Miz Jorge is a singing, song-writing, composing princess.
Her rare, bright, soft toned voice cannot fit in a box.
PrinSess is a versatile artist, born from an Angolese father and a French mother, she was nourrished and thought both the european and the african ways. The multi-cultural environment she grew up in has fueled her curiosity for all musics.
After going back and forth between Lisbonn and Paris, she set herself to study music in the french capital. Being a perfectionist, she decided to train in styles ranging from jazz, to opera, to samba, to rock, and soul, the list goes on..
She graduates from : CIM, Asnières-Gennevilliers, Beauvais and Paris 9th conservatories, between 1996 and 2006 and becomes a chorist for Gospel pour 100 voix, Durand d'Avril, Modogo...
Along the path she founds Alerta G. with the cream of the crop of the new generation of french, bulgarian and korean jazzmen and women. The band will eventually win one of the most recognized prices in jazz today, the Prix Fnac du Concours de Jazz de la Défense in 2001.
Miz Jorge then continues her journey of musical exploration through various collaborations : Manu Codjia, Erik Truffaz, Youn Sun Nah, Stéfanus Vivens, Médéric Collignon, Magic Malik, Julien Lourau...
In 2008, PrinSess puts together Voicelink, a powerful duo with Selmer artist, Raul Colosimo. Together, they will launch their eponym CD, in 2011. Led by a powerful voice and a surreal bass-clarinet sound, the declassified classics are a hit, and leads the « Voicelink » project to top 5 of the charts on itunes Italy, Australia and New Zealand. The disc also received several prizes from the Fnac and from Selmer Paris and won an award at the Rocella Jazz Festival.
After two years of concerts in Italy, the two accomplished musicians decided to go their own ways...
PrinSess, always with a finger on the heart beat of the city and ahead of trends, has begun some house collaborations with a string of the biggest producers in Europe and in the world.
The first tracks of the project « House around The World » is baking and it should be hot out of the oven for spring ! Miz Jorge is lending her soulfoul tone to deep, vocal and afro house, and it sounds delicious !
