- This business grade EAP225 access point from TP-Link is really quick and easy to setup. It has a useful feature of band steering which enables devices to join the 5Ghz network and fall back to 2.4Ghz during poor signal coverage such as roaming too far away for a good 5Ghz connection. Being a business grade AP, it supports VLANs, separate management VLAN and QoS which enables you to prioritse different traffic types, such as VOIP.
The device comes with a mounting kit and POE injector.

thank you, I get mine tomorrow. I hope it is as easy as it looks. I just need it for my basement.
When you look up if you need a special cable for the POE thing, most sites will tell you that you just need a cat 5 cable. But I'm here to tell you it doesn't work with just any random cat 5 cable, apparently. Had to search my house and found a cat 5e cable instead, which then finally worked.
Thanks for your video though, thought I was going insane 🙂
Hey.
Im getting the TP-Link EAP 245 V3 tomorrow, and gonna set it up.
Just one AP, for the simple task of boosting the signal in one end of a house. Home use.
Awesome video, just a question, if you do check questions.
TP-Link refers to having a certain Omada Controller version on its firmware downloads, im not even gonna use the program, just the admin page like in your video.
Is that just a notice for those that use the program, to tell them to use the latest version?
I called my PC store's customer service and they said i dont need to update firmware even and just set it up and go.
Simple walkthrough for simple setup solution. Worked for me. Thanks. Anything similar on the Omada control software ?
Great video. Simple and clear, well done!
Hi I need some help when you plugged yours in did it light up ? Or did you have to configure it first. Also if it doesn’t light up how do I find the IP address to set it up? I hope I’m making sense.
How can i configure it to AP mode??
I can’t enter via ip adres because iOS wil not allow connecting to open unsecure netwerk.. how can i acces my settings?
For the 2.5 & 5.0 SSID, can I just enter my existing home network name and password?
Make a speed test on 2.4 and 5g.
Great...
Its not eap 225
