That be futile Florida is a right to work state. They can fire you anything they want, like them not liking that you part your hair on the left side of your head. ANYTHING Red-State policy for all you lowly workers, now quit complaining and get back on the assembly line or go home.
Even if they would win in court collecting is a whole other ballgame. And in the meantime they incur legal fees. The system is unfortunately stacked against them .
How could you let a bill add up to 10K $. Independents contractors have no rights, hell regular workers in Florida have NO Rights. Buyer beware. You have no choice but to wait a year or two and will likely get 25 to 30 cents on the dollar. On a Good Note everybody is hiring truck drivers. You boys and girls need to cut your loses with this outfit.
When you don’t get paid on one check, you LEAVE, if they couldn’t pay one, why would they pay 4? People owed 10+ thousand dollars, they worked for what a month without seeing a dollar? Fool me once, fool me 4 times
In trucking they are the only people that can keep your money it happen to me once in 2016 😢sorry tell they ain’t getting paid once you drop that truck off so if you don’t get a check stop right there
You can have your truck back when I get the money you owe me. I can't sell the truck but I have tools and people need parts just like my family needs to eat. Problem solved.
You can't do anything , it would be a civil case , and all they have too do is file bankruptcy and then nobody gets paid . They also can lie and say they didn't get paid for the loads so they can't pay the drivers . Trucking is a game of trust , and a game of risk .
This is what happens when the government doesn't govern business but the business governs the government. The government needs to stop allowing this type of business model to exist.

They are not owner operators. They lease trucks through the company and agree to pay for fuel in expenses and share in profit to pretend they are owner operators. But they work for one company, and have no freedom other than to pay for fuel so they park and go wherever they want…
Even employees can also not get paid. If company goes belly up and close there door....happen to me 13 yr ago... Me 3 other people lawyered up....and nothing happened...head company wouldn't pick up phone and changed phone number.....I'm out 1800 bucks..
Sounds like the only way you`re going to get you money is paying a lawyer more than the company owes you. right to work also mean right to be bent over and........

@@arthurbrumagem3844 you right about that.
I think these companies should required to place the funds in an escrow account and then escrow pays driver upon completion of loads.
The question should be asked why cdl holders have to prove their us citizens every 4 years and illegals don't have to,
Three different companies, three owners that are all working together as a Ponzi scheme in my opinion looking from the outside
Figure out a way to stick it to the shippers who treat us like trash. Eff them!
truckers always get screwed. wait till the recession of 2023 its gonna be bad
Ridiculous. If any company tells you to Pick up a check in person, you hold that load hostage.
but independent contractors have more flexibility than a typical employee would have .... have to take the good with the bad.
it’s miami!!!! you only go there a few times before then never go again!!! and i live here in FL
Yeah I went once and I ain’t been back since 🤣. It’s lovely tho.
We don't claim south Florida 😂
When you don’t get paid on one check, you LEAVE, if they couldn’t pay one, why would they pay 4? People owed 10+ thousand dollars, they worked for what a month without seeing a dollar? Fool me once, fool me 4 times
10k is like a week and a half worth of work for someone who owns a semi
In trucking they are the only people that can keep your money it happen to me once in 2016 😢sorry tell they ain’t getting paid once you drop that truck off so if you don’t get a check stop right there
What are you even saying....type that again
You can have your truck back when I get the money you owe me. I can't sell the truck but I have tools and people need parts just like my family needs to eat. Problem solved.
You can't do anything , it would be a civil case , and all they have too do is file bankruptcy and then nobody gets paid . They also can lie and say they didn't get paid for the loads so they can't pay the drivers . Trucking is a game of trust , and a game of risk .
That is why you have Unions they help you. But if you don't then they can do what ever they want to.
Drivers need to drive those trucks home. Refuse to turn in trucks and keys until they get paid.
This is what happens when the government doesn't govern business but the business governs the government. The government needs to stop allowing this type of business model to exist.
Florida trucking companies are always suspect
Can't the governor or Florida legislators do something to help these guys???
they wont because they are too busy fighting with disney,, the people are NOT their priority ,, revenge IS! vote them OUT if you dont like being treated this way, or just suffer!
As soon as I didn’t get my check deposited, I’m leaving the truck with the key inside on the side of the road.
Is it right? Nope, but I’ll do it.
Just one more slap on the face of the drivers who are quite literally the utter HEARTBEAT of the West. It’s been going on for f-ing DECADES. Enough is enough!!!
The trucking industry needs to SHUT DOWN the BLANK PERIOD if you think Covid was bad. Just think if if truck drivers actually knew their TRUE WORTH ! this would stop!
Once a company misses 1 check you STOP working immediately untill you are payed your money... Feel bad for those drivers, but at the same time you should be aware about all the scams in Trucking and be on the alert.. Specially when it comes down to your money
Rates are incredibly low. I parked my truck by my house and do dordash
Keep the trucks
The "company" might just be barebones now and have fled.
I'd start selling there trailers
Doesn't Florida have a labor board or labor dispute? I know here in Idaho we can go for labor disputes and get her money. But reminder standing these guys are independent contractors so I just put a lien against them for when these guys for that company that they were contract under go for bankruptcy
The next 5 years are going to be ones the world 🌎 will never forget. I promise you that
Make sure to file your lawsuits early before everyone else
That lawyer they got really gave deep details "In generality if they owe ppl money then their in trouble" and ppl pay this clown money for information. Plus every steering wheel holder knows south Florida is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to this industry, that's why no one wants to go that far south.
What protection.. you do a job ,you get paid.. simple...
Let this heartache be a lifestyle lesson. As an Indepenent operator you should be interested in two words. PAY ME.
File a lean and take the truck and trailer as payment!
I would have kept the truck 😂
For all who takes cheap freight., I hope you broke down and never recovered from it.
That’s great news
And I hope none of them get paid.
Hopefully they all go bankrupt and hopefully a few more follow them out the door. Take a few Punjabs with y’all 😂
With that kind of jealousy and hatred, you won’t succeed anywhere
All I know is you will pay me before that balance gets to 8k.
Diesel itself, along with many other expenses. File a massive lawsuit, but because it is a corporation it will probably be forgotten.
Drivers I feel sorry for y'all get a lawyer and attach a lien on property
Cheap freight doesn't pay the bills
Wow, that was a load of BS to just be told "research the company to yourself". These people work so hard to honestly put food on their families tables.
Hook up to the trailer they just dropped and high tail it off the yard.
If no one is there , and they "went under" , who would report the theft?
Contact the Attorney General and the other agencies to start the system working; that is the best method.
I keep waiting for my company to say this is it. Can hardly believe it hasn’t happened yet.
They are not owner operators. They lease trucks through the company and agree to pay for fuel in expenses and share in profit to pretend they are owner operators. But they work for one company, and have no freedom other than to pay for fuel so they park and go wherever they want…
Never let a company owe you more than $1,000 dollars, Fools for allowing this kind of losses. Never trust any one with money.
This is what happens when you haul cheap freight
Just jail the owners til they come up with. It will sort itself out in a week
Who ever owns that MC number can be found!!
every trucking company has a MC number on the side of the trucks
When the check bounces, take home their assets/your paycheck. Take that tractor home. It's got parts to sell.
Very illegal and will get you slammer time, you'll pay all $ back too with a penalty. Talk is cheap.
Even employees can also not get paid.
If company goes belly up and close there door....happen to me 13 yr ago...
Me 3 other people lawyered up....and nothing happened...head company wouldn't pick up phone and changed phone number.....I'm out 1800 bucks..
The company paid the lawyer more to stop trying.
Wasted even more money trying to take them to court.
Drop the trailers don't deliver the load
This is why you should never believe the employer.
Sounds like the only way you`re going to get you money is paying a lawyer more than the company owes you. right to work also mean right to be bent over and........
Yet these other guys doing a quarter of the work we do get severance pay? Really?
I'd be putting a lien on their equipment so fast...
I am sorry for my fellow owner operators the companies and small companies like mine are dying out here freight os cheaper than it has ever been and we have fuel repair and taxes and brokers are cheating and lying about money and shady brokers robbing us owning money GOD bless us
Where's the great Gov. in Florida and doing about this ?
They have insurance FILE ON THEIR BOND/INSURANCE. ????
truck driver or not this sucks! these guys got bills families and everything America just keeps on slipping backwards.
When the owners go to court , you will find the owners . 95/23
Feel bad for those people, today's economy its shaky, I'm unemployed for 2 months, something has to be done to protect truck drivers, if we stop bringing the goods America will suffer, good report.
Owner-operators are criminals who would care what happened to them . With what they've done in the past concerning the power of the radio I'm sure they should be caught !
The Biden economy.
Trump was not so bad after all
The new way of robbing truckers in miami . New Companies takes scroll deposits then file for bankruptcy takes millions home then open againg with another name then you go to the police or mayors office they just say its not in their hands but whats really in their hands is most likely campaign constribution money from those thieves
So much for that WARN act?
Smh not our problem in all honesty yall signed up for that
Lot of truck companies going out of business lately. And freight is next to frozen.
F/F trans not paying drivers either. It’s spreading.
