  • On our continuing quest for the NE67, we went to Camel’s Hump. We took the Burrows Trail all the way. It is a popular trail and the erosion shows that. It’s a short 2.1 miles to the opening, then we took the Long Trail the remaining 0.3 miles to the summit. The views should be fantastic, but the haze is overpowering them somewhat, we think it might be the wild fires out west.
We came down the opposite side of the summit to get to the Alpine Trail so we could search for the B24 plane crash site. We were able to find the location of both wings, then we took the Monroe Trail back up to the hut clearing. Taking the Burrows Trail back down seemed longer than 2.1 miles, but we did just do a 12+ mile hike the day before so we were tried. 

Congrats on #52! All you have left in VT are Killington and Mansfield, right? Both are fun peaks, especially Mansfield.

+hiker0200 Thanks Spencer. Yup just those two left in Vermont, we plan to finish those two soon, then we'll concentrate on Maine next year.

Very Nice guys! Hey, ya know, I went out with a girl named Karen Boulder in High School 2:00 ....no kidding! Nice memorial for the crew of the plane that crashed there.

In the summer of 1980, a group of us 11th graders from Richmond Virginia completed The Long Trail in 33 days, End 2 End.

I want to hike that route to catch a sunrise. Is that safe or a dumb idea. I’m not sure how difficult it is in the dark with flash lights and I know best country so I have to take that into considerAtion . Any comments are welcome in going up there next week !

We have never done a night hike, so I don't really want to say one way or another, but I suppose with the right lighting, but not really sure. Sorry.
