Staying a night at the Spirited Away Sekizenkan onsen 🐉 | Gunma & Nagano trip | VLOG

- Still can't believe I got to spend a night at the Spirited Away Sekinenkan onsen in Gunma!
From the red bridge to the wooden building, the place looked straight out of a ghibli movie!
Dating back to the Genroku era (1691) Sekinenkan is said to be the oldest ryokan in Japan.
Hidden deep in the mountains of Nakanojo machi, the ryokan is in quite a remote area but as you approach the inn you can see traditional structures and shops reminiscent of old-time Japan.
When you arrive at Sekizenka Ryokan, you will be greeted by the famous red Keiun bridge and the main building, which served as one of the models for the bath house in the Hayao Miyazaki film, Spirited Away. The place is even more magical by night as the lights come on to welcome all the guests! 🐉

What was the first song in the video?
Thanks for the travel !
Please do not be offended if I point out that some travelers may be confused by this.
Sekizenkan (積善館) is the name of the hotel.
The name of the hot spring is Shima Onsen (四万温泉).♨
I love to stay in Ryokan especially at old city or town everytime I come to Japan instead of western modern hotel as long as my budget allows . So I can imagine how much this Ryokan may damage my bank account 😁
I don’t think anyone would be offended. You are just giving information.
Agree with above. The video description has wrong name. Good to give correct name.
You videos are enticing me to sell all my possessions and visit Japan even once in my lifetime . Its majestical
😂💕
Japan is one of my favorite places I’ve lived. I recommend everyone visit Japan at least once. Im moving back to Okinawa in 2 months I can’t wait
majestical?
@@hunterflyden236 Pay for me to and I gladly will. 😛 Some of us simply can't afford to travel. We can barely afford to live where we are. ☹️
@@Pat315 Absotively posilutely, my friend.😊
I lost count how many times I’ve watched Spirited Away and upon seeing that clip with that bridge and building plus the piano in the background, I got goosebumps and got teary eyed.. it’s just so beautiful!😍 I love Japan and would love to go back again and again🤞
Me to oh my god, it kills me too not knowing about the place when I was just in gunma last year, I could’ve gone there 😭
but this one is made different i guess
in movie the entrance building is huge
I would love to visit Japan one day 🤞
ぜひ来てくださいね!!!
The only downside of Japan is the people. The Japanese people are the most xenophobic on planet earth, and once you know the language, you quickly realize how the japanese people actually look at the "gaijin"
its so nostalgic when you can actually imagine the scenes from spirited away 💗
no I'm literally about to cry there are such beautiful places in japan i want to see. whoever gets there you're lucky just to have a chance to be there
spirited away was showing in disney channel when I was like 8 or 7 I only got to see the half of it and cried when haku got to know his real name, I saw the movie name, memorize it and so as the date and time it will show again then I waited and watched it again but now from the beginning. Years passed, I was 16 then decided to rewatch it again since I can't remember the bits of it. It feels as though I was a kid again 😂 so many rewatches happened next. Now I'm 21 Spirited away feels like home, it comforts me and at the same time it pains me to watch it for the nth time which I enjoyed watching since I was a kid. If I'll ever get a chance to visit Japan, I will DEFINITELY come here. これを私たちと共有していただきありがとうございます 💖
It's so relaxing to watch Sol's videos in the morning
日本人です。日本語でごめんなさい🙏
日本を楽しんでくれてありがとうございます!
そして、たくさんのコメントで日本に興味を持っていただいてるのを見て、嬉しくなりました😊
The bathhouse really comes to life at night! All the food looked delicious this trip - all the little dishes at the ryokan, then the pastries! Thank you for sharing
This would be a DREAM! I would love to experience this place, especially since me and my sons love Spirited Away
all your videos are so calming and relaxing! we're a HUGE fan 💖
Thank you so much 🤗 hope you guys enjoyed!
We can travel with him it’s just so cool !
This is the epitome of Zen, thank you so much for sharing this with us 💗
The "Zen" 善 in the name of the hostel means goodness/kindness, which is different from the "Zen" 禅 in Buddhism.
I am amazed at how well-maintained everything is in Japan;
everything always looks new and in excellent condition.
😍🥳
This is the best UA-cam channel to watch on Sundays! Very relaxing!🤗
Glad you enjoy it!🥰☕️
So peacefully organized video like a free therapy!!!
Having Cold sake after outdoor onsen looking at snow capped mountain is pure joy
A phantastic, calm video ! I really LOVE the Japanese Culture!
I could be watching your videos like forever and never get tired of it.
Always love your vlog. Beautiful shots and smooth editing as usual.
Thank you! Glad you like them!
The durability of those JR tickets are amazing. I still have mine from 2017 and it still looks brand new
Your videos are so healing and lovely, thank you for creating and sharing with us ❤️🥰
This looks wonderful. Loved the movie Spirited Away! I would love to go to this Ryokan and onsen.
In the Zenkoji temple there is a spot where you can walk in pure darkness and can’t even see in front of you.
Everything is just so beautiful
The Spirited Away bathhouse drew me in, and your vlogging style sealed the deal - you got here another subscriber! Love the calm vibes of your video. Hello from Singapore :)
This was such a brilliant video. The choice of film shots and your musical choices had such a pleasant and relaxing feel to it. The ryokan was absolutely beautiful, I really can see how it inspired Spirited Away, just stunning. Those apple pies with custard looked amazing, you can’t beat something like that on a chilly day. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching your previous content and your future videos. Thank you for sharing this amazing visit, best wishes from England
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it🥰
@@SolLife_hello, i really love your video! It was a nice walk-through of the ryokan, however i have a question, do you need to have a japanese post code to make reservations? I am hoping to book for me and my parents. On their website it seems to be the case, how can foreigners book sekizenkan without a japanese post code?
It would be a big help if you can kindly reply, thank you so much in advance! 🤗
You don’t know what your travel videos does to my soul ❤
Very enjoyable visit to an onsen and Nagano. The hot spring was very lovely. My Nagano favorite was the apple custard pie. So flakey. Thank you enjoyed your vlog.
This area is surreal. Beautiful.
Fantastic video. Thanks especially for the Spirited Away content 👩🎤🍱🧿👽🪬🎴💃🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've been to Japan, and your videos remind me that I must go back. Thank you
Your videos in japan make my day. 😌 Watching from nyc. 😊
Glad you like them!
Omgosh…. I had no idea this place was real. So many things in spirited away are real, it’s so magical 🤩😍😭
japan is so so so beautiful, one day I will see those landscapes fr
ahh, this reminds me of my trips in Kyushu - where we stayed in a small town inspired by scenes from Natsume Yuujinchou!! I would like to visit this one day, too.
I love videos that show the best of a country, culture, people, art, anything that's the "best" of. This video was so beautiful. I have no idea how many times I've seen "Spirited Away" and the rl location is as magical as the story.
This is the 3rd video of yours I watched (today), You do an excellent job of balancing a tranquil atmosphere and feel to your video while also showing the fun touristic aspects
Outstandingly beautiful places
Some of your videos makes me wanna cry.... ❤
SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL 😍 🤩 👌 ❤️
this bath house is giving me spirited away vibes👍
I used to live close to Nagano, so I spent a lot of time in the city but I moved away in March 2020...it was nice to see it (looking the same) 3 years later:,)
群馬県積善館まで行ったら、山の方の四万湖に行って欲しかった❗本当にブルーなんです、空みたいな色で美しいですよ。特定の季節の快晴の日に限るけど。
素敵なビデオをありがとう❤️
Thank you for uploading these amazing videos. I have wanted to have a stay-cation in Japan for the longest time. However my life has yet to afford me that opportunity; so it is awesome to see so many high quality videos seeing the wealth of diversity Japan has to offer. The abundant natural beauty, wonderful landscapes year round is so invigorating to behold--even behind a computer screen. (Not to mention the food that you show off) I wish you and yours the best in the coming year!
What a place so relaxing 😌
Thank you for the scene change (is that how they call it in cinematography?) That at least 5 seconds or more. That way we as a viewer could digest what you are going through the journey and feel like we're part of it. Most of the vloggers out there change scenes too fast it gives me headache though I would love to see their journey. Success for your channel and safe and enjoyable next trip😊❤
Nice! Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you liked it!
No Face is DEFINITELY lurking there somewhere!
The music, ambience, scenery and memories of this place create a pwrfect atmosphere. Must have been great to visit and stay at this place 😀👍.
Seus vídeos são maravilhosos, meu sonho é um dia visitar o Japão e estou anotando vários lugares graças a você, muito obrigado!

I was looking for a calming video of this onsen. Thank you!
Wow this is awesome, I never knew this place existed but it really resembles how it was represented in the movie
The place looks so enchanting ❤️✨
Are you travelling alone in this video. Planning to visit Japan in December 😍
The thumbnail really looks straight out of anime movie!
Hi! May I know what camera did you use for filming these? thanks :) @SolLife1
Planning for japan trip this dec & this pops up thanks gods.
Looks like i am giving kyoto & tokyo a miss this dec.
This motivates me to work harder for money. With enough money I can also effort to go to Japan and live such a life.
That looked like Noface standing in the door at 7:52!
One of my favorite movies, thank you for sharing and God Bless you always
Is there a tutorial somewhere how to obtain these (rail and bus) passes? It seems so complicated to me
btw this is a wonderful video, im in love with the beautiful nature and every place
Nagano looked great but I was really interested in the Onsen and hotel. It really did look like the one from the movie. I could practically see Sen (sorry, Chihiro :D ) running across the bridge at the end of the movie.
One question I have is how was the actual water. Was it really hot, scalding?
Wow Lindt Schokolade. German Schokolade hi I’m from Germany. That is such a beautiful video ❤
this video was so relaxing and so cute I loved it
Wonderful. 😊 I want to go there straight away. Thanks you so much.😊😊😊❤
May I ask about the specific trains and lines that you took to get to the ryoken location? Thank you! Great video and your channel is awesome as well:)
Hi, do you mind me asking what camera you used for your vlogs? The quality is so clear and nice! 🥰
