When I started skating I rode goofy and did tricks regular. Both of those actions felt more natural to me. I eventually taught myself to just ride regular, but even today my switch manuals and fakie variants are way stronger.
I remember literally day 1 being scared to go up a ramp because the edge of it wasn't millimetre flush with the floor, watching this made me feel so nervous 😆 mad props to the guy for sending it though, pure bravery! I'm coming up to my 1 year anniversary of starting skating at 37 (technically i started at 36 i guess), in the process of making an EOY video, hope you'll be able to check it out, super proud!
Haha it's so fun to watch how people start skating, some really take their time learning the basics and others jump around trying everything. Your right though, if he gets over the initial awkward feeling on the board it looks like he would really enjoy it.
Skating to tryout in a good balance of switch ollie to reversing the stance of a skatepark to riding around the skatepark to creating some space while jumping on the board
I was stressing right along with you ricky but I was also excited for him just full sending and having fun. I admire him for going and asking for help and then spending the time there just sending it 😎👌 this shows there really is a community and people that want to help you succeed 👏 not all people are Dicks. Great reaction ricky, really enjoyed this 😊👍
It’s weird but fun seeing people learn to ride. I can’t remember that part thinking back when I was a kid learning but I do remember being taught to turn. It was just me riding straight then I pick up the board and place it to turn until my dad basically said okay you really need to learn how to turn now lmao. Funny thing it was also his old 70s board that he cruised with as a kid. No grip tape at all was pure wood on the top.
It is insane he just go for Drop In. I like to ride for 5-30h even more to feel the board and then can start to learn tricks etc. I hope he will do 3rd video. ETC ETC!
When i was 7, I couldn't balance for shit and the board had no safe center for me. Now I feel like baords in general, is intuative. Never give up just because of initial failure.
The first person skate park that he went to iSmile community skate Park and then he said the ball that he tried to go in for the second time was tiny it’s not because that’s my community skateboard and I’ve seen it it’s really not tiny it’s like an 8 foot drop
Gotta have it to the homie he is full send. He's only allowed to quit if he does a wallie 900 triple inward heel down Leon 25 to a manny to a switch crooked grind double monster flip out with a backside revert while playing flight of the bumblebee on a violin blindfolded.
I don’t think stance is important, one may feel better than the other but both are hard in the beginning so it’s kind of the perfect opportunity to learn both.
I dont really agree its kinda like learning to write in school, its too complicated of a task to learn writing left hand and right hand equally at the same time
@@rickyglaser it’s ironic that you say that because I’m ambidextrous from breaking my thumbs from skating 😂 I sincerely wish i started pushing switch when i was a kid
I imagine a lot of Ricky's viewers found him through Braille, I know I did, and a lot of them are probably beginners like me. So these types of vids are not just fun but also useful, because we get to hear his advice on how to correct a lot of beginner mistakes in a way that's not too far off of watching him give a live lesson. I happen to love this type of reaction vid because of that. Just my 2 cents
Yooo🔥
You killed it my guy, u want some free skate lessons lmk 👊
@@rickyglaser Preciate that, I fassure will in the future!

@@ryangoated2808 nice riding you were better than i expected im kinda at the same level as you keep grinding🫡

So stressful to see his stiff stance going down mt-everest. Sick video as usual, Thx for sharing!

fair play to the guy, dropping in is scary for beginners
The homie is definitely relatable. But he's more fearless than me. No pads, and just sending it. ....
I love when you do this type of video! I take notes on your tips and seeing other beginners makes me more confident to try myself.
yeah i saw this guy progress a little. Eli saved his ass lol. he did in a later video. he actually rolled across the whole park.
Always great to see these vids from other beginners and listening to Ricks advice so I can apply it to my own skating. Thanks Ricky!! ILikeSk8!!!
Love how he calls it mount Everest 😂

great video, really enjoyed your reactions and advice.. keep up the good work, thanks for sharing
This video was uploaded just in time for an hour drive
His real secret is he's trying to skate in no stance like the skategoat
When i was 7, I couldn't balance for shit and the board had no safe center for me. Now I feel like baords in general, is intuative. Never give up just because of initial failure.
0:09 I felt this.
"then I realized skateboarding was just about balancing so its not hard.... then my friend said lean back so i did"
*falls on his ass*
I thoroughly enjoy these 😂
the monotone voice of this kid just cracks me up, but good on him for giving his all
Walmart does tighten the wheels so they don't roll- at least near me in PA
At his rate of trying scarier things too fast, I was halfway expecting "7. bigger stairzzz" to cut straight to Hollywood High.
Dude I learned the only thing you can do to progress in skateboarding is to just commit with fear into anything you wanna do.
You should do some roller blading 😎
Let's go my home town skate park
That is a siiick skatepark

you can tell his soul doesnt want to be goofy footed... the locals LIED to him
