Man I wish more police departments had a great social media team like Miami! These vlogs really (in my opinion) help bring the police closer to the community! Great job!
Thinking that maybe someone or some organization(s) should donate to departments not for wages, not for post investment profits, not for gear or equipment or furniture, but should donate for departments to create their own media teams. Could do alot of good. Could possibly have someone from miami teach other departments too. Just a thought

We use to call the cross strap the widow maker. Because in a close encounter the bad guy could grab it and try to take control.

I was wondering if the horse is always followed by a police cruiser and when the horse is responding to an emergency, since it doesn't have any emergency lights mounted on it, how would others know if it is responding to an emergency?

Some units usually call out orders, few carry megaphones or other equipment like speakers attached to the radio unit.
Basically just keep an eye on any mounted units near you, teach kids how to safely be around a horse and try and keep a safe distance when they are actively working!

Bits are uncomfortable for the horse anyway. But cute vlog. I love horses. My dad is a retired lieutenant with BSO he's always had 3 or 4 horses living in broward. Now he lives in Ohio and has 12 horses. They're great animals

They are some lucky horses. I worked on ranch’s and feed lots my whole life. We never gave them baths just a brush at the end of day
I love how they let them roam around a little bit instead of keeping them in the stable the whole day.

3 things. He needs to keep his heels down to stay on that horse. A thicker pad with the western saddle. And he’s slightly too big for that horse. Oh and also galloping on the street can cause damage to their bones and tendons

its kinda funny this was our division for the week, I just spent the last three weeks guarding a stable that caught fire at a resort.
Did have a question though, does Miami PD have a movie unit and if so do they just provide traffic control and security or do they actually get in on the movies too like 2Fast 2Furious and Bad Boys 1 & 2?

Have you trained with dropping your camera if s**t hits the fan and you need to deploy something from your belt? I highly recommend it if not, when the time comes your body is going to tell you don't drop the camera and that could prove fatal for you or a fellow officer. As always good video and stay safe brother.
The camera will be long gone before anything happens to us. Officer safety is priority always!
