Now i get why this song is ben's wife's favourite song of all that he's written. It's the realest "christian song" I've ever had the pleasure of hearing and we all need more songs like this. The kind that's not afraid to look at doubt in the face and doesn't sugarcoat it away with convenient verses... Thanks for being brave to do this Ben
The consensus church theology is why we believers doubt. All catholic and reformed theologies (99% of institutions) place the burden of assurance on the individual (validation based on works). But the Truth, which is the original Gospel preached to the early churches, is that we aren't to look to our works for validation that we have justification, but rather we're to look toward Christ for assurance on that.. His promise that whosoever believes in Him HAS everlasting life and thus will be resurrected physically and will never die from a spiritually positional standpoint.. making no promise of enduring faith on the part of the reborn but instead promising enduring life. Therefore the gift of Ephesians 2:8-9 (which is everlasting, for God makes no mistakes) is not the faith one has that he must work to keep, but instead the gift is the grace that God has for the one having (or even had, past tense) faith in Jesus Christ for His instantaneous and enduring promise of everlasting life to the one who believes. We can have 100% assurance apart from our works, and even apart from our uncertainty of perseverance in faith.. because it is His Word that assures us - John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 11:25-26, etc. If you're looking for true assurance, don't look to churches and their reformed theologies saying we're saved by faith through grace validated by works.. Look to the original Gospel which says we are saved by grace through faith apart from works (Ephesians 2:8-9), and that we presently/positionally HAVE life which is everlasting/enduring from the moment we believe and onward regardless of our condition at any point thereafter (John 5:24, John 11:25-26). This knowledge is the minority in Christianity, but it reconciles the contradictions of faith plus works messages, and the doubts associated - This is now called Free Grace Theology. Rightly dividing the Word of Truth to reveal that our perseverance and good works are necessary for rewards, heavenly treasures, Kingdom inheritance (not entrance), and abundance WITHIN eternal life.. but not for eternal life itself which is assured through all those things on the part of Jesus Christ (not us). The lack of unity in the knowledge of this powerful and compelling reality within Christendom is massively destructive, not just for those of us in the faith.. but for the entire world.. in a multitude of ways, affecting the very paradigm we're currently facing.
@@ChrisLegg17 Mordern day Christianity would be more adequately described as "Self-ianity". Introspection ad nauseam. I'm never surprised when people fall into crises of faith 'cause I've been there too many times. Whenever someone starts all their spiritual sentences with "I/me/my...", it's safe to assume they believe the "Self-ianity" Gospel of "save thyself". The fact that God placed the entirety of human salvation on the life of Jesus of Nazereth before a human is even born should be enough to realize we play no role in saving ourself.

Just my two cents, in case you’ve ever been told otherwise, you are free to cry out to God in sincerity. Not in irreverence, but in sincerity. He knows, and He can handle our pits. The world cannot, He can.
This song is sadly beautiful. Amen, it is a relationship. God knows our hearts anyway, but it is our choice to be real and openly honest with Him when we struggle or have unbelief. The book of Psalm is full of the praises, tears, fears, and faith of David, his raw love of God. David cried unto the Lord, lamented, was real and raw with Him. I think God respected him for that. David prayed to the Lord and was called a man after God's own heart. How beautiful when we choose real relationship and fellowship with Christ instead of being fake. Lament to the Lord, He will anwser. He will never leave you or forsake you, He cares for you, is with you wherever you go, you are engraved on the palm of His hand. Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, the Rock of Ages who sets your feet on soild ground, and build your house on The Rock, and your house will not sink like the house built on the sand. Hide His word in your heart and put on the full armor of God so you may stand firm in times such as these. HOLD FAST, keep your eyes fixed on the Lord. He is our Hope, The Way and The Light, hoshiana, Lord come quickly.
I’ve never heard a song so real raw and deep. It brings tears to my eyes cause a lot of Christians are struggling with unbelief and you’d hear a lot of people tell them just have faith but sometimes it’s hard and someone needed to say these words. Thanks Ben you just sang out how I feel.

This song made me start bawling after the first few lines. This is exactly how I feel in this season of life. What a beautiful gift of expression Benjamin has shared with the family. 💗
Ben's songs can only be birthed from a place of real brokenness and suffering either by personal experience or by walking through the most tender and wounded places with a loved one. These same vocal abilities sang in any other song outside of this sweet and beautiful humbling spirit' by the power of God would only be just another song. This is something very special indeed, as well as all of the other songs on this project.
All the great men and women of faith in our churches are those who hear God's voice, move closer to Him and experience His work in and around them. But what about those who never see and never hear and yet they still cling to the last straw of faith and never let go?
“Maybe faith is a gift that you wasted on me.” So incredibly honest it makes me uncomfortable and uneasy. These are just the words I never had the courage to pray..
God bless you! Joven Benjamin, Dios te ha puesto en gracia. No sabía de ti, hasta hace poco. Eso lo hace Dios y tus alabanzas me han ministrado demasiado. Te conocí a través de un duro proceso con la canción Highlands.
I'm all for songs that are raw, honest and real. I've felt and said worse, more "blasphemous", shocking things to God and about God. When someone suffers, there's always a bleeding heart that can come up with the most violent anger against what faith was supposed to give you and what you ended up having. But I've come to learn that God is not offended by any of that. He isn't offended by our fist-shaking and word vomits against his nature and our consant questioning of whether He is what He says He is and sometimes, whether He even cares. I've found that some of the most violently doubtful prayers I pray come in those darkest hours. BUT.... those moments don't have substance. As real as they are, they are still without substance. And so often, I've learned to not form a theology or a song in those moments because hurt and bitterness often shape words that I know I never meant. I'm for being real and everyone has their journey. But my two cents is... when the night crushes your soul and it seems like unbelief is dragging you into a pit, it's better to stay silent and mourn quietly knowing there is one who catches our tears and feels our pain. Otherwise, our mournful songs, though perfectly acceptable to our father, can make my brother stumble who is still in the clutches of the night that I might've eventually climbed out of. I would add this as well from a song Ben sang if I were to say something to him. "Oh, how long have I chased rivers from lowly seas to where they rise, against the rush of grace descending from the source of its' supply." "I would search and stop at nothing, you're just not that hard to find."
it sucks that my belief in the Almighty is worse than what he is singing about. so whatever you are dealing with from this song, just know that i have given up on friends, family, almost fully on God, and life in general.
To think about... If God created Us and let people live according to their own will (Free Will), And the desires of the Hearts, Or just by FAITH, THEN For whom he left the Holy Bible written as Laws and Commandments in the New Testament, TEACHING what's right and what's wrong, what's do and what's not to do in life??? John 14:21... "The person who accepts and obeys my commandments proves that loves me. And the person who loves me Will be loved by my father, And I will also love and show who I am"... John - 8:47... "The person who belongs to God listens to the words of God "... Some Laws That Is Written in the New Covenant Implemented by Christ Jesus Himself: Galatians 5:16 - 21.. The Spirit of God and Human Nature 16 I want to say to you this: let the Spirit of God direct your life and do not obey the desires of human nature. 17 Because what our human nature wants is against what the Spirit wants, and what the Spirit wants is against what human nature wants. You're both enemies, and that's why you can't do what you want. 18 But if it's the Spirit of God that guides you, then you're not under the law. 19 The things that human nature produces are well known. They are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent actions, 20 idol worship, witchcraft, the enmities, the fights, the jealousies, the tantrums, the selfish ambition, the disunity, the divisions, 21 the envy, the drunkenness, the parties, and other things like that. I repeat what I have already said: those who do these things will not receive the Kingdom of God. Romans 13:12 - 14 12 The night is ending, and the day is coming. So let's stop doing what belongs to darkness and pick up spiritual weapons to fight in the light. 13 Let us live decently, like people who live in daylight. No binges or drunkenness, no immorality or indecency, no fighting or jealousy. 14 But have the qualities that the Lord Jesus Christ has and do not seek to satisfy the evil desires of your human nature. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 You know that the wicked will have no part in the Kingdom of God. Make no mistake, for immoral people, idol worshipers, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, slanderers and robbers will have no part in the Kingdom of God. Apocalypse - 21:8... 8 But the cowards, the traitors, those who commit disgusting sins, the murderers, the immoral, those who practice sorcery, those who worship idols and all liars, the place of these people is the lake where fire and brimstone burns, which is the second death. Titus 2:12 - 13... God tells us , This grace teaches us to abandon worldly passions and live in this world a prudent , correct and dedicated life to God , while we wait for the happy day when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear ... - What worldly passions are these that are not pleasing to God and which is a sin preventing a person from receiving the true benefits for life is to be saved? Read in the Holy Bible In: Colossians - 3:5 - 17... 1 Thessalonians - 4:3, 4:7 - 8... Ephesio - Chapters 4 and 5... Matthew - Chapter, 5... Etc... - What does God want or require of us? Micah - 6:8... Hebrews - 13:1 - 19... 1 Peter - 1:14 - 16. 1 thessalonissences - 4:3... God says in Hebrews 12:14, That "Without HOLINESS no one will see God or be saved..." So how to get Holiness??? " Just obeying all that God left written as LAWS and COMMANDMENTS in the Holy Bible in the New Testament, For the Laws and commandments are the sanctification of body, soul and spirit. And not only live by Faith. For in other words Faith without ACTION it's dead thing James 2-14 to follow.... Through this truth of the Holy Bible we can know that life is to be lived according to God's will, And not according to our own will... After all; If it were to live according to our will, God would not have left the commandments in the new testament to us obey, Which is part of the new alliance... I also know that the truth sometimes causes discomfort for people, but we have to understand and accept after all it is the truth that is being told, it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy!" (1 Peter 1:16), The conduct of a true Christian is not as many teach that it is just Living by (grace and faith), as it proves wrong, where are the miracles, healings and deliverance that the Lord Jesus and the disciples did in the past happening in the present day??? Has God changed?? Of course not.... God said He doesn't live in a dirty house, The house symbolizes the human body, and the dirt symbolizes sin, so if miracles aren't happening it's because God isn't in us, And if God isn't in us it's because we're living in disobedience so how can miracles happen? this is just one of many, many other proofs that prove what I'm saying... But every day God offers an opportunity to change... Be careful, Because, GOD SAYS: " Because there will come a time when people will not pay attention to the true teaching, but will follow their own desires. And will seek for yourself a lot of teachers, Who will tell what they want to hear, These people will no longer hear the truth to listen to legends ".... 2 Timothy 4:3 4... CONCLUSION: Yes, God's grace exists. But God doesn't want us to live anyway, Or do anything in the moments and circumstances of life.... Did you understand? Do you Want One More Example? Then read what the Master, God the Father Jesus Christ said in the Holy Bible In, (Mark - 9: 42 to 48 )...

19 The things that human nature produces are well known. They are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent actions,
20 idol worship, witchcraft,
the enmities,
the fights,
the jealousies,
the tantrums,
the selfish ambition,
the disunity,
the divisions,
21 the envy, the drunkenness,
the parties, and other things like that. I repeat what I have already said: those who do these things will not receive the Kingdom of God.
Romans 13:12 - 14
12 The night is ending, and the day is coming.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
You know that the wicked will have no part in the Kingdom of God.
Read in the Holy Bible In:
Colossians - 3:5 - 17...
God says in Hebrews 12:14, That "Without HOLINESS no one will see God or be saved..."
So how to get Holiness???
" Just obeying all that God left written as LAWS and COMMANDMENTS in the Holy Bible in the New Testament, For the Laws and commandments are the sanctification of body, soul and spirit. And not only live by Faith. For in other words Faith without ACTION it's dead thing James 2-14 to follow....
Through this truth of the Holy Bible we can know that life is to be lived according to God's will, And not according to our own will...
After all;
If it were to live according to our will, God would not have left the commandments in the new testament to us obey, Which is part of the new alliance...
Be careful, Because, GOD SAYS:
" Because there will come a time when people will not pay attention to the true teaching, but will follow their own desires. And will seek for yourself a lot of teachers, Who will tell what they want to hear, These people will no longer hear the truth to listen to legends "....
2 Timothy 4:3 4...
CONCLUSION:
Yes, God's grace exists. But God doesn't want us to live anyway, Or do anything in the moments and circumstances of life.... Did you understand?
Do you Want One More Example? Then read what the Master, God the Father Jesus Christ said in the Holy Bible In, (Mark - 9: 42 to 48 )...
