- I have these old Sailor Moon dolls and decided to clean Sailor Jupiter up! This is the process. She turned out basically as good as brand new!

If you're curling doll hair with foam rollers i recommend using toilet paper as an end paper! I usually use foam curlers for dolls when i don't need to curling iron it, and the toilet paper is surprisingly effectkve as end paper, i've been using for probably a solid 7 years and i haven't gone out to buy end papers since
Most toy companies have moved past using the bendy wire ties like you have with these dolls. The alternatives tend to be either paper ties or plastic barb fasteners that used to only used for clothes tags. Just taking a quick search online seems like you found one of the better replacements.
Round twist ties
they are the same type as bread ties but longer
I already thought Jupiter looked great on the “before” wow! These videos have been so relaxing. There’s just something about seeing old things being made new again. Great work once again!
Jupiter was my favorite sailor scout. I have been following all of the doll re-styling, and it is so satisfying to see my favorite sailor turn from well-played toy into a lovely adult display piece.
I hope the next one is a double feature can’t do the power couple separately

I’m glad you did the curls in her hair, especially since that was kind of a somewhat important detail in her introduction (at least in the manga).
Jupiter is my favorite of the inner senshi and probably my favorite character in general once I got to know her (manga and anime included). I just find her story very realistic and her characterization is just... *chefs kiss*
Anyway can’t wait for the next video. Neptune was my favorite character when I was little and I’ve never gotten to really see a neptune doll up and close, so it’ll be cool to look at her! I’m interested on if you’ll attempt her waves. And hopefully a certain “cousin” will show up too? 🤔

Try curling her bangs with a metal chopstick, check out dolllightful’s female demon video, she curls the bangs like that their! Warm metal chopstick’s like a mini curling iron(:

Dollightful tends to work with fresh new doll hair, I’m not sure how well the chopstick method would work on old frayed hair

My favorite restoration video. Jupiter's darker hair makes it really easy to see how shiny it got after washing it and it looked even better when you added the curl at the end

That curl in her hair ended up just flawless! I love how it swooped in the box. I am so excited for your Neptune restoration, too! I actually tried restoring mine only to find that she had defective hair plugs. I tried so hard to fix her hair but some plugs were very short, others were long, her part was far from centered AND I had two of those weird hair loop bundles near the head that you had to cut out in a different video. I wish you luck in your projects, it's really fun watching others take on this process as well!

Sailor Jupiter is my favorite, she looks wonderful here you did a great job!! For the twist ties, you might think to use light-weight picture framing wire. It's thin, they usually have a plastic casing or vinyl coating, and are very easy to bend.

I reccomend putting conditioner in fhe dolls hair and brushing tbe doll out so the dolls hair will be lese tangled after detangling, if the dolls hair is extra tangled, you may have a risk of making it more tangled instead of detangling it, and a plus it could act as a moisturizer for the doll if the doll has dry hair

The curl you did on her looks great
If you have to get smaller curls and have to revert back to straws and bobby pins I'd recommend placing a piece of paper towel over the hair and placing the bobby pin end over them. I do that for my gen 1 My Little Ponies and haven't had any rust stains! This also helps to keep the curl tight around the straw so it comes out a little cleaner.

Little tip to avoid the rust of the Bobby pins getting in the dolls hair, use another straw cut open through the middle and place it on top of the hair that’s already wrapped in the straw and then put te Bobby pin on top just,make sure that the other side of the Bobby pin is inside of the straw that’s complete and that is not touching any part of the hair.

As someone who styles wigs for costumes, o get more of a curl, wrap the hair in the roller and use a steamer, let it dry and set and you can do it a couple of times to get the hair set, works great on pretty much all types of synthetic hair

For the wires I'd look at Hamanaka Armature, it's for needle felting and crafts but to me it's really similar to the wire that holds dolls in the boxes
I had a similar problem finding wires! I had a moment of realization during a course on computer hardware that - surprise - the wire used for binding toys is just cheapo electrical wire. 🤦♀️*sigh* You can buy a variety pack of 30 gauge wire on Amazon for, like, 2¢ a foot...

You can use plastic straws over the bobby pins in order to keep using them! So in case they're a tad old and could be rusted then you'll be able to continue to use them!
If the hair bobble elastics ever snap again I would try using thread to tie it around the elastic ! Pullip dolls do that for the hairstyles so you don’t have to worry about redoing an entire hairstyle when the elastic dry rots

heated metal chopsticks seem to be a favorite in the doll costumizing community since they work well-curling nylon and acrylic yarn. The channels Hextian and Dollightful use them a lot in their repaints.

I have been wanting to tell you since your first Sailor Moon video, because in it you mentioned that you did not like the original blue pumps after transforming your schoolgirl into a Princess Serenity, that you should consider painting her shoes white with acrylic paint, then glazing them with a irredescant nail polish for the desired effect? I do doll repaints myself, so painting shoes is my go to answer.
Anyways, love the restorations.
I ended up finding a pair of the white pumps, but there is definitely some shoe repainting going on in an upcoming video :)
You could use twist ties to secure the dolls in the box, it might be gentle enough not to stain
Main issue with twist ties is just that they're usually not grey and also they usually can't be cut to a specific length

When you're done with all your Sailor Guardian dolls, you should try getting a second-hand doll online and turning her into a custom doll of an OC Sailor Guardian!

I use ribbon/sewing thread/yarn to tie the doll to the box. I use this method for my dolls instead of wires because I'm scared the wires will rust.
