Charles Dahmital I came from watching Jason Newsteads new video from his Band after Metallica and watched this trying to figure how the fuck this came after heavy metal. And how come I watched it.
Okay I'm completely unlearned about this sport, but these two things should be universally agreed: 1. That was an incredible shot 2. The guy has such humility
I had never heard of this sport and then about a month ago it came up when looking for a bowling video and it ended up being this match. I wasn't familiar with any aspect of this sport except for the fact that I knew when I saw that shot I saw something pretty special. Instant fan after seeing that.
It's a hidden sport in many countries and we often fight the perception that it's strictly an old persons game. I'm so glad you found the video and it caught your interest. All we want is for people to find the sport, give it a try and hopefully they find it as much fun as we do! Thanks for stopping by!
After the Final ended, Mr. Nick Brett was arrested by the police, for breaking every conceivable law of physics, not once, but twice! Seriously, even for those who have seen little to nothing of Lawn Bowls (like myself), those shots are simply awesome!
The clip of this one end of Bowls is what started me watching the game. 2:30 - this should be impossible but everything that set up this situation was what genius is made of.
My gosh. Many times in sport when you do something really special, it is hard to keep the focus. I am therefore even more impressed with the awesome follow-up bowl he did. Fabulous!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I just discovered this today on another channel. I had no idea this was a thing. As I said this is kind of like curling for people who love short pile carpets. :)
I sure am glad I just learned the rules to this game 5 minutes ago to appreciate the magnitude of this incredible shot/bowl. Closes one to the Jack? A wonderful shot.
I have no clue about any of this, but as someone who was a kid who liked to try to play tons of games that consisted of getting something closer to another thing, this was spectacularly played. The inner child in me is very jealous.
I think the vast majority of bowlers do. It's a tough time right now as most of us are missing the social interaction, the fun and laughter and just being at the club and enjoying the sport and activity. We'll get back there Richard!
Yep! it's further good to see pro-lawn bowls on quick surfaces. In Australia, especially for TV audiences, they slow the green down to make the game go faster. The Commonwealth Games was a perfect example of that. It takes the skill right out of it.
For me honestly every game is ultimate precision game ... I mean I love when a footballer nails a perfect transition pass or a free kick... A cricketer(bowler) nailing a perfect in swinger ... Or a F1 driver nailing a lap in Monaco in quali or a chess player finding the godly combination to win a game... It's just pure bliss to enjoy mastery ...
It is chalk - they use it to mark any bowl that has touched the jack (white ball) as any of those that fall into the back ditch will remain in play where any other bowl would be removed as out of bounds.
It's a spray chalk to mark the bowl. Any bowl that is delivered and touched the white target ball marked and if it goes into the ditch it is still a live bowl.
If bowls was smart, they'd market themselves as curling without the ice and the cold. That way, a generation of fans like me who appreciate the movement of a stone would be able to translate that to bowls. Nick Brett is FILTHY. Like Ronnie O'Sullivan, some of the touch on his shots are masterful. Total control and pinpoint accuracy. Freakish to watch.
Bowls does a fair bit of marketing and each is a little different depending on the region (like UK, AUS, CAN). It's extremely tough to break the perception of the age of participants being retirees and above. We are working at it, but it's taking a long time to bring people around. Hopefully clips like this show just how skillful the game can be.
In this case they play 3 bowl pairs for speed and more skill. Some play a traditional 4-bowl pairs as well. Same format as singles and other formats where winner of the end rolls the jack in the next end.
When a bowl touches the "jack" (white ball) it gets chalked so that if that bowl goes into the ditch it remains in play. If any other bowl goes into the ditch it is out of bounds and removed from play.
Not sure what I just watched- But, I am mightily impressed.
Lawn Bowls is a great sport, skill and touch and a lot of focus. When you hit the top level, this is what you get.
Charles Dahmital I came from watching Jason Newsteads new video from his Band after Metallica and watched this trying to figure how the fuck this came after heavy metal. And how come I watched it.
Charles Dahmital . 😂
How have you not heard of lawn bowls?
this sport won another fan, now I have to learn the rules 😂
Have no idea what this is, but has to be one of greatest bowls one could ever see. That touch and skill is on another level. Wow!
Okay I'm completely unlearned about this sport, but these two things should be universally agreed:
1. That was an incredible shot
2. The guy has such humility
Cuál humildad? Su cara era de "si quiero lo vuelvo a hacer"
Learned about this sport through a meme had to find this video lol
Absolutely incredible. I love all sports and enjoy watching athletes who have mastered their Craft. What a couple of fantastic shots. Simply awesome
This is the top of the game type of stuff. Four of the best players playing on an amazing surface.
Oldest crowd in history of sports.
Where are all the young folks😂😂😂😂
@@kwabenaodurojnr.9613 They're all working!!

Skill of the highest order.

Oh 。み宮本武蔵細川たかし細川タカシの。みみやもとむさし
These are the kinds of shots that popularize a sport!
The clip of this one end of Bowls is what started me watching the game. 2:30 - this should be impossible but everything that set up this situation was what genius is made of.
Dude pulled 2 Ronnie o Sullivan level shots. First time seeing this sport and I'm hooked. Feed me more.
Been watching indoor bowls for a long time and that is one of the best shots I’ve seen in many a year.
Greatest consecutive shots of all time!! Absolutely incredible!! 👏🏼👏🏼🥇
I have always had a love for this sport, even as a kid.
That just has to be the bowl of the century !!!!
This needs to be an anime.
Yes. I want to see an anime all about lawn bowls. No joke.
Marshall after first Brett's roll: NANI?????
I think it would make a great anime. Takes place in high school. The drama would be epic.
Incredible shotmaking by Nick.
Remember watching that live on TV, stunning shot, great game.
Thanks for uploading. A truly wonderful shot.
My gosh.
Many times in sport when you do something really special, it is hard to keep the focus. I am therefore even more impressed with the awesome follow-up bowl he did. Fabulous!!! 🤩🤩🤩
So true!
I watch this every chance i get and its amazing every time
Holy heck that was wicked!!! I have sort of an idea in the scoring and strategy but damn that was threading the needle there!!!!
Come on that was one of the greatest shots in sport all round
This guy would be a ripper at parallel parking
Absolutely love this sport. A sunny afternoon and a set of size 5s heavy. What bliss.
...and a cold 10 ounce beer in yer paw.
This is incredible I'm beyond words
Everyone laughed when he was explaining , thinking that it’s not possible but they made it . Life lessons bro
He said 6 inches between two balls. That's why everyone were laughing.
They were laughing coz his partner said 6 inches between two balls
don't give this guy a boomerang.
he'll nail a bullseye from the back end.
I have never seen (well, at least remember seeing) this version of bowling, before. That was incredible! Such soft hands. Amazing.
Fantastic game, such finesse.
I play bocce which I love. I had never seen this until today. Impressed me very much!
Just pure perfection.
I've been showing this to some in my beach bocce league. Truly amazing. We all want to play bowls!
It's an amazing sport! Very underrated.
These guys are ridiculously talented
One in a million shot
Except he does a second one immediately afterward
Nick Brett is cooler than the other side of the pillow. Bravo, maestro! 👏👏👏
Here because of Ozzy Man's Sept 2, 2022 video. I've never heard of this game but am in awe of that throw and the follow up.
This video is about to blow up haha
now that was a nice bowl. the nicest i've ever seen and i've seen at least 4

It's an amazing sport, great community and it is super chill.
Wish I could play this sport to such perfection
Da paura!!! Maestro!!

So cool! Thanks for the upload! :)
Ridiculously talented
I don't know what kind of deal this guy did...
But since then the entire world is going 2020!
It's so calming to watch
Unreal!!
what a bowler💪
Any more clutch and we'd have to test him for something 🤣
The stuff dreams are made of. 😎
Both shots je threw were insane. He needs to be checked for alien blood after this match.
I miss doing this at worthing pavilion, into a semi final match not sure if and when it will be played. Miss the people and the fun we have
I think the vast majority of bowlers do. It's a tough time right now as most of us are missing the social interaction, the fun and laughter and just being at the club and enjoying the sport and activity. We'll get back there Richard!
I miss being able to see bowls at the Worthing pavillion. That pier also holds many memories
Utterly thrilling!
Probably the best end of bowls EVER played?!
On the forehand and then the backhand! That what is impressive. It's a quick green too meaning weight has to be perfect!
Absolutley -- I think the longer clip shows just how amazing these guys were playing. Not just one incredible shot, but multiple.

January 2020. Right before the pandemic. Would never see that crowd in 2021
03:52 Outside: not much expression on face. Inside: Says to himself "F*** me! That was unreal!!!!"
Had to come see this after MXR showed the split clip. Beautiful. More intense and interesting than any “professional” sport in USA
Is this like Curling but with Balls?
Here I thought that golf was the ultimate precision game... nope, this looks way harder.
Ryan Swanson it’s very easy to get the basics but when it comes to professional bowls then it becomes harder
Golf is not even close to being the ultimate precision game.
For me honestly every game is ultimate precision game ... I mean I love when a footballer nails a perfect transition pass or a free kick... A cricketer(bowler) nailing a perfect in swinger ... A very strange game, sounds so boring, but really fun to watch.
All I can say is to give it a try. You don't know what you are missing unless you try it yourself. It's a fantastic sport!
Bobmenery brought me to this
Me too!!! Closet meth..,.😂
Genius
Don’t know what I’m watching but I was impressed
Nick Brett, è fantastico. Saluti dall'Italia - Tuscany - Siena - Stay at home
love this
What's the stuff they spray on the balls after they've landed
It is chalk - they use it to mark any bowl that has touched the jack (white ball) as any of those that fall into the back ditch will remain in play where any other bowl would be removed as out of bounds.
LMAO, I'm just shy of 55 yrs old and this is the first time I've ever seen this sport
What are they spraying on the balls once they stop?
It's a spray chalk to mark the bowl. Any bowl that is delivered and touched the white target ball marked and if it goes into the ditch it is still a live bowl.
are they trying to land as close as possible to the little ball?
The object of the sport is to get as close to the white ball called a "jack". Lots of other rules and scoring also apply.
An ambulance was on stand by as well as a hearse
unreal!
We are gathered here today to celebrate the UA-cam recommend algorithm. See you all in 6 years when we gather here once again.

Only think I got from this was ball jokes are always funny no matter the age
Quel beau jeu
Un jeu incroyable joué dans le monde entier
My uncle went golfing with him when broke his hand lol!
I don't know what sport this is but I would trust that guy with my life
Which one was it?
That's some young, hip crowd watching this match.
Can someone tell me how pairs is set up.
I know single bowls with 4 balls each with changing turns and Jack throws right?.
But how is pairs done
In this case they play 3 bowl pairs for speed and more skill. Some play a traditional 4-bowl pairs as well. Same format as singles and other formats where winner of the end rolls the jack in the next end.
What is that spray for??
When a bowl touches the "jack" (white ball) it gets chalked so that if that bowl goes into the ditch it remains in play. If any other bowl goes into the ditch it is out of bounds and removed from play.
