Looking at Robert’s website, it looks as though the 2nd edition of the Tarot of the sevenfold mystery does come in this improved format ie: cloth covered box, gilded edges, matte stock.
Absolutely beautiful. This deck has been on my Wishlist since it’s release but with the postage to Australia costing more than the deck itself, I just can’t justify as yet.
This deck made my heart race a bit. That never happens. I think this is a must buy since I don't have it yet anyway!!! I have not used Alchemical Chart for my readings yet, I would love to hear how that influences the cards

It’s interesting to see the chariot from behind lol. Loving the hermit card! The star card reminds me of the starbucks logo bwahaha. The knight of vessels reminds me of the tin man. But over all awesome deck!
Okay, here is a laugh out loud for you...I’m watching and I see what looks like the Devil card and through your hand I see the word Congratulation!!! Lol! Not Coagulation! (And I know this deck...lol)
it's nice that Mr. Place has reissued this deck with what I'm assuming is nicer card stock....and a better box. Disappointed to hear that the coloration is duller. This deck is in my top 10 favorites, so I may pick it up as a back up. I would suggest the book that goes with this deck. His books are a must in my library. Thank you for the walk through, Simon!
Hi, I have the 4th and 5th edition and the color difference is pretty minimal...the great box, cardstock, gilding - excellent improvements. I think it's the best version yet!
Thanks for reminding me of this deck. I have it (the old version) and I absolutely love it...but I don’t reach for it as often as I should because it is a slightly different system & requires more digging around for messages. You are such a great resource, Simon. Just terrific!

Awe man... I totally would have jumped at the 5th Ed with the gilded edges and the box but the I like the more saturated pop of color in the 4th Ed. You gave me a good idea of edging it that really pretty color though... I think I can live with that and bypass the 5th Ed. Thanks!

I bought the 1st edition when it was new in the stores. Now I'm finally making my way through the book you mentioned. When you do get it you absolutely should get it with the book! It's wonderful!

I hope you won't mind me correcting something you said. It has not been around for 33 years. He did begin work on it in 1987, but it wasn't published until c. 1995/96.
I’m going to have to order this deck soon... when I was at university I took an alchemy class in place of the usual chemistry class and this deck is calling me now 😍 it reminds me of the artwork I studied for the class, since the original alchemy texts were pictorial with no writing, and if you wanted to be an alchemist you had to learn how to decipher the pictures first. Each image was a step in the creation process of making the philosophers stone, the process in reality was meant to help transform the alchemist into an immortal divine creature. This deck is one I’d really love to work with! 🥰
Nice! I like the alchemical symbols on the cards. Thank you for showing these interesting decks. I wonder what the differences are with the symbols on the Kabbalistic Tarot, if any other than the alphabet being on those.

I just purchased this deck and am in love! I don't have a background in alchemy so I'm excited to learn. I'm currently reading The Tarot - History, Symbolism and Divination and didn't realize both the tarot deck and book were by the same person - Robert M Place!! I love when things like this happen! I'm hoping he wrote a book on alchemy and the tarot. Any suggestions for books on alchemy will be greatly appreciated!
