it. But if need be he can hitch it up n take off. It's next to his garage. He cut the end off the propane tank n welded hinges on n locks. He brings his stores in hidden under the pickup truck cap. He takes the store out via hand truck then right out the side garage door then into the tank and up on the welded in-place shelves . He left room for a couple bunks. Noone sees it as its fenced in n his mastiff guards the back yard. He calls the tank his Trojan horse or TH for short. If he needs to bug out he just takes off to his xmall farm on the mountain..Noone even knows he's a prepper.
