Hi Diana, I really hope you will tackle the Beginner DVD's for the KH970. I bought one from a dealer several years ago, and had problems with it, but now I really want to get going with it. I know it is more difficult than the other Brother machines, and was fortunate to be able to purchase the Brother Video/DVDs to learn them, but there is really NOTHING visual for the KH970. I know you have mentioned in the past about doing them for the KH970, and I truly hope you will! Blessings, and thanks so much for your dedication to Machine Knitting!!!! Cobi

I do think this is needed, though; I find the 970 rather difficult to use, myself, and the last seminar I taught, I had to have the 970 owner help me. My 970 tends to stay in the closset while I do videos on the most common machines. I do hope I get to do this at some point. It would certainly improve my own skills to work out a set of lessons!
The lace carriage is just moving stitches, putting two on a single needle, and creating the holey design as well as creating the edge decreases and increases.
Hello, Diana! I've bought your book "Enchanted Edgings" by eBay. Thank you for this wonderful book. I want to knit an edging for a baby blanket, but I don't understand, how to knit the corners. Is it possible? Could you help me, please?
These do not miter easily. You could do a sewing machine seamed miter, but it won't look good unless your plan the pieces to match up - and that will involve changing the dimensions of the blanket. You could go around the corners with ravel cord short-rowing, but you will have the same problem. Here is the best strategy in my opinion and what I do: Stop at the corner. Then knit a separate corner piece, a triangle, starting at the inside using sew-as-you-go. You would end up with a slanted edge on the corners. A little bit of lace inside that piece is optional; do something quite plain.
Diana can you do another video with the CB-1 and a patent that's already in the book. I don't know when to use the lace carriage and when to use the regular carriage.
I really should do a 970 course for UA-cam. This was the one machine that a lot of people didn't master, because they were so used to the older models and probably had an older model sitting around that they could use.
There are a lot of possibilities, and I don't know a lot about mechanics. I would start by cleaning, oiling, checking sponge bar and then testing it with simple pattern repeats and see if there is a regular pattern to the misselected needles. You may need a repairman.

The Designaknit stitch patterns are on the disk as either .pets or .stps. If you open the disk with File Explorer, you can copy them into your folder where you keep your stitch patterns.

Yes please do some videos using the 970. The book that comes with the machine is very basic. Your videos are the best!

I don't understand what the lace carriage is doing either. There's no yarn in it, so why does it have to go back and forth for several rows?
