When it is said without "hands" it can be implied that it means the tail of the snake, because that would be the closest thing to a limb for shaking that they could use.
Honestly what if the snakes do that to ppl who say shit like that. Just to fuck with em. Like I like the snakes here and irl, but I can also see someone being like "ok ok guys... The next person that says "let's shake! " let's just tell them we use our tongues! It'll be hilarious! "
i love that Barts immediate reaction to telepathic snakes saying they touch tongues to make deals is just "Ya know what... i wanna be sensitive to your culture 😛"
My artificer's steel defender is actually a mechanical chest mimic prototype she made, which is designed to eat anyone other than the owner who tries to open it. She thought he was too cute to sell, so now he adventures with her. His name is Tiernan, because he's her little king.
I bet John is happy to see this. One of his favorite moments. Love this scene it's so fun. Also love that Gum Gum ultimately siding with the Tibulians ended so well
What happed: Bart did Bart things, lil chest boi came and was cute, mud chugs potion for no reason but to join the chaos. mud catches on fire! and snakes save him by drinking his blood and snakes grow legs by drinking it.
Wow. That’s literally a Chinese idiom. “Draw snake, add feet.” Basically pointing out to not do pointless things. Like chugging the decoction for no reason.
So instead of getting money or allies, or any reward instead, the snakes get what they want, and all the party got was their idiot, not dying to burning poison.
This was so far the funniest episode I've gotten to. I laughed the ENTIRE hour. What a creative way to present a mimic 😂 and all the jabs about limbs cracked me up.
i absolutely loved this scene from spot and mudd just instinctively taking the potion just so the snakes couldn't get it only to just burst into flames
I just listened to this episode this morning!! I just loved how prior to this Gus was chuckling to an idea assuming this one due to the unexpected event of saving a mimic in a boss style room and not only that but actually release it.
Local Mimic nerd here: this is entirely plausible. They are easily bribed with meals; but also with sweets, alcohol, and shiny trinkets. Their bodies are mostly hollow and not very dense, so they can store items for you and everything. They can secrete acid, so they can help you in battle too. They can see in the dark, and some of the more intelligent ones can speak as well. Willing to provide more information or answer questions.
@@go_play_ultrakill_right_now Befriend one Mimic at any point in the journey. They are a very unified species, if you befriend one you befriend them all.
I am currently dming a campaign that one of my players, an Automaton, where he attempted to befriend a mimic by offering it food, warmth, and a place to live. this was during the beginning of my campaign and now we are a few months in and he still loves his mimic friend. The mimic's name is Hazel and its always disguised as a ring he wears on his finger
Glad to see you around again! Fun video, it’s always fun to hear you just talk about stuff you like. It might be a fun idea to cover the “red headed step children” sequels that happened a lot in the mid-2000s. I grew up playing a lot of games like Klonoa 2, Nights Journey of Dreams, Ape Escape 3, Golden Sun Dark Dawn, and etc that were relatively obscure sequels to formerly popular 90s IPs and I feel they’re still amazing but don’t get nearly as much love.
Ok the campaign ended a while ago, and I just found this video again. THIS WAS NOT MOST OF THE SESSIONS. Once we took an entire hour to fight a few low-levered guards

I was half expecting the snakes to say "we put our money where our mouth is" and for Gum Gum to reply with "okay!" as he reaches his hand down one of the snakes' mouth to retrieve the money.
Reminds me of the Baby Mimic we encountered once in a campaign because our DM felt bad putting a fully grown one there. And so we fed it a goodberry to make it friendly, because mimics are motivated by food, and it was young, so now it follows us around and won't eat us if we feed it regularly.
"I think you should let the snakes suck on you"

I'm also trying to be sensitive to the culture... But"how" because I saw them with the tongue thing just three seconds ago?
You mean "comedy" lmao

A pet mimic, befriended danger-noodles (with tongue.)

The long version of this scene where John just screams “MUDD DRINKS THE POTION”to the rest of the party’s avail is truly incredible.
