I just did a 4.3 mile ride out to Lake Las Vegas from my house on my Gotrax XR Elite, I didn't ride it back because I wasn't sure of the battery range, I was at half bars on the battery, there's a lot of hilly terain which does wear down the battery faster, but the ride was pretty smooth and easy.
The LAST thing I would want on a scooter is airless tires. They reduce the top speed, reduce the potential mileage, create a less comfortable ride, and put more wear and tear on the scooter and your body. They're also incredibly slick on wet surfaces making for a more dangerous ride.
Use slime/tube armor in your tires and take an air pump with you on your journeys (preferably electric/rechargeable). Also invest in motorcycle tire irons (about $12 for two) which allow for easy tire changes.
I've had both pneumatic (air) and non pneumatic, and I wouldn't wish solid tires on anyone.
I've learned this from my experience with hiboy and let's just say it didn't least long. It just broke down in less then a yr
I have 288 MILES on my G4. Only problem I ever had on this scooter was a blown tube. It's very fast and powerful. It climbs like a beast and I weigh 225 lbs give or take depending on the week. I disabled my digital lock.
how did it blow did you run something over or what? what psi u usually run
How many miles do you get on a charge? I think the scooter I received is defective. It only gets 5-6 miles before hitting the 1 bar mark.
Great review. I just got mine and I'm very excited about it.
My impressions are: I love the 2 security locks built in (the cable lock and the electronic lock). Living in a big city, I'd like to upgrade to a horseshoe bike lock so someone with cable cutters couldn't walk away with it, but for short-term, the cable lock is great.
It's pretty small and the handle bars are short. This is great when carrying it, but I find I need a death-grip on the handle bars. One good bump on the road and I fear my hands will come off the bars and I'll wipe. This is probably the case with all scooters. Just don't ever try one-handed.
The rear brake is sufficient, but pretty noisy. It sounds like metal on metal. Maybe all disc brakes are like that, I don't know. I'm usually in a car or have a helmet on my motorcycle, so the sound is buffered. These are small tires and so the disc is necessarily quite small for stopping the 37 lb bike, plus my 170 lb at 20 mph. I'd feel better with dual rear disks, but, at this price, I can't complain (oh, and don't touch the rear disk after stopping. It's hot. duh.)
Cruise control gets engaged unintentionally. A touch of the brakes turns it off, so never had a problem. I'm wondering why they even think it's needed. The throttle is really easy to press even long-distance.
I got the 500W motor. Surprisingly powerful, although there is a 20mph governor, which is probably a good thing. Any higher speeds and I can see it becoming very unstable.
Turning it on and off is harder than it has to be. Entering the electronic code and then press the power twice, but press the power again and again and again and again and then maybe it unlocks. I'm probably just an idiot, but I have trouble every time. Power off is just long-press on the power button. Usually it works the first or second time.

Most of my review is negatives, but really I love it. Once you kick it and go, it's really awesome, and SOOOOO much better than walking or driving in the city. Go right around traffic, never a parking problem. If the streets are blocked, just walk it on the sidewalk around the problem. A scooter is definitely the way to go!
Do a review update on the scooter from same brand you had last year. I want to know it's condition
I prefer the air tires for the smoother ride. Just a dab of slime in them, and check tire pressure twice a month. The main drawback for me is the braking. The GXL V2 has regenerative braking in the front and the disc brake in the back. With both brakes on, it has crazy stopping power.
Here is a Throttle tip for u guys that For some reason Gotrax never ever mentions 🤷🏻♂️ . The throttle only becomes active when the display changes from odometer to speedometer. So you don’t have to push the scooter faster or double pump the throttle, you only have to Waite two seconds after you push off, then the display will change from odometer to speedometer then hit the throttle and you are good to go. ………. You’re welcome : )

you might be the only one getting 23 miles on a charge, i've see most people get around 16 miles, i get around 13 on flat ground
Why not just take the battery out & lock it up??
Stuck between this and the hiboy s2 pro. Which has better real world range? Which would you choose if you could only have 1?
I would get the G4; better security. I can park this anywhere and quickly lock it to a pole and not worry about it.
@@ALLElectricChannel thanks. It’s a tough call. I bought them both. But I’m going to return one. Got a good deal on the G4. I’m just worried about the range, and that double throttle issue. Also, don’t live in the city. Not worried about security as much.

@@flatlineryan it never shipped. I bought it thru Walmart but the vendor was a scammer that never sent the item. Luckily I was refunded.
any thoughts on the g3? havent seen many reviews or info about it... i bought it for 400$ and its the same scooter. has the cable lock. passcode lock. everything, even same 350w motor, but battery is 36v 7.8ah instead of hte 36v 10.4ah on the g4. also the max speed is 15.5 on the g3 and 20 on your g4, do u think the g4 is worth the extra 200?
I think there is a misprint on their description of the G3 only has a 300w motor smaller tires and a smaller battery. I defiantly think it is worth the extra $ for overall power, ride comfort, and range. I would hate to see the range on a 7.8ah, the 10.4 is really the minimum you want because its range is not that good.

If the battery dies, can I walk with it home? My last escooter died 4mi from home and wheels lock up so I had to carry 28 pounds 4miles. Can I freely push this home if battery dies?

Great scooter much BETTER than MY hiboy max and XIAOMI. Use them for store and short trips and g4 for all around in between and built bulky AMD BIG all around and tires for tall PPL like me and 21 miles ad hour it can go faster I got 26 miles but I coast down hills neutral baby! ALWAYS get speeds the pre slimed tires are on this and rare BIG PLUS N FOLDING STEM AMAZING nit EVEN super scooters git that right YET! Gteeat security features to ..Getting mantis for my aggressive speed relieving rides then will be on way and getting my son into this to ! # ELECTRIC #Xtremesportstherpay
The tires come pre slimed so you're unlikely to get stranded. Airless tires would be horrible on this with no suspension.

Man so weird....guys that weigh way less than you have gotten 14-15 miles during a range test for the g4....perhaps you were going like 15mph or so instead of flat out
