Shoutouts to Kurt Angle man! There's a James Strom interview where he says this was Angle's idea to have Storm only hit a Superkick and win. Storm wasn't sure it would go over great buuuuuut👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@@RGF91 It added to the story of this win though and kickstarted one of the best feuds in company history, his own partner got the first shot and ended up stabbing him in the back to win the championship.

What a world title win! I remember watching this with my dad and we both popped massively. TNA’s golden years will always be my favourite company ever 🙌🏻
They got the first part right. Storm beats Angle for the title only to have Roode turn on Storm and win the title. Here's where I would change it to Roode having a lengthy reign only for Storm to win the title back at Slammiversary 2012. Storm eventually loses the title to Austin Aries at BFG 2012. Thats how I would've booked it.
You don’t think Roode should have beat Angle at BFG? I think that killed Roode imo he lost to a 42 year old with a torn hanmstring at the biggest show of the year. I have no problem with your booking btw, other than Aries beating Storm at BFG. Storm was really hot at this time I think he should have had a long reign or trade it back with Rood because Roode was hot as a heel
@@djsav688 he lost that top heel Spot to Austin Aeries who had only been back for a year. Hogan picked Aries over Storm to end Roode’s title reign…that was complete BS
It was a shame he had a very short reign. Storm should've had won 2 more times the TNA World Title (Lockdown 2012 and around Summer 2014 when The Revolution was in its peak)
I would have Storm held the title until Lockdown 12 and dropped it to Roode in the same fashion with beer bottle onto the head. Tease the turn here and there. I think they rushed Roode heel turn cause a little conflict before an eventual heel turn would have been so much better for the heat he would have gotten afterwards.
@@vigymuhamad3360 roode was no doubt the best heels in TNA as well as being the longest reigning champion in tna its a shame how wwe didn't give roode the push he deserves and gave it to AJ STYLES instead 🙄

This was probably the best thing Vince Russo ever booked during his time in this company. Too bad Russo also booked James Storm to lose this world title two weeks later. And he wonders why fans hate him (SMH).
James Storm needs a run in AEW. Cowboy vs Cowboy. Storm vs Hangman. "This company ain't big enough for two cowboys." They feud for 6 months... ...then Bobby Roode shows up and hits Hangman with a beer bottle. Beer Money is reunited.
For the first time of his IMPACT Wrestling career, the “Cowboy” James Storm wins his first singles championship of his career by 🥇 the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
A night that TNA got everything right. One of the greatest moments in TNA history. No one deserved it more than the Cowboy. Shame he didn’t get a proper title run and was just used to transition Bobby Roode’s heel turn. Storm deserved better.
you could’ve had his world title last until Lockdown, have Roode turn heel on him in his hometown by smashing Storm with a beer bottle, giving Roode nuclear heat
Kinda surprised it's a 10 minute video when the match itself is just under 2 minutes. Also, why tf did they not give James a 2nd and proper run with the title?

One of the greatest championship wins in Impact wrestling history
until Roode won
And his former tag partner ruined it.

Least he's doing better than on NXT.

James Storm Is One Of My Favourite Wrestler 🔥🌟 He Has Something
Incredible and memoriable moment but Cowboy James Storm deserved longer reign
One of the best free TV moments for pro wrestling
I remember watching every week for almost 2 more years just waiting to see James Storm do this again. One of my favorite wrestling moments ever.
This was for TNA loyal fans seeing one of their own since the start of company to finally win World heavyweight championship belt.
And in typical TNA fashion this big moment was just setting the stage for the Roode heel turn
Could’ve done the roode turn some other way James Storm deserved a longer run with the belt
But that wasnt bad tho. Where tna f*cked up big time was not making james storm the leader of aces & eight. It was set in stone for him to be the leader yet they went with trash as bully ray
