Gacharic Spin formed in 2009 when bassist Koga Michiko (stage name F Chopper Koga - one of the best stage names ever) and her old friend drummer/guitarist Sano Hana (Hana) decided to form a band. They were both in their early 20s at the time. A few months later, guitarist Midorikawa Tomoko (Tomo-zo) joined when an original member left. In 2012 keyboardist Suzuki Reona (Oreo Reona) joined and these "core four" have been together ever since. In my opinion, the band struggled finding an identity during the first 10 years. However, in early 2019 they added Yuri to play drums which allowed Hana to be up front on guitar. Yuri was not in this video and Hana was back on drums because Yuri was on maternity leave. More importantly, Koga discovered a young 17 year old high school vocalist with very little performing experience but with a great voice and abundant charisma. Koga invited her to audition as an additional vocalist ( all of the core four can sing, especially Hana and Reona). The young vocalist goes by Angelina 1/3 because of her Japanese, Spanish and Filipino heritage but fans simply call her Angie. These six are by far the best version of Gacharic Spin.
This is another Japanese band where all six are world class talents. Koga is an exceptional bassist and, like Misa with Band-Maid, her bass work always gets highlighted. It does help that she and Hana remain the primary songwriters. Speaking of Hana, not only is she a great drummer, guitarist, composer and vocalist (both cleans and harsh) she also played bass in another band. In my now almost 4 years of taking a deep dive into Japanese rock/metal, three artists have impressed me the most, and they are all three women - Kanami of Band-Maid (one of the best rock/metal composers in the world), Miyako of Lovebites (world class composer, guitarist and pianist) and Hana (the Dave Grohl of Japan).

I think it's worth mentioning that Tomo-zo is also a major song-writer for the band
For example IIRC she was the primary composer on MindSet, I Wish I, Kachi-Kachi Yama, and Replica, all 4 of their last two albums singles
All members contribute ideas even to songs other members bring, although final arrangement decisions when there's dispute falls to the original composer of the song
There is an in depth interview coming to UniJolt with Koga and Tomo-zo in the next few weeks that includes a number of in depth questions and responses about their writing process
Oreo also composes songs, for example Voice, Forever 19

@@r-tunes8652 Thank you for that info. Gacharic Spin is the seventh band that I have taken a dive into their history but I still have a ways to go. The other bands are Maximum The Hormone (who I have listened to for many years), Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Asterism and Unlucky Morpheus.

My favourite band, I got to see them front and centre in Houston last night, one of the best gigs I've ever been to and I've been to hundreds, if not thousands, mostly metal
I'm actually having major post gig blues now and I don't normally get that

I saw some fan videos of that show and it looked spectacular. Wish I could have been there but glad to hear you had a great time. I can't imagine seeing a GS show and walking away disappointed.

When you listen to the bass singled out, as she does in her IG, you realize how intricate she is to the bands sound. I'd put her in my top 5 bassist ever. Just love these girls.

Gacharic Spin are now live in Houston Texas.....Band-Maid are now live in US, Hanabie are now live in Europe.... In the 70' 80' US and European Rock Bands invaded Japan, now Japanese Rock Bands invaded US and Europe, and the only different is that they are all FEMALE.......

As mentioned in another comment, the musicians in this video are the musicians from the band Doll$Boxx with Fuki, the singer from Unlucky Morpheus. The Doll$Boxx song Shout Down is definitely worth checking out 🤘😁🤘

I can't remember ever seeing or hearing such an energetic group as Gacharic Spin. And believe me, you haven't seen or heard anything yet! :) It's not for nothing that I like to call this band a mystery bag, where you just don't know what to expect next.
The fact that at this time Yuri was actually already their drummer and the reason why Hana was seen here again on them, has already been written and has to do with Yuris maternity leave at this time. Do you want to see both together? Then I just recommend her song Tamashii in the 2019 live version with the video ID "Jt7-GGRa3nc" and PLEASE together with a VERY special version of the same song which you can find under the video ID "DzoxNWNnFpw" (yes, the video name is in japanese). 😉

GS started in 2009, with a lead singer called Armmy (Takae Ashitomi). They did a sort of highly technical punk-pop, but crossed genres a lot. They started to have friction between Armmy and the rest of the band, and then in early 2012 she left, officially for health reasons. She died in 2015; their work with her is very much worth seeing-here is an early one: “Setsunaku” ua-cam.com/video/vfzIt20_xXg/v-deo.html The girls were all just out of high school, and you can see they were already doing pretty advanced, technical stuff.
When Armmy left, GS had tours lined up in both Japan and abroad for 2012, and needed a lead singer. For the Japan tour various singers (including Fuki) filled in for different shows, but they couldn’t find someone good enough who could also commit to the band full time For their overseas tour Hana (who was doing drums and vocals and was effectively the co-leader of the band) took the lead vocals on herself. She also happens to play several other instruments. Here is a live performance of their track Across The Now from a tiny venue in France (filmed as part of their 2012 overseas tour-this was Hana's first test at taking lead vocals whilst drumming): ua-cam.com/video/_LnVAgqlE8g/v-deo.html
GS had had great chemistry with Fuki when she filled in for them, so while they were figuring out what to do with GS they contacted Fuki about doing a more metal project. This became Doll$Boxx. They wrote and recorded their first album at the end of 2012, then picked up GS again full time in 2013. This remains their main focus, and Fuki is busy with many projects including her main band Unlucky Morpheus, but they occasionally continue to perform together when their schedules permit. So Doll$Boxx can be considered a special project of GS.
Regarding the genre of Gacharic Spin, it's pretty much impossible to pin it down to any one thing, although by and large they'd probably fall very roughly in the "pop rock" genre although they really just do whatever they want at any given time. You'll find everything in their back catalogue from metal and punk to electro, dance, pop and ballads. Most of their recent work merges multiple genres.
In recent years, Gacharic Spin have added more personnel (a drummer, allowing Hana to focus on guitar and vocals, and dancers who also sing). Core personnel (these are also the members of Doll$Boxx along with Fuki):
Hana (Hana Sano): vocals, drums, guitar, keytar, other instruments
    Tomo-Zo (Tomoko Midorikawa): lead guitar
    F-Chopper Koga (Michiko Koga): bass
Oreo Reona (Reona Suzuki): keyboards, vocals
All of them can sing and occasionally take on lead or backing vocals. Hana and Oreo also do metal growls in some songs. Several other performers have rotated in and out of GS. Currently they list Yuri as their drummer and Angelina doing dance and vocals. Here's a fun video of them performing their track Hunting Summer: ua-cam.com/video/fWPyXZzeV3Y/v-deo.html Oreo takes lead vocals on this and there's a fun dueling keyboard solo between her and one of the dancers.
Here is Fantasy Medley, live, a medley of several of Tomo-zo's songs which are often named with a fantasy theme like Weekend Fantasy, Final Fantasy, etc: ua-cam.com/video/HLoqx_6B3Tw/v-deo.html
Finally, one of their most recent official videos, a remarkable excursion through fusion, electro-pop, metal and funk with some symphonic keyboards thrown in. Very few bands have the technical chops to pull off anything like this. “Mindset” ua-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/v-deo.html

Great review of a band that has become one of my favorites. Yes, all of these women are extremely talented but don't assume that all of their songs are in this style since this band is a genre chameleon when it comes to music styles. Since you guys are more into metal try "Reverse Psychology" (live) ua-cam.com/video/D5iUvZWwJYY/v-deo.html or "I Wish I" (live and don't let the ballad start fool you) ua-cam.com/video/nhFse5ZBlLo/v-deo.html for a very hard metal/rock sound.

Speaking only for myself, Gacharic Spin are my favourite band, but they're one of the few Japanese acts I listen to regularly alongside X Japan, Ling Tosite Sigure and Ningen Isu, the rest of the bands on my heavy rotation are British, American and European, for example Dyscarnate, Megadeath, Battle Beast, Marduk, Akercocke

Don't know where you got that last sentence from. Reactors like Wave Potter, react-o-mat, Party Like a Rockstar, who heavily feature the Japanese scene typically also love other bands and artists. Jinjer, Polyphia, Nightwish, Alip Ba Ta etc.
What is true is a lot have people have become cynical about the state of rock/metal, had their love of it revived by Japanese bands, and then found out that there are some great western bands too once you get past the cookie-cutter stuff that gets the most views.
