I feel so relieved I’m not the only one who has a horse show checklist chant! Good to know I’m not the only one! Thank you Holly for this amazing second VLOGMAS video! Rocky is looking fab!
You and Rocky look super fit and ready for the ring. Rocky looks better and better each time I see him. I have totally fallen in love with him - such a good, honest boyo.
Yeah I heard the same thing about oil on hot days. I think it also causes sun burn. People used to smother themselves in baby oil to get a tan (ouch), so I can see how it would burn on a really hot day.
@@NoThankUBeQuiet everyone is different and depends on where you're from and what discipline you do. Here in Australia, the show horse classes are very competitive and everyone uses makeup. To the point where you simply wouldn't get a second look from the judge without it most of the time. I personally don't bother as a show jumper, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Brilliant Holly, I love watching your videos. I am interested to find out how often you ride, Rocky is going so well and what a transformation from when you first bought him. It is not easy fitting riding, training, blogging and showing around a demanding full time job. You must be wonder woman x 😊🌟
I will ride Rocky every day leading up to a show because that’s the best way to have him relaxed and going his best. But it is definitely difficult to find time sometimes!
Yes, baby oil can also cause burns in intense heat/sun, a creamy spf could potentially get the same effect, at least it looks shiny on my skin but a little less tempting to put too close to the eyes. Stay safe!
So as a dressage person who doesn't wear gloves I think it's only required at upper levels and by then you should be using white gloves (yikes) if not required definitely customary
Yes when I got to the show, there were plenty of other people not wearing gloves so I relaxed! Luckily I don’t think we’ll be doing high level dressage any time soon so we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it 😅
Holly, I honestly believe that Rocky looks better every time we see him.
I agree. He has been fortunate to choose Holly. Smart boy!
Agree, he looks so much more athletic now.

omg I love seeing how far rocky has come since you first got him, he’s such a handsome little man 😭😭🥺
You are a such good rider but i have a question do u
Wash the bit ? Thanks ♥️🐴
I've never shown (just pleasure ride) but I enjoyed this! Greetings from a very cold and snowy, Saskatchewan Canada! 🇨🇦
I'm also from saskatchewan!! Definitely jealous of Holly's weather right about now 😅😅

Thank you! (So have I 🥺)

Rocky is looking so fit and relaxed. You’ve worked wonders with him
So happy You're back. I love watching your work with horses.
Love this, Holly. Wow, Rocky is sure fit. He looks magnificent. Good luck (even though you're already done)!
This was truly satisfying video! Nice to have you back Holly. I hope the show vlogs are going to come soon too :P Greetings from frozen Norway :D
I love these types of vlogs. Informative and interesting.
It's definitely true about the baby oil, best to use an equine clear highlight makeup.
I've never understood using anything it just looks weird. Cornstarch on white markings and leave it there.

My dad once forgot to bring the horse. They were together and they both thought the other one had put the horse on the truck 😂
Omg!!! 😂😂
Iittle tip: I always find that braiding underneath (Dutch braid) instead of the normal over eachother braid makes the best competition braids. 😊
Really? I used to plait that way but found my plaits have improved since switching. Everyone finds different things better I guess!
Thank you so much for keeping up with videos! You put so much effort into all of them ❤
Deffo a "no" on the baby oil (or any other oil) in hot, sunny, weather.
What a handsome boy! Can’t wait to see the show vlog! ❤❤❤

Rocky looks so good! For one of the days in vlogmas (coming up) could you make an updated day in your life as a vet video please! Would love to see
That is definitely coming!
Rocky looks in tip top condition 🥰
So helpful, have my first show in a week!
Best of luck!
He is a very fit looking horse!
What brand of saddle do you ride rocky in.
Do you use the same on your horses in Ireland?
No I got a cheaper saddle here than the one I use at home in Ireland. It’s a collegiate
Do you pack sunscreen for yourself? :)
Rocky is always so shiny. Will you send him home to Ireland when you move?
Unfortunately no it’s too expensive to ship him to irelabd

Why do you have to take out such simple piercings for pony club?
Just the rules! They’re very into health and safety
Great x
Plz help me to have boots size 45
yup! you do need to wear gloves for dressage and at higher levels they must be white
It's customary but I don't think it's actually REQUIRED until the upper levels. Confirmed at least where I live they are only required in FEI classes
@@NoThankUBeQuiet In New Zealand under ESNZ it is. I’m not sure about australia tho, but the rules are usually pretty similar
