- Institutional delivery means giving birth to a child in a medical institution under the overall supervision of trained and competent health personnel. It also signifies an availability of amenities to handle the situation and save the life of the mother and child.
All births are safer in a hospital or health centre. Having a delivery in a health facility by a skilled attendant can reduce chances of you or your baby becoming ill or dying. A skilled birth attendant is also trained to provide proper care for you and your baby after delivery.

Due to home delivery,My mom died giving birth to my brother as she wasted to much blood. We called the doctor but he remaineddrunk asleep and woke up only after banging the door for 1 hour. Later, he came rushing with two bottle of glucose and some equipments but it was too late. You know, before my mom died, she held my brother and sang a sweet melody because she knew, she wouldn't make it through. Had to go through lots of hardship and lost of life just to save some money. My mom would be alive and well if she was admitted to the hospital.
So so so sorry to hear that. It's making my heart ache. Nobody should have to go through such an ordeal. But wishing you and your brother the best. Don't ever let him feel that he is the reason for your mom's demise. He may become a man with a great testimony one day.

The way that medical officer shouted at the husband with such passion and anger in her voice really hit entire Nagaland. State Health Society Nagaland, please get at least 3 ambulances for this.

I have two worst experiences about child delivering from Naga Hospital Kohima...
1: My friends child is taking to Delhi for treatment due to the Nurse carelessness his son arm is paralyzed.
2: One of my brother wife died due to over bleeding, she was left unattended after delivery. She was groaning in pain he requested the nurse to let him stay with his wife but was not allowed. After gossiping in the staff room for an hour they found her death.
FIRST TEACH THE NURSE STAFF OF Naga Hospital to lower their pride and arrogance.
Murders are not only those with guns but includes wrong diagnosis too.
The NHK Maternity ward has so many blood on their hands. I considered this place as MORGUE.

Hehe reminded me of my dog bite incident. The nurse administering the antirabies shot to me was so cruel. Stabbed me with the needle into my ass like I was a bag of saline. It hurt for a week.

My mom is also an ASHA worker too. It's true that govt has many schemes in regard to giving birth in govt hospitals, going for regular check ups.

Indeed a good advice but problem lies in the hospital. Some Doctors and Nurses/Sisters are very weak in their hospitality. They're rough and careless sometime which is a big issue in such hour. Moreover, some hospitals are way expensive which the poor cannot afford.

This shameless people don't even spare jsy scheme. Both my child delivery was on government hospital dimapur yet we didn't even get a single penny. I personally inquiry about the scheme on both occasion they said the person incharge is not present today so do come tomorrow.
This video makes me cry, because most of the pregnant mother suffer enough during labor pain. When we talk about ambulance, many of the medical team doesn't avail ambulance for emergencies purpose. Pray and hope that this video will bring some changes to our Naga society.

How I wish govt. schemes are easily available as it is shown in the video. In reality, it's totally a different picture . The sky will turn green if the ambulance comes to our doorstep to pick us, that too free of cost. But having said that, It'll be a great relief for the people if such services are provided.
