FYI I don’t know why they stuck that hot feature on it, it shortens the life span of the humidifier. As soon as it’s time to turn the heat on we get our humidifier out. We had ours burn out and stop working because we used the hot mode. Just a heads up.
I don’t think the heater shortens the life span of it, that’s like saying charging an iPhone makes it die(to the point that it needs to be replaced) faster.
Thanks for commenting, @ellacallero3961! One thing I noticed is that it did use quite a bit of electricity having it on the warm mode. I had it on basically 24/7 for a month or so and was wondering why my electric usage was higher than usual...and then figured it was probably the warm humidifier. I've switched to using it primarily on cool mode now, and will see if that makes much of a difference.
@@Mattc-tj5ipMight be the it's-cleaning-time light. It pops on after awhile to remind you to clean it, and can be reset by holding down one of the buttons (I think the light button?).
Mine did come with one in the box, but I haven't been able to find one online (on both the Homedics and the Costco websites) for this particular model. :( Thanks for commenting, and be sure to sub for more! Thanks, @juliebowen320! 😄
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist There is a manual online. Just type in the name of the humidifier in the search engine along with the word manual and it will come up.
Have you noticed any white dust (calcium deposits from the water) around the house? Do you have a separate humidifier for your piano, such as a dampp chaser?
Haven’t noticed any, knock on wood! Our house naturally stays in a pretty good place in terms of humidity, even without the humidifier. Don’t have a separate one for the piano. Thanks for commenting!😄
mine started leaking & stopped working (after about 2 months) ... i'm THINKING / hoping it's just a fluke & wanna exchange it, but not if the next one is just gonna leak too (hardwood floors!) ... has yours leaked at all?
Oh no? Mine hasn’t leaked (knock on wood). Maybe setting it on a tray is an idea to catch at least some drips if the new one leaks, just in case? Good luck!
Ah, I actually did this the other day. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I think I held down one of the buttons (I think the light button) for several seconds and it resets the clean light, I think. Let me know if that works!
I rinse it with water and wipe it down daily, and occasionally clean it with white vinegar too. The official cleaning instructions come with the humidifier. Thanks for watching, and be sure you're subbed for more!
In the top-back of the tank itself, I think it's the little white part that sticks out toward the front after coming down that says "MAX FILL." So I think you're not supposed to fill it past the part that comes down and sticks out toward the front. Thanks for your support, and be sure you're subbed for more, @dianasaenz1395! Use distilled water to avoid white dust in your home.

What is the red light under the humidity percentage for? It’s right above the clock button.

so cool!
Might as well film opening it, right? 🤣
Do you know where to find an instructional manual for this model? One did not come in our box. Thank you.

@@licenannie6733 Thanks for the update. Maybe they’ve since added the manual for this version (wasn’t there when I checked ~7 months ago).

How do you reset the red cleaning light? I don't have the manual.

Which is the MAX line in the tank?
