Manfred Ruhmer Swift-ing Pretty Good at Lanzarote

Manfred Ruhmer the champion pilot and developer, makes an old dream come true by flying mostly without engine his Swift-Light E electric glider over the unique natural beauty of the island of Lanzarote. Logically, only in the areas allowed for the practice of free flight.
Lanzarote is the biosphere reserve and has national and natural parks on the Island itself, as well as in its surroundings, La Graciosa, El Archipiélago Chinijo, Timanfaya, etc. where it is not allowed to fly. However, respecting the maximum of not flying the restricted zones, Manfred has solved with the visits walking or with his van to the wonders of nature in their intact and uncontaminated state.
The Swift electric glider is developed by Manfred himself at Icaro 2000 where he is the developer of the Swift, hang gliders and other gadgets that Icaro makes.
In all the flights he has shown that the flights are fun and safe, and he also flies with the Swift's battery, only 3 kW / h that has a range of approximately 60 minutes. However, Manfred is capable of flying for more than 4 hours. How is this possible?
He simply uses nature to his advantage, looking for thermal columns, the contours of and slopes of volcanoes, the wind, a great experience as a pilot and his refined flight techniques.
The electric power is only used to land / takeoff and as a small help in case of suddenly losing altitude when moving away from areas with thermal activity.
In this video Manfred also reveals some repetitive flight techniques and what are the keys to an acrobatic flight, close to the ground with impressive turns and loops, especially if we take into account the places he normally chooses to perform acrobatic maneuvers at high speed. Pretty Good!
