What puzzles me is that this young lady does all the "iron works" when competing in official dressage events - but she is a true advocate of the contrary; love to watch her at this!
Coco Chanelleke yeah, i don't understand why people who can ride their horses perfectly without any tack still ride with bits sometimes, they clearly don't need it so then why use it?
Coco Chanelleke Using a bit and spurs does not have to be harsh - when used correctly they are tools for communication, not control. So using them when she rides in recognized shows does not mean she's not adhering to her beliefs, it just means she knows how to use them correctly - as communication tools. I've often heard said that if you let go of the reins and your horse can not naturally stay in a state of collection, then get out of the show ring and back to training so your horse can gain the strength needed to use his body correctly without you forcing him into position.
***** Metal in the mouth and the sides of a horse stems from post-modern warfare. It is not necessary anymore, as horses are no longer used in warfare.
Come on people. Stop being afraid. Go bitless. You can achieve heights you never thought possible. Your horsemanship will grow. Your horse's respect for you will strengthen.
This actually made me so happy that I cried. I'm supporting Uta Gräf already for her way to ride and train Grand Prix horses but this is just beautiful. Poor creatures trained with hyperflexion. This horse here looks happier than any other professional dressage horse I've ever seen. Great rider, wish I could ride like that... Amazing communication. Thank you for sharing...
Shelly -- did you get that verbiage from a book? I breed and sell dressage horses (and to some upper level riders) so I am very familiar with how a dressage horse is trained. First of all, the woman in the video competes in dressage ( I believe in GP) on this horse using the standard tack: saddle, bridle, bit. The horse (who IS lovely and beautifully trained...with a bit) is familiar with all the movement and at this point in his training he is taking most of his cues from the seat & leg. To perform these movements does require self-carriage & engagement, but that has to be taught. And to TEACH these things requires (among other things) a precision that would be impossible to do with just a neck rope. ALL bridleless work in any discipline is taught using a bit first, then once the horse is solid responding to just leg/seat aids, they can transition to a neck rope. This is stunningly beautiful work and very impressive, but people need to understand a bit was involved in the training...as someone else commented, a bit does not need to be harsh or cruel. Like any tool, it is only as good as the hand that wields it.
Beautiful!!! A true inspiration to all riders. The quotes: "yet at some point of our lives, while our road seemed all mapped out we lose control of our lives this is that precise moment that destiny chooses to resume his duties to get us back on the path that we had distanced and remind us of our childhood oaths"
This is AMAZING! it goes to show that you don't need a harsh bit and hype reflexion to do this. This is truly incredible. This blew my mind. Such a talented horse and rider 😍
Just stunning! I wish every "profesional" Dressage rider & all othe cruel horse abuser would see this video. You're the best example for teamwork! Thank you for sharing it with us! Absolutely beautiful & just perfect! :-)
I´m speechless!!! I think this is the most amazing briddleless ride I´ve ever seen :) What a perfect movement! You two are an amazing team!!! Of course I subsribed, in my opinion you deserve thousands more subscribers :)
Simply stunning .. no bit, no spurs but just the bond and the communication between rider and horse. Thank you for sharing this and thank you for letting us be part of this
Genau so!
I'm totally impressed. I haven't expected that these taff exercises could be ridden nearly without anything. I like to thank you because I want to do this with my horse. So you have given me a goal :) It's stunning how perfect you and your horse are working together. Your can really say that you two are a real team and maybe the only youtube- dressage rider that have understood how to work with his horse. Because in my opinion it's all about trust and a real good education - Although you are riding high dressage exercises- And I think you have both. Real good work I'm taking my hat off.
Wow. How lovely to see such connection and such beautiful balance. When dressage people talk about connection, this is what they should be discussing, not how much "weight is in the rein." ; )
Louise Branchaud
Just beautiful. I hope many dressage riders see this. This is horsemanship at its best and possible for any rider and horse. Horses are keen to learn they just need to be understood and guided with love, patience and understanding. There is no brutality in this demonstration, no nasty bits, whips, spurs. The perfect dressage, natural and free. Wonderful.
I think what this does is show (yet again) that heavy bridling, bits and saddles that 'wedge' riders onto the horse are not needed to effect high quality dressage. Well done :-)
I like the video, but the slow motion just drove me insane. Also, I think the music was a bit over kill- this isn't magic, just a different type of riding and training that a lot of people aren't used to. That being said, very impressive! I love seeing more and more in the dressage community going tack-less.
Lovely, but people need to realize this horse wasn't trained with just a cord. Bridle-less riding takes years of training WITH a bridle & bit prior to transitioning to just the neck band.
does not need to be trained with a bit at all...it all comes from good engagement of the hindquarters. This person 'may' have trained with a bit but it's not a pre-requisite for a good self-carriage....it is exactly what is says 'self-carriage' ;)

beautiful, that's how dressage should always be! no harsh bits, no spurs, no hyperflexion, just trust and communication.

I wish the competitions were like this. When you dance with a human you don't control them. It should be the same with horses. T.T
Coco Chanelleke

And the Olympic Gold Medal goes to... Mistral!
This is SUCH better horsemanship than we are subjected to from FEI.
If you brought your horse to that level without whip, bit, or spur, you have my undying respect Alizee.

+Snow Angel Studios One does not need any kind of bit.

CONFIDENCE and PASSION in this dancing horse! WOW! I am tearing up. Beautiful, just the most beautiful ride.

Wow. How lovely to see such connection and such beautiful balance. When dressage people talk about connection, this is what they should be discussing, not how much "weight is in the rein." ; )
Absolutely amazing, a good example of how a relationship between a horse and rider should look!
Louise Branchaud

Reiten in Perfektion!

Very beautiful. Wonder if this horse was also learnt/taught all of it without saddle/bridle...
Magnifique. Que certain en prennent de la graine
Absolute incredible and amazing
Well done, the slow mo helps us see technique better. Thanks for sharing.
blown away. really makes you wonder what all the equipment is for, right?
Wow! You're amazing! I wish that some day I could do something like this
This is really great and hard work!!
C'est incroyable ça..
Awesomeness and pure harmony
