Little did they know at this point that 3/4 years down the line they would become one of the greatest British acts of all time. Good luck to them. The classic line up of Jarvis,Russel,Candida,Nick & Steve.
I really hope they knew at this point they were cos for me this phase was their peak...well not their only one....in that sense your comment doesn't make sense, to me
This is almost theatre but absolutely brilliant. Great live act and you have to go back early to see how good they were. With the crap we get now it would be good for a generation to look at raw talent like this
Proof that Jarvis looked and moved in his special way before they became really famous, and that the band sounded that way before it too. Though at the time they must have been pretty pleased this song got to number 80 in the charts.
Observations: The Camera is eager to make out with Jarvis' face. ---- at 3:05 Jarvis' Karate Kick into 360 evasive spin Combo = Masterful. 3:08 is def Morrissey. Stationary dance moves by the crowd = Solid.
So sad how shows like this either never existed here Stateside or are long gone! I'm a Pulp nut as is, just imagine had I seen all of this footage that I'm seeing for the first time now, that originally aired in the UK?!? THANK YOU for posting!!
When I first saw Pulp on 'think it was Stage one about 1989?' I actually tipped them for stardom in the 1990s, I'm seldom wrong about anything because I know the answer to every question ever asked in all human history ya see. I find it astounding no record company signed them alot soon really.
Russel Senior, one of the coolest man to ever produce kinky riffs on a guitar.
sad hes not in the band

The difference between this (though sublime) and then success? Jarvis started to make eye contact with the camera=audience=[explicit content] ;)
