always thought this era of sound design was so cool (especially Nintendo consoles from the DS to the Wii U) because I never could figure out how it was done, should've known it was mostly just sine waves and automation haha
this hits those feelings perfectly, love your take on this one ❤❤
This video has made me realise how logo sounds or sounds for games sound effects goes along way.
Long story short small details in things like sounds adds to the overall quality of life.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with logo sound designing. 😇
probably one of the best audio visual videos on all of youtube. i know your style is to have text at the bottom, but would love to see the text above the DS screen so I can keep up with what you've been adding effect wise!
this reminds me a lot of 'collapse (demoware)' by seiho from 2015-ish actually ... amazing inside look into how that kind of sound might've been made!
Such an amazing tutorial! I just handed in my university assignment last week where i had to create similar botanical sound design/ambience, would have been useful for then hahaha
woah that’s some mesmerising and innovative sound design, I loved all three but my favourite has to be the first one
Awesome video, love to see your workflow
Wonderful tutorial, thank you for sharing some of your process on this beautiful genre of music.
Awesome tutorial! Love those beautiful sounds!
So many professional skills in just one video, thank you for the tips!
This is such a unique concept! It really does go with the logo quite well :PP

hi, love the video, whats the hotkey you used at 0:46 in order to create a new midi clip in the selection?
Ctrl (Command) + Shift + M !
me when phritz phritzed : 🤸♂🏃♂
what sample libraries do you have with all these cool sounds like “wind chimes” and other things?
the windchime is prob just some sample I got from splice! the foley sounds are either stuff I recorded or just sounds from lofi sample packs
this is super inspiring. also these m4l devices for the orchestral dynamics and sustain are real helpers. are those in your patreon?
thanks, and yes!
@@phritzmusicI just subbed to your patreon but can't seem to find keyswitches ii. Where is it?
@SideFlame ah my bad, i thought it was up there but I guess I haven’t posted it yet, will get it up in a bit! Sorry for the inconvenience!
haha no problem. thank you! @phritzmusic
may i ask where do you usually get those foley samples? thank you phritz! :)
i would wanna know too
this one particular foley sample used in this video is probably a sound I recorded/made myself, but other than that I have a collection of packs from Samplified, Mr.Bill, Adobe Audition (downloadable from their website), and splice (the obvious one) to name a few.
botanica gang
what does that keyswitch-device do?
it’s basically a little handy tool that can switch between the articulations inside of BBC symphony orchestra (or other orchestral plugins perhaps) without having to open up the plugin UI!
hey! I've been trying to figure this out for a bit, what device do you use for the video?
which device?
@@phritzmusic oh lol i have no idea how I didn't clarify on that, the m4l (?) device you use for the nintendo DS logo video
@@IDGs_space could it be the ‘bokeh’ or ‘romb’ device you’re referring to? they’re both from Fors so highly recommend checking them out!
@@phritzmusic I totally love fors stuff haha, but im specifically talking about the video player that you use for the DS intro, it looks like it's connected to ableton since when you play the piece in ableton the video plays in sync too
I made the assumption that it's an m4l device but I could be mistaken 🙏
@@IDGs_space OH that's just the built in ableton video player, simply hit 'ctrl + alt + v (or cmd + option + v on mac)' and it'll pop up!
what's that "octave repeats" thing
can you give me a timestamp?
@@phritzmusic 1:50. I look it up but couldnt find anything, hope you can link me
@@nokiaaingeloh that’s the ‘Bokeh’ device from fors!!
this video is giving dullscythe
i thought botanica was over, novel killed it or something
love u phritz i mean no disrespect i just didn't think you would be making botanica videos haha
incredibly frustrating to try to follow along with, maybe cool it on the time-lapses next time. and before you say "well if you subbed to the patreon you could dissect it yourself" i did!!!
