+Leigh Duxbury A very large majority of guitar pedal companies are run by guitar players, yes, or at least people who have a good enough understanding of the instrument (cause really, it would be incredibly difficult to make something meant for a guitar if you've never even played one before), but the original poster was just making a joke. Most people know that Hammet done goofed when he said what he said.

Which compression setting is generally better for always on tightening for rhythm playing? My gut says 1 and then 3 would be to boost for leads? Is that right?

I have to be honest, I didn't really hear a difference in all of the knob turning and switch flipping. Aside from engaging it obviously. Is it all really necessary or is it really amp specific? I'd love to hear it with different amps as you mention.

Hey Fluff I'm too not big on pedals yet, which pedal would you recommend for a monster 90s tallica tone, the kh ghoul screamer or the Mesa boogie 5 band eq pedal? I have a dual rec 3 channel and a jcm900 4x12 cab
I'd say just play with the EQ of your amp as is now. With what you have right now, that's pretty much the basis of what Metallica used back in the 90s.
I HAVE THE GOUL SCREAMER AND YOU DONT REALLY GET A METALLICA TONE, IS YOU WANTS A DUAL REC SOUND GET A ROCKTRON ZOMBIE, CAN GET THEM 40 TO $50 USED ALL DAY, OR GET THE MESA THROTTLE BOX, EITHER THE REGULAR ONE OR THE ONE WITH THE 5 BAND EQ TOO, ROB CHAPMAN HAS A VIDEO WHERE THEY DEMO 4 MESA PEDALS BUT THE LAST ONE HE DOES IS THE THROTTLE BOX, AND THE GUY PETE WAS WORKING FFOR MESA AT THE TME AND HE DIALED IN A "DUAL REC" TONE THAT WAS PRETTY SPOT ON
HAVING A EQ PEDAL ALWAYS HELPS TOO, I WOULD GET THE REGULAR THROTTLE BOX AND GET A SEPERATE EQ SO YOU CAN USE IT WITH OTHER PEDALS AND AMPS AND NOT JUST THE THROTTLE BOX IF YOU GO THAT WAY BUT THE ROCKTRON ZOMBIE AND A BOSS GE-7 OR MXR 10 BAND EQ WILL DO THE SAME THING FOR ABOUT $200 CHEAPER, WHATEVER EQ PEDAL YOU GET MAKE SURE IT HAS A LEVEL CONTROL ON IT THOUGH

The pedal looks and sounds pretty sweet, but i gotta ask: how the hell are they justifying a $230 price tag?? lol I get that it's marketed from Kirt Hammet and all but man that is a really high price for a pedal.
If i have to pay that much because it's made in the US, i'll stick to my Japanese pedals lol. Heck, i have some Joyo pedals from China that kick ass and are only like, $40. If ima spend that kinda money, i'd save up a bit more and just get a tube amp (which i gotta do anyway but that's beside the point lol)
+Eric Faries Do you find that Joyo pedals are kind of... cheaply built? I'm not trying to internet battle here... ya'll act like I punched your baby when someone insults your choice of gear or whatever, I'm just asking sincerely for an opinion
So far i've liked the build quality of the Joyo pedals. The casing is solid, made of medal, the knobs are standard hard plastic like what i've seen on every pedal i've picked up. The button is solid. So far haven't had any issues. Only thing i wish they'd do is add a battery slot for some of the pedals, but that's a nit pick for me.

Nice pedal...seems very versatile, as much as a screamer pedal could be. It seems like an ideal pedal to take on the road, say in situations where you might have to use a random back line. Also, I've missed the Schecter.

Not being a troll, but can see why Jared wears a hat all the time, new hairstyle would do him more justice imo, but honestly doesn't matter was just shocked to see him wo hat on
What preamp do you use?
May i recommend that maybe use a cleaner channel to demo the overdrive / distortion pedals, using a highly driven amp / channel is really hard to hear the dynamics on what the pedal is really doing.

I don't know if I should call you Ryan or Fluff. I don't have a Guitar Center that is close by, as I live out in the sticks. I am pricing out gear: bass+amp+cab, guitars+amp+cab, HeadRush pedal board, mics, cymbals, new double pedals, etc. I was wondering what your interface is into your computer. I also don't have monitors, and there are so darn many. I've listened to a lot of your videos, Jared's videos, Leo's, Bea's, Rob's and I friggin love the sounds you guys get.
Any suggestions? I've looked into some of the gear that Leo suggested, like the Studio amp he uses, and I'm in analysis paralysis.
Shouldnt that Ares get a great heavy tone without a boost? For the price and description of some of these amps, it really bugs me that a boost pedal is STILL needed.
