I love how people just completely forget about RDR 2 as if it wasn't the last thing they've made. Grove Street Games handled the trilogy remasters. And yeah, that was a really dumb decision, but it's not a situation where Rockstar just completely forgot how to make good games. They chose poorly. Wait until GTA VI before you start assuming the worst. I know I sound like a fanboy (and I kinda am, I guess) but people shouldn't panic before we even have a glimpse of VI.

@@mog7501 they went overboard with RDR 2 times over which led to a reform. There's nothing you can push for gta 6, gta online is so broken everywhere, cuckstar needs to address the game breaking bugs
I think one big thing Rockstar needs is more interiors in GTA. Even if it’s just the podium/lobby areas for skyscrapers and then maybe one or two floors near the top, that’s still more than most of what they’ve got now. And what about that huge mall near the Ponsonby’s? That would’ve been great to have a lot of stores in. I also think more overall world interaction would be good; I miss that they took out the ability to go into a Burger Shot or the chicken place and actually sit down and eat, for example.
@@justanotherghost4589 Or actually be able to order at Burger Shot or Clucking Bell again. Go to the gym and actually get ripped. They had tennis, so why not be able to use the gym equipment on the beach?
4 had that with a lot of locations. Anywhere you could enter for missions was open, and there were even some extra places. V was lacking in so many areas tbh
San Diego has huge potential for a GTA game. It's right on the border with Mexico (cartels, people smuggling?), has lots of military bases (secret weapons and stealth break-in missions?) and has a huge biomedical industry, which has a story potential too.
I know Southern San Andreas(GTA5 Map) better than my own hometown. I can navigate without a map or GPS. Rockstar did such a good job to make the world feel real. I may have been born in Massachusetts but I was raised in San Andreas.

TLDR: they suggest a few things that range from “might be possible” to “sending game makers to the torture chambers”. Even only keeping suggestions to “might be possible” can lead to catastrophic failure while making such a game. Non game devs talking about what they’d want from a game. It’s hopeful but not possible. Add too many systems to a game which might clash then you’ll be dealing with more and more bugs. A massive landscape is totally possible to make within a game, even if it’ll take a stupid amount of time, but adding destruction to each building? That’s a piss take and a nightmare for artists, developers and technical artists. 300 players is also a stretch (and hell with destruction physics). Possible, but a stretch. It’d be easier on their servers to make it possible to seamlessly slide in and out of servers depending on what region of the map you were in, with a proximity chat, but that’s still a stretch.
Destruction to buildings is probably the dumbest thing anyone can ask rockstar to do. It’s cool but pointless when there’s already so much attention to detail in these games that already make you feel like you’re in a real world.
@@tunacanjerry8693 yea it makes no sense for gta, its works in bf because it's a sandbox shooter with matches and limited chaos that resets every game.

Nah, it ruined exploration. In the other games I get to spend time exploring each area as the story progresses and I get familiar with it all, in V I couldn't tell you how to get anywhere from anywhere because I'd just drive all over the place between missions lmao
If anything. The competition needs to step up. Rockstars making billions of a game that is close to 10 years old. You are telling me other big studios can't invest to create a good match? The maps not even the problem, Watchdogs 2 has a good map despite repeated assets. The problem is the game engine, driving and shooting in the other open world games is atrocious. And even if one turns good, the other doesn't. CoD Warfare is open world, obviously the shooting is better than GTA(not by a lot), but the driving is atrocious, worse than watchdogs(or cyberpunk). Rockstar is just too comfortable to make anything fresh. They are asleep at the throne.
As someone who grew up in New York, everytime I play GTA 4 I get nostalgia. Everything from the Duplexes near the train tracks to the tolls you have to pass in order to get to NJ captures the exact feeling of what it’s like to be in NY.
What is underappreciated in terms of RDR2 map design is that they made a large state (New Austin) with loads of easter eggs, two towns and more, when you never go there in the story or in side quests. You're only able to go there starting the Epilogue. That's genuine commitment
Mafia 1 did this as well with the city of Lost Heaven having a countryside outside of the city map where you only really go for a number of missions to single locations but Instead they made a whole area 90% you will never go in the story.
Well its the map of rdr 1 so they didn't make it just for rdr2. But it's cool tjat they included it, i would love to see San Fierro or Las Venturas in GTA V

Less limitations means more room for detail and expansion which will undoubtedly take time. Rockstar has made their name with simulation of life in their games so I know they’d take their time.
People need to stop playing gta online thats all and i read somewhere that rockstar stop making another single player dlc after realizing they didnt make money as much as their multiplayer dlc so please if they make one in the future consider buying it
The problem: they’re so desperate for any money they could get going as far as making RDR Online cheap and tricking the new players into buying gold so they can get the new pass with a bonus of 10 gold which is only available in the first few days

Niko Bellic It’s not only Take Two it’s also Rockstar. Sure does Rockstar belong to Take Two but it’s not like EA where it’s a dictatorship over all the companies they own. Rockstar can make their own decisions and they decide to milk this game, it’s not Take Two only
its max the thing is , this game is not pay to win, and no one forces you to buy shark cards, but at the end of the day , they’re a business, they need to make money and make a profit
Me Or You I‘m not even gonna argue about it. Rockstar obviously only cares about the money and gives a shit about what the community wants, there’s no denying that. Of course no one forces you to buy a shark card, that’s not the case in any game. The point is that they are doing everything to get people to buy shark cards. Most if not all of the money making activities are made as tedious, boring and repetitive as possible and they slowly increase prices with every update, for example the VW Golf GTI that came out in the last dlc a week ago, they are charging 1.4 million for it. 1.4 MILLION! You don’t have to tell me they need to make money but they obviously value money over anything else, just one example is that they use p2p severs which are the cheapest available. They have many problems like people occasionally being stuck on the loading screen and much more. That further proves that they don’t care about the quality of their online game modes

@@huzzzer6083 Yeah, I mean rdr2 starting being made in 2012 or 2013 (not sure of the exact year) so already it 5-6 years and to make a better game more time is needed. @@huzzzer6083 People see that it's been 8 years since a GTA and assume Rockstar is lazy, despite the release of RDR2, which sparked a controversy for overworking devs. Like you say, the actual amount of time Rockstar has had to develop a new GTA is likely only 3 or 4 years.
That’s true but GTA maps are far less though out in the long run like RDR where you actually have land mass surrounding the whole map making it possible for future expansions like how RDR2 was. All GTA games take place on an island which is very strange but a funny joke at how Americans see themselves making map expansions really strange as the area would magically appear the next time you jump in like it was always there. It’s also a universe thing how Los santos in both SA and GTA V are very different.

one thing that i do find really strange is how none of the dlc vehicles spawn in online traffic, meaning if you play alone it still feels like the 2013 map. would be cool to see some modern hypercars driving around, lowriders, electric cars and such
@@darthwarspite8544 it's more realistic. In real life you see the same old boring vehicles in boring colors. Very rarely do you ever see anything unique.

Especially with the cancelled story mode dlc because to me after I completed story mode I felt it was half baked(mostly on franklins part and a bit on trevors too)
@Mercury Noone ever said they weren't, its just rockstar turned microtransactions into the only way to be good at the game and win, it became a pay to win game, which is the worst type of game to have when you involve multiplayer.
FishPants not at all, anyone who still doesnt have every money making opportunity in gta online is either new or simply shit at the game. everyone should have an upgraded mk2 by now
Even though Watch Dogs 1 barely even come close to Rockstar's level of map design and atmosphere I still think that if you look past the mediocre story and clunky controls it really feels like Chicago, the atmosphere is nice and looking at the city from far away looks just like Chicago. It captures that Chicago feel.
I think this channel is the only channel that can make an intro with that snog, and have it unironically be banger. Pretty visuals! Keep up the awesome work, king
Oof, how could you not talk about Red Dead Redemption 2’s map? It literally covers 4 or 5 different states and does an incredible job at capturing their essence.
If Rockstar pays attention to detail, why do many vehicles lack a 3rd brake light, many vehicles even lack reverse lights and turn signals. Also not every vehicle have a fuel cap unlike GTA San Andreas. Many pedestrian lights are facing the wrong way, many intersections doesn't have pedestrian lights both end of crosswalks. Have Rockstar never seen a intersection in real life? Rockstar attention to details my ass. You can still can underwater or even up high in mountains, which isn't possible in real life. All motorcycles have radios, which in real life only some models do. In real life, submarines doesn't have radio that plays music. Not all motorcycles have radios at all. Rockstar doesn't really pay attention to details. Cars can still play music, even there's no radio unit. Traffic lights are fucked up in GTA V or any GTA games, many intersections get green lights turning rights onto flow of traffic. Even SCS Software are better at programming traffic lights, no cars will get a green light onto flow of traffic.
The desert in gta v makes me feel like a warm summer night in the country. but what would also be cool is instead of them being connected you can fly to them via the international airport by going on flights that you are a passenger too
Red Dead 2 is by far my favorite Rockstar title, for the characters and their storys through the fall of the wild west. Charles is my favorite(dont kill me for not saying Arthur) because he was the one who buried the ones most loyal to Dutch, Arthur and Susan. He was also a beast of a warrior, almost as good as Arthur
You could have a huge map without missions like that. I would like to play at one area of the map for some time, then go on a road trip to another part and stay there. Just like it was handled in the single player modes of the gta series.
Rockstar needs to get their heads out of their asses and listen out to us the community as well as do what you people said and add another city to the online world
I love everything about this video! The production, information, opinions, insights, and the new perspective and appreciation it gave me for the games! I too, look forward to expansion they may give with their worldbuilding skills in VI, and in my opinion should bring back more interiors. (I miss being able to order in a burger shot or a clucking bell counter)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt should've been an honorable mention for an open world game that is on par with RDR2, etc. In the Witcher 3, there is great attention to detail with each region not only having its own unique atmosphere, but also having a distinct ethnic group for each region. There is also a bloody war happening in the background which is often reflected in the game world.
I don't really agree with that, just like in gta, once you beat the story in the Witcher it's an aggressively empty game, no one has new dialogue except for dlc and side missions mostly center around uneventful characters.
I want a new rockstar game where you can do everything in past games that they have made, like riding a skateboard (bully) or fighting so badass like in the warriors, or doing police work (old gta games), ambulance/firefighter missions, owning a business like in gta vc stories where you can be a pimp or protection/or gangs like in gta sa how sometimes you protect your hood and other time you provoke a gang war. Etc. I'm sure you get my point, we need more to do than just shooting people, I'd even like hunting like in rdr2 since animals react differently that people. Just everything
They also need to have every building in the game accessible to some degree. It would be fun to break into different houses and have some funny dialogue to go along with it. Maybe even some hidden special items you get from raiding special houses/buildings
Why the fuck would every building be accessible if that’s trespassing and that would be a huge game that would be a Terabyte or more. There’s no point anyways. We need Las Venturas and San Diego with Los Santos
12:26 I don't really agree with that statement. It looks normal like 2 of those houses were built at the same time and the architects wanted the buildings to look very similar. That happens in real world as well. I don't see this as a mark of laziness. WD2 map is super great as well as GTA's.
@Toby MacDonald watch dogs 2 was an actual recreation of san francisco. Player are rewarded for exploring the map and taking pictures of famous landmark they also hide upgrades and stuff for players to find and sometimes you have to use your brain to slove it. Unlikw in gta v The collectables only give you a % on a completion screen. You are not rewarded for taking pictures and exploring the world watch dogs 2 was a sleeper game because it was released in 2016 same year as Call of Duty and Battlefield 1. Also its GTA. Everybody have heard of gta at least once in their life and if rockstar sell a peice of turd and call it GTA people will buy it
I would love some kinda map expansion, I already spend hours in story mode driving up to paleto bay and back, so if gtao added new areas I’d be so much more motivated to hop on and either fly or drive from los santos to liberty city
Trust me dude, not matter how big the map is, you don’t want 300 players in a lobby at once

I would like to explore airports.
@@justanotherghost4589 Or actually be able to order at Burger Shot or Clucking Bell again. Go to the gym and actually get ripped. They had tennis, so why not be able to use the gym equipment on the beach?

San Diego has huge potential for a GTA game. It's right on the border with Mexico (cartels, people smuggling?), has lots of military bases (secret weapons and stealth break-in missions?) and has a huge biomedical industry, which has a story potential too.

Shit I can imagine the lag you would get from destructive environment
Destruction to buildings is probably the dumbest thing anyone can ask rockstar to do. It’s cool but pointless when there’s already so much attention to detail in these games that already make you feel like you’re in a real world.

There is also a bloody war happening in the background which is often reflected in the game world.
I don't really agree with that, just like in gta, once you beat the story in the Witcher it's an aggressively empty game, no one has new dialogue except for dlc and side missions mostly center around uneventful characters.
But the story itself is far more open and every quests is actually a real thing not a filler like a lot of games (gta included) do
I want a new rockstar game where you can do everything in past games that they have made, like riding a skateboard (bully) or fighting so badass like in the warriors, or doing police work (old gta games), ambulance/firefighter missions, owning a business like in gta vc stories where you can be a pimp or protection/or gangs like in gta sa how sometimes you protect your hood and other time you provoke a gang war. Etc. I'm sure you get my point, we need more to do than just shooting people, I'd even like hunting like in rdr2 since animals react differently that people. Just everything
That will take a long ducking time to make maybe 14 years and map will be huge
@@gaveup1504 well it will almost be that long since the last gta lol
I FINALLY FOUND THIS VIDEO, I've been searching this video since September, and now I can finally tell you thanks, this video is just perfect
The editing is incredible!
They also need to have every building in the game accessible to some degree. It would be fun to break into different houses and have some funny dialogue to go along with it. Maybe even some hidden special items you get from raiding special houses/buildings
Maybe a random chance Easter egg where someone mentions this isn't legend of Zelda (or GTA's in-game version) and barge into people's houses.
Kind of like assasin's creed unity where you eneter some houses from the window or some shit
At least public areas such as shopping mals
Why the fuck would every building be accessible if that’s trespassing and that would be a huge game that would be a Terabyte or more. There’s no point anyways. We need Las Venturas and San Diego with Los Santos
Like the gta SA burglary side missions
12:26 I don't really agree with that statement. It looks normal like 2 of those houses were built at the same time and the architects wanted the buildings to look very similar. That happens in real world as well. I don't see this as a mark of laziness. WD2 map is super great as well as GTA's.
@Toby MacDonald its still a good map nonetheless
@Toby MacDonald well it compares in many aspects. and also wins in many
@Toby MacDonald but can gta 5 pet the dog?
@Toby MacDonald watch dogs 2 was an actual recreation of san francisco. Player are rewarded for exploring the map and taking pictures of famous landmark
they also hide upgrades and stuff for players to find and sometimes you have to use your brain to slove it. Unlikw in gta v The collectables only give you a % on a completion screen. You are not rewarded for taking pictures and exploring the world
watch dogs 2 was a sleeper game because it was released in 2016 same year as Call of Duty and Battlefield 1.
Also its GTA. Everybody have heard of gta at least once in their life and if rockstar sell a peice of turd and call it GTA people will buy it
@@mrmoztaza yes. you just can't accept the fact that u can't pet dogs in video games
Most remarkable thing here is the edits of this video
This is some awesome editing!
im convinced you have like a whole animation company working for you
The editing is insanely well done!
I really love the work the editor did
I would love some kinda map expansion, I already spend hours in story mode driving up to paleto bay and back, so if gtao added new areas I’d be so much more motivated to hop on and either fly or drive from los santos to liberty city
