But I think the premise of the video is pretty simple, Justin is a pop star, the song is about that pop star lifestyle. Drake, Khaled and Justin Bieber all have a connection so it works, plus Drake shouts out Bieber in the song. Not to mention from a marketing point of view it's genius, I mean all the Justin Bieber fans will love it, and all the Drake fans will watch it, and all their haters will too. The beginning with Khaled and Drake was just a skit to be funny and make it plausible why they would need a replacement for Drake. They just tried to do something different and I think they succeeded.
