- The Lights are back on and so are we! After surviving a gruesome pitbull attack on 4/2/2020, Kel is back with Rich by her side as we all listen and react to the LIVE CONCERT FOOTAGE from 4/13/21 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida by FIrewind, a powerhouse Greek power metal band formed in 1998 as they perform The Fire and the Fury from their 2003 masterpiece Burning Earth. As a bonus, Kel reacts to their cover of Michael Sambello's 1983 megahit - "Maniac".

i know how you feel Kel, I was in a bad car accident and had/have a bad concussion and have been in vestibular therapy for months now. It took me a long time to get back my interest in music again. the balance and brain fog when I was standing and walking was horrible. praying for a quick recovery
I know this is about a year too late, but welcome back, guys. And yes, the DragonForce, Visions of Atlantis, Seven Spires, and Firewind Tour was fantastic from what I've heard from OldSkuleNerd and others. And regarding Firewind, yeah, they've been around for over 20 years now. I think their debut came out in 2001 i believe. I discovered them in 2005, iirc, with their Allegiance album. That album had several banger on it. But what i always like was their instrumentals from the earlier album. The Fire and tbe Fury was great, from their 2nd album, Burning Earth, but Feast of the Savages from their 3rd album, Forged by Fire was also bad ass. Seems like Allegiance had an instrumental as well, but don't recall the exact track. I gota admit though, i'm not all that familiar with their four albums, even though I own all of their studio albums. Just had lots of other bands take precedent, during this last 10 years of their existence.
Nice to have you both back. I'm like Rich hearing 80s metal first time on air and getting a kick from Kelly first reaction 30 years later. Thumbs up. 👍

hey guys! I followed this tour on Twitch and every single show was mind blowing. Any chance you could do some Visions of Atlantis and Seven Spires as well. Visions of Atlantis' new album Pirates is the best release so far this year in my opinion. Master The Hurricane, Melancholy Angel and Legion of the Seas all have amazing videos out.. or try Clocks if you want something live.
Oh I managed to fall down a medieval/folk metal rabbit hole the last 2 years .. I will have to show you some of that. Kel will love it, the variety of instruments these guys use is amazing. Have a great weekend!

Love me some Firewind. Gus G is amazing. I discovered this group through Rock Band 2 back in the day. Which is also where I discovered Bob Katsionis, who is a similarly talented keyboardist that performed on the album "Burning Heart" and has released numerous solo albums, "Rest in Keys" being probably my favorite.
In the same vein, you would love Tommy Johansson. He is a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist whose band Reinxeed (renamed to Majestica a few years ago) is one of my favorites. He also has been releasing metal covers of many non-metal songs from groups like Blondie to Spice Girls (performing all instruments, including some of the best power metal vocals you will ever hear).

You'll be surprised what songs can get metalled up, on his channel I recommend metal versions of careless whisper, hello by Adele, you're the voice and holding out for a hero is very good. Couple of roxanne ones and the one with the girl is worth a listen. There'll be loads of songs you know. (I wasn't paid or anything for this)😝

While I’m not a huge fan of the speed Metal, their technical abilities on guitar are no question awesome. I’m more for the melodic Metal/hard rock. Nice take on Maniac, I never thought I’d hear a hard version of that song, lol. You need to check out a west coast band that started in the 80’s, Y&T. Great hard rock band, great melodies, great riffs! Check out Y&T.
