Hi, normally I no longer offer help or make help videos as it is not appreciated these days so this is a exception as you seem a nice person. There are two versions of this card, red and blue. Blue works way better is not as fussy. I imagine you did supply voltage to both the card and the drive, should of worked if sufficient current. If running sata to ide dont use twisted cable, ensure ide set to master. Now a better way is to buy a ide to sd or a sata to sd depending on what you want. They recommend 128gb max but I tested 512gb works fine. Don't think 1tb, they all scams even though they do exist they way too expensive $120+ for a genuine. Note we talking SD not SSD. SSD is another ball game.
@wamperth Hey thanks for your comment and your input. These computers I fix up and give away to people in the Philippines mostly students who are needy and can't afford to buy a computer . That's why I don't want to spend a lot of money on them to fix them up. I give them at least a 250 GB hard drive. Or maybe at 500 GB hard drive. They're not going to be using these computers like we do all they're going to be using it for a school work. I appreciate what's you've said
For some that have trouble: 137 GB was standard ide max, extended to 1tb but was replaced by sata. Some older machines could not load large GB drives, due to bios, however X used to have software that bypassed these limitations. I have a old baby running a 1TB drive and a 512GB sd drive with Win 98 upgraded from win 95. Was going to give link for X but there are so many versions and most was drive oem specific so would need info, too hard. I hardly ever use YT since it's adds crazy, too frustrating.
@wamperth I know what you mean about the ads on youtube. It's crazy man. Anyhow UA-cam was the original. I appreciate the time you've taken for your comments. I'm just fixing up these computers to give them away so I'm not really going to much trouble. Thanks for your input. Have a great day bro
@RickyOcarina Hey, thanks for watching my videos and for your comments. Windows 98 is really ancient. I'm not sure if this setup will work with Windows 98. You'll have to do your own trial and error to see. Can you let me know if the motherboard can handle anything above that. Can you try to put Windows XP on it and then upgrade to Windows 7? Your 150 GB SATA hard drive is a good size for an older computer. Do you have access to Windows XP and Windows 7 installation discs? Let me know how you make out
i got a problem, my pc doesn't recognize the hard drive disk, and the ide adapter too, what can i do in that case? i have it plugged in with all the cables and colors correctly, thanks!!
Hey thank you for watching my videos on for your comments. There are a lot of variables. You see I had a hard time doing mine as well. It could be anything like your processor the Windows operating system you're running the size of the hard drive. Sometimes if the hard drive is too large the operating system on the processor won't be able to recognize it. That's why you see in my video I tried a few full size hard drives which did not work. In the end I got the PC to recognize that laptop hard drive. That's when I made my housing to fit it into the computer Bay. Sorry but I really can't put my finger on what could be the trouble you're running into. You will have to try a few things and experiment. Good luck and have a great day
Hello and greetings.. thank you for watching my videos and for your comments I bought this from www.temu.com It depends on what country you're from where you will have to shop to get this or is similar item. Temu does not deliver to India if that's where you're living. Maybe eBay or some other website will do but you will have to know what website serve your area. Sorry I'm not able to help you out very much. If you're able to find something kindly share the information So Others May benefit as well thank you very much and have a great day
