Hey, Mactics! Love your content. I'd like to ask you to revisit the Solar Titan playbook when you have some time. It changed my way to play and got me started on Destiny buildcrafting and just the game in general. I think I could manage a way to make it work (not that Solar Titan needed much haha) but I'd love to see your input on it! Keep up the amazing work, mate!
Do you mind pinning a comment stating that reaper has been disabled? Couple comments here have asked about it so far and I looked into it, just disabled apparently.
the mod system weirdly feels like a nerf but also made it more streamlined. the fact they removed the +20 mob from powerful friends really hurt hunters. we already have to choose between the top 3 stats and mobility is useless to the other two classes. hopefully they buff it or address it at some point.
I mean they kinda "buffed" the tier 9 and 8 of stats like for example resilience tier 9 gives like 27% compared to tier 10 30% , so thats 3% that imo i you can just ditch and replace with 10+ mobility "which cost less than resilience now" im going to guess the rest of the stats got the same treatment so this change ONLY hurts you if you insist only going triple tier 10s for a very very small boost
So far I'm a fan of using solely depreciating armor charge mods (the blue ones), because combining them doesn't make the armor charge stacks drain any faster but you get all the benefits.
@@ASpaceOstrich If you use a single copy of Time Dilation and Stacks on Stacks, picking up an Orb gives you 2 charges at once and both charges last for 15 seconds, meaning you go from 10 seconds of buffs from a single orb to 30 seconds of buffs. If you equip Charge Up to have another maximum charge, then picking up 2 orbs puts you at 4 stacks and a whole minute of buffs.
We definitely need to see exactly how big of an effect it has though. I doubt it's like Font of Wisdom where it set your Intellect to 100 for the time duration and called it a day, because otherwise they wouldn't be stackable. What I could see them doing is a +10, +6, +4 pattern where you can get up to +20 total with full investment though.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but I did testing on the "Font of [Stat]" mods. The first copy of the mod gives +30 to that stat, the second copy gives +20, and the third gives +10, for a stat boost total of +30/+50/+60 for 1/2/3 copies of the mod, respectively. I think the Dis/Int/Str mods are almost completely worthless, as most of our ability energy will come from orb pick up and mod/perk ability generation. However, the Font of Endurance mod gives +30 resilience while you have stacks of Armor Charge. Since the blue armor mods don't take time away from the other, Font of Endurance is really really easy to slot in for an almost permanent +30 resilience. Pretty much all of my builds are now set to T7 resilience, and I use FoE to cover the rest.
Simple and straight to the point. Couldn't have asked for a better tutorial. Lightfall really did screw up a lot of things for building but brought much more to have fun with
Can't imagine the crunch required to get some solid game time in AND get a video out in a timely manner. Good job man! Sending this to my buddy who can't play until next week.
Hawk moon slaps the tits off everything hard, & the sweet business is actually great at add clear & keeping everyone swimming in orbs. Though I think I’m probably going to switch over to an arc weapon build & pair it with my striker titan Grand Overture combo. Edit: I also forgot the Arbalest is also pretty nice.
Yeah, previously the lack of benefit from Font of Might and Elemental Burn for Kinetic damage was a big downside in PvE. For that reason, Arbalest or Witherhoard typically made their home in that slot for pure utility reasons. Now that we can boost them with Kinetic mods, not to mention that any Kinetic also gets the +25% Overcharge if your subclass matches the Surging element for the day, they're a viable source of raw damage output now.
Thanks for always making the information easier to understand. I really enjoyed your build prior to Lightfall. I'm eager to see the new and update version of them post-Lightfall.
Thank you sooo much Mactics, was overwhelmed with changes (even with the non-elemental simplification)! Also, a good video guide to do (and you may have planned already by comment on the end of this vid) is the top builds from each class from last season tweaked with these mods.
I miss elemental well mods for sure. They are needed as this new system feels lackluster. I like what they did, but it's still rough lol. I hope they bring them back. Thank you for this and i hope to see more builds soon because that HOIL nerf hurt lol :)
Loving the in game loadout system and I really appreciate you providing numbers for some of these mods so quickly. My 24hr hot take *** I think the mod system was streamlined in some great ways but it feels less diverse, like you either build for ability or weapons. No in between. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but I’m already hoping they have systems in place to add things like they do w/ aspects and fragments cause we just lost a lot of utility/diversity the elemental well mods provided elemental shards for stasis being a great example. That or they’re going to need to buff more exotics to provide inherit gameplay loops like hunter gyrfalcons does
I've been playing around with Empowering finisher and it has some serious potential. It stacks with itself and stacks on stacks. So with a setup of two empowering finishers and stacks on stacks I can get 3 armor charges with 1 finisher. In an attempt to remake Imagine's stasis turret build I used the above setup and three grenade kickstart mods. Three armor charges and three kickstarts will give you half of a grenade back, so you can loop together finishers, demo fusion rifle kills, and stasis turret deployments to get lots of turrets on the field. It's the most reliable way of getting armor charges imo, and I'm most likely going to use this set up to facilitate many future builds that focus on ability usage. Using it to jumpstart a period of surge damage isn't a bad idea either. Also worth noting that, depending on the difficulty of the content you're in and your weapon setup, getting 1 finisher may be more manageable then making and picking up an orb. Tougher enemies are harder to multi-kill, may drop orbs in dangerous spots, and team shooting can make it unpreditcable who will get kills.
The basics of this were very helpful and gave me an idea on how to get my Void Titan back in working order after the changes. Thanks for digging in and doing the challenging work on this as always Mactics! I look forward to what else this new system can offer and the exotics, fragments, and aspects that will continue to shape build crafting going forward! Again appreciate the heavy lifting on your end as well. Helps out a lot for those of use with the RL obligations going on!
thanks for helping make sense of the changes!! very helpful video, went ahead and subscribed as well bc I’ve been watching more and more of your content lately
This was very useful, thanks! I've been trying to wrap my head around the new system and this really helped me get a better larger picture view of it all.
Thank you Mactics for this video. My builds were completely messed up when I got into lightfall. This helped me to recreate my build the way I like it.
I'm honestly glad the armor mods have changed. I was mostly using the same things on everything except for very specific builds. Then again none of it really mattered anyway because wells just straight up gave so much ability regen.
Appreciate the video. When I signed in last night the whole system change with mods felt a little overwhelming considering I’ve barely started learning about using builds in Destiny instead of just throwing on what I thought looked good for me.
I'm jumping back into destiny after some time away and I really appreciate this video. Tbh I'm actually pretty happy with the changes they made but maybe that's because I was never huge into the build stuff to begin with.
@Mactics One thing I've noticed, is that if you activate the energy reduction perks in the artifact AFTER slotting the mod, it doesn't reduce the mod slotted, you need to go back in and reselect the now reduced energy version of the mod.
Looking forward to your breakdown of Omnioculous Voidstalker and Assassins Cowl Arcstrider. Transforming the wells build into the Orbs and armor charge build. We'll see you out there techeuns.
Great info! I like the new system only bc it’s more streamlined. But also feel like it’s not as powerful or as “exotic” like before. It was cool having options of going with wells, charged with light, or warmine cells. Also don’t like the timer of the armor charges.
Honestly, it's evident that you've put so much work into your videos, yet it feels that so many have kinda become obsolete with the changes. I feel for you man. However, you're my go-to for builds! Don't get bogged down. Keep going. We'll absolutely keep coming back!
Honestly I like the new mod setup. We lost a bunch of mods sure, but honestly a lot of them weren't used by like anybody. It was only ever artifact mods, which we still have, and exotics that really defined builds, and most mods just served to generate resources faster for those builds. Like the only build I can think of that is straight up dead because of the change is that silly Dance Machines/Energy Converter build Cross has set up.
The font mods give you 3 tiers of that stat. If you're already at tier 10, you're not going to notice anything. If you're at tier 7, it'll push you to tier 10. If you're at tier 9 for example, all its doing is pushing you to tier 10. It is not going to reduce your cooldowns any further past what it would be at tier 10.
Thanks for getting this up so quick, Mac! Having some solid info about the impact of certain mods on timers and stats is crucial. Disappointed to hear the font mods aren't doing great since passive buffs are my jam.
I'm enjoying the new system so far. I just started playing actively a month or so ago and the game was plenty overwhelming without trying to learn how all the mod stuff worked. That said, I completely understand the longer term players feeling like this was dumbed down too much. And I can agree that the game should cater to it's audience, maybe not a newer player like me. Great video! Helped me put a couple things together that I was feeling when trying different mods but couldn't quite figure out why it wasn't working.
Thank you for coming in so hot with the new mod guide! I knew I couldn't jump to any conclusions about this new system until I saw some content creators share their feedback! Much appreciated!
Wow this was well put together and articulated. I was honestly lost trying to figure out how to combine the mods with this new system and this vid helped to clarify a lot of the questions I had. Thank you, worth the subscribe.
Very well done and organized. It's good to know how the multiple mods stack and work. That tip any team scout mods is def going in the discord with the video. 👍 Thanks for the time investment to make this. Randomly select me... Randomly select me! Come on RNGeezus Randomly select me! Fantastic video. Very clear and succinct. And finally some confirmation on the (blue) passive stat mods - it certainly doesn't feel like they do anything. I'm glad to be given some confirmation and now I can focus on surge mods in their place.

idk if anyone has already said this but the blue stat boosts only apply if you don't already have T10 so for an example if you have T6 of a stat it would boost it to T10 for that time.
NGL, Yesterday night when I got home, before lunching Destiny 2. I went to check your channel to see if you already created a video, figured a build by myself and low and behold you got a video out 11 minutes ago, thanks Mactics!!!
This video really helps. I had mixed yellow with blue mods, didn't see that heavy handed or firepower were white mods, and didn't know the ability regen mods were that underpowered. I know there was some early hate on the new system but I think people are still just learning it. I do wish they'd just show the numbers and percentages of exactly what one or multiple mods do. Laying that out in a GUI would be some work to get it right but I'm sure most people are using this system wrong.
The boy Mactics ALWAYS saves my mental with these videos!! I can't wait for a remade Omnioculus build guide and some more hidden info on the new mod system!
I’m hoping that this is a case of streamlining and resetting a little before fleshing out the system more as time goes on. Things were great in terms of what we could build, but were also a slight mess between different systems and elemental affinities etc. The biggest change I’m not find of are having mods limited to specific armour pieces, but I can see the thinking behind it with the way we can stack mods in any slot in their armour piece. If nothing else I’m at least glad to have this awesome mod customisation screen and load out system. This video has been great by the way! Some of the things you’ve pointed out about some mods were things I didn’t know about, super helpful!
Always worth a watch, great video explaining the basics on the new mod system. Appreciate the time and efforts to get these videos out. So disappointed my Mactics Hunter Omni build seemed to have been ripped apart, but you show we need to have faith and give it some time. Looking forward to the new build videos seeing what Bungie does with mods, and exploring what is possible.
If you have mod questions about specific builds or any destiny questions at all come ask me them in my livestream: twitch.tv/mactics

Powerful friends is the best mod in the entire new system... The buff to it far outweighs 20 mobility. Just run low recovery, it's not a big deal.
@MadJester I would rather take the plus 20 mobility over anything it does now
It’s the split between PvE and PvP. New is better in PvE if everyone is using it.
It’s useless in PvP.
Simplicity ain't always the best the old sistem was more complicated but allowed way more options

Ooh. My lizard brain was like "they drain over time, eeeeew" but I might have to try that out because stacking a million buffs would be pretty neat.

thank you so so much!
