I have been listening to Joshua Maponga lately and have found his theology to be quite faulty to the point where he makes things up that are not in the bible. At no stage does the bible say or indicate that David was not legitimate, was the son of a concubine or anything other than Jesse's son. There is no record or mention of how many wives he had or concubines, anyone who says that is making it up.
The next part that is misleading is at 6:15 . This is completely made up. The bible says Samuel saw the eldest son and thought he was the one but the Lord said He had rejected him. This happened with the rest until he asked if there was another son and then David was called and anointed by Samuel.
David was not chased by Saul for 15 years. There i no time or date listed in the bible. David became king in Hebron at age 30 so it is improbable that david only 15 years old when Saul wanted to kill him. This doesn't even take into account that david served saul for a while and fought a few wars before the fall-out with saul.
I think it is important to read and understand the bible for ourselves or we'll fall for all kinds of strange preaching.

Unfortunately we have different understandings of scripture based on exposure to varying literature and research. Whilst i can't speak for him nor you i am convinced being a recognized scholar he has done his research beyond the present Bible(KJV,NIV,NEV etc) sold at CNA or Cum books which seeks to present a narrative for African oppression to be acceptable. I am aware that he has travelled the breadth amd length of Africa to seek the truth , i have also seen some videos of his showing the oldest Bible(found in Ethiopia) in the world being spoken about by an Ethiopian historian/curator.
