    Lucille is played by Jeffery Dean Morgan (Negan)’s real life wife, which made the chemistry just feel all that more real

    Fun Facts for you if you didn’t notice.
    1. Negan’s last name is revealed in this episode It’s hard to see unless you pause but the name on the letterbox of his house says Smith meaning his full name is Negan Smith A few years back Robert Kirkman was asked at a convention what Negan’s last name was and he said he never gave him one but when people kept asking he just said his name is Smith there you go.
    2. One of the trophies/pieces of memorabilia in the scene with Negan trolling kids on Gears Of War in addition to also having Negan Smith written on it shows that the high school football team he coached was called the Saviours.

    Negan is one of the best written villains for a TV series, his lore is very good, and I'm glad you made it to this episode and didn't just hate him for his actions from seasons 7 and 8

    I loved all the callbacks in this episode especially the dog food dinner because now we know why Dwight fed Daryl dog food sandwiches back in Season 7 loved all TWD callbacks so far.

    This is not only the best episode of the season, but also the best bottle episode of the entire series as well as in the top 3 of all episodes.
    Here it is also shown why Neagan already punishes the attempt of rape with death in the future. Because he wasn't doing anything when this happened to Laura.
    Hillary (Lucille) is JDM's wife in real life. So the great chemistry between the two isn't even played.
    I think the next season should be more seen than 3 seasons instead of one. The final season was divided into 8 episodes each. Accordingly, parts of the main stories are more or less completed after every 8 episodes.

    You noticed how Negan said to Lucille (The Bat) he shouldn’t have run I think that’s why he came back he doesn’t want to run from Maggie and the problems he’s gonna face them.

    Negan's backstory was laid out perfectly and the show managed to fit all this information in under an hour! You find yourself
    relating to him more as a human, not monster. The show did a great job of that! 💚💜

    According to Jeffrey Dean Morgan himself that smile Negan has at the end was unscripted but the producers liked it and kept it in.

    This is one of the best episodes of the series IMO, and theres a couple reasons for that.
    It harks back to the early seasons in a lot of ways.. more of a character study than just gore and action. And it's the one episode where covid restrictions really worked in its favor.. minor cast, smallish sets, etc. - the fact that Hilarie Burton (JDM's actual wife, also an actress most known for One Tree Hill) got to play Lucille was a masterstroke.
    They originally wanted Austin Amelio (Dwight) back for this episode - but they couldnt make the schedules work during covid, so they had Lindsley Register (Laura) pop back up instead - which is probably for the best, because it would have been difficult to bring Dwight back without Sherry and her sister as well.. just would have packed the cast a little too much for what the episode is supposed to be.
    My only gripe with it is that the show might have benifited from having this episode a couple seasons earlier than where it wound up.. but thats just the way things work sometimes.

      Fascinating. And it definitely worked with them bringing Laura back - in so many ways. I can see how it could work with Dwight & co. but, hey, serendipity!
      Many felt Laura had more mileage as a character and was killed off too soon. But this show has to do that, and we get it. Nice to see her again, though, in an episode like this. It's like flicking back through a family album!... with zombies. Don't you dare say a bad word about Grandma!

    I don’t know why your mad Maggie hasn’t moved on from her husband being brutally murdered in front of her while she was pregnant and is now a single mother like why would she forgive him 😭 and a lot of people haven’t forgiven him they just had to get used to it but Maggie just came back so of course she’s still mad the last time she saw him he was still the terrible Negan. Plus Carol forgave Negan a lot faster because she wasn’t there at the line up but everyone that was still hasn’t forgave him and carol never forgave alpha and made mistakes because of it but you seemed to never care but Maggie is mad and it’s a problem

    I don't know if I necessarily agree that this new world "makes" these people. But I do think it definitely amplifies attributes already ingrained in us, for better or worse. Obviously the show is called The Walking Dead and survival is often not going to be pretty, whether you're a gym teacher or a small town sheriff. That being said, while I don't and never will condone Negan's actions in the earlier seasons and this episode to me does not justify them, the episode itself is very well done.

    Erm...Maggie doesn't have to let ANYTHING GO when it comes to Negan lol. Everyone else hasn't just let it go either. Maggie and Glenn don't compare to Rosita & Abrahams relationship either. What Negan did to Glenn & how, could never really be forgiven by a wife. Especially when she sees her beautiful mini Glenn's face everyday & what could have been. Cmon nobody would let that go, even more so when that person never apologised or said they regretted their actions.
    Love Jeffrey but even the flashbacks showed Negan always had that dark side of him b4 apocalypse world began & Lucillles death, he admits as much himself.

    if i could describe Negan as anything, it would be "Chaotic Good". he did express his grief and shame thru a Lawful Evil phase, but he's clearly gotten over that and (more importantly) knows that it was wrong. now we just need Carol and others to climb down off their high horse long enough to understand he's reformed, people can too change for the better if given the chance and means.

    • @annapurna4054
      @annapurna4054 6 місяців тому +4

      It looks like we have differing opinions on this. People (and fictional characters) can change for the better, yes. They can be redeemed, yes. But other people (and other fictional characters) they've wronged are under no moral or legal obligation to forgive them for the harm they've done.
      It's easy for a lot of fans to forgive Negan because he's a fun fictional character played by a charismatic actor, but I have to wonder how many of us would be so quick to forgive and love him if he'd been a real person doing those things to us and our loved ones.
      Do I blame Carol or the others or especially Maggie for not wanting to forgive and forget? Not for a second. The smart thing for Negan to do would have been to move on and find another group where he could have a fresh start, but he chose not to do that. So I don't feel sorry for him when he's not welcomed with open arms by everyone, because he knows what he's choosing and he chooses it anyway.
      I think Negan is one of the most entertaining characters in TWD. But he still has a dark side, and if he felt true shame and remorse at this point, imo, he wouldn't stay and subject Maggie to his continued presence. It's a selfish move on his part.

    • @PsychoticFruitfly
      @PsychoticFruitfly 6 місяців тому +1

      @@annapurna4054 not everyone has this overdeveloped sense of revenge. nobody's saying "forgive and forget", i'm saying ACCEPT THAT PEOPLE OTHER THAN YOURSELVES CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. they're practically getting off on putting the boots to negan at every convenience. you can see it in carol's face. all the while refusing to acknowledge everything he's done to atone for his past. when is enough enough? or do people like maggie and carol have some kind of "divine right of torment" where they can abuse him all they want?
