6:20 I just got a used 2017 mkz, and the one thing I will point out is that the screen has a auto adjust setting so that during the day, you have a white background and you can see it; when it gets dark, a black background so you don't get blinded.

I test drove many vehicles. When it came down to it I liked the interior, ride and comfort better in the MKZ. For $55k it is hard to find a creamy smooth 400HP engine. With a few key features i.e. 400HP V6, AWD & driver’s package, other midsized luxury vehicles felt inferior. As if the Lincoln had a higher-end quality interior and better total package. The seats are very well thought out & comfortable. Leather & padded surfaces feel soft and supple. It’s as if the Lincoln brand is trying harder since they have to thwart off the sport of American brand bashing that is constantly read in publications such as Consumer Reports. Furthermore the Drivers Package adds AWD w/dynamic torque vectoring which intelligently applies power to the rear wheels when driving aggressively. With the package torque steer under normal driving is gone along with much of the understeer typically associated with FWD and some AWD vehicles. In my opinion road isolation & ride are better in the Lincoln than say a Caddy, Mercedes or BMW. Cornering Gs is extremely ample with the all-weather 19” tires standard with the driver’s package. I would not opt for the summer only tires which hurt the ride. So if there is some impact from having AWD vs RWD it will most likely only be noticed at the track or with very aggressive drivers. Yes when you apply the full 400HP most torque goes to the rear but even the 30-40% going to the front can cause a slight pull. It’s nice they provide a per wheel instantaneous power read out so you know the rear wheels do their share intelligently (when you stomp on the accelerator). That said 99.999999% of the audience buying these vehicles today are not going to the race track and won’t notice the cons and most likely will appreciate the pros to this AWD setup. Drivers looking for a stable good grip on a variety of road conditions along with easy control and a sure footed steering feel will appreciate the Lincoln because it delivers. The MKZ is rock solid on the highway in cross winds on washboard pavement, etc. It doesn’t wobble across highway crowns because it’s a high performance sedan. That’s what the average Joe wants. The AWD with torque vectoring does its job and keeps torque steer under control and steering feel is precise; easy to thread the car through a needle. It is snow worthy to boot. BTW, I am not an ignorant just looking to be the expert and to hear myself speak. I know the difference between the Lincoln and a true sport sedan and opted for the Lincoln. My other vehicles are; a Corvette, Pontiac G8 GT (RWD 6 liter), F150 and Road Glide. The only cons besides the Lincoln name: scant rear head room, smaller rear seat than some, and weight distribution with AWD (not 50-50% front and rear like a RWD sedan). One more comment. Consumer Reports issue with the push button gear selector is really a joke. Anyone that is off the baby bottle will not mind the change. I actually think it makes a lot of sense to free up the console. Hope other brands do the same. A common solution amongst brands through committee would be best.

According to consumer Reports it is the quietest vehicle in the luxury segment. They didn't even test the V6 which is whisper quiet. It is unbelievable how quiet the car is even when whisking to 60 in under 5 sec. The V6 is silent

I have a 2016 Black Label V6 awd and I have to agree with his review very spot on, my complaints are the hit and misses on the quality. But that said awesome car/value for what you get. Great handling/ driving car, I only wish i had waited a year for the 400 hp one. The Black Label does make the interior feel so much better as far as the leather and look.

yeah man. the winged grill was much more appealing by a landslide as well as the slider volume adjusters. they put me in awe... I had a 13 and i did have the panoramic.... it was cool to drive and have the glass just there over your head, or crack it a little, but i will say.... having it fully opened did make it more difficult to see out of the rear window ( which was already difficulty to see out of due to the angled slope of the car) but ya kinda get used to it or work around it.... I just want winged grills back and slider volume adjusters... hey lincoln! you had it right the first time.. why change? any how.... my lincoln got totaled but i think i'll buy another... such a beautiful and inspiring car. I see one with a regular sun roof..... tho i'm used to the panoramic now, and the regular seems like a step back.... I may go for it because its hard to find these cars nearby and in price range and with the old winged grill... and the regular sun roof is more practical on this car... minus when parked and sun gazing or moon gazing or star gazing.

Another great review! I must admit there are things I liked as well as some minor nitpicks I have about this car. The reason for my message though is this, I'm curious to know your opinion on the use of 4-cylinder engines in a vehicle that is meant to reflect a smooth refined ride. My experience with 4-cylinder engines is that as you add up miles on the odometer, the engine begins to get a rough and raspy, not a sound I would expect coming from anything but an econobox.

I've been given the MKZ a few times as a loaner car from my local Lincoln dealer when my Town Car was in for service. While the MKZ is definitely a more contemporary car inside and out than my Town Car, the one big problem I have with the MKZ is the lack of headroom in the driver's seat. The roofline is much lower in the MKZ than in the Town Car... it's more coupe like... and the sun visor when up feels very close to my head. I'm 5'11" and I always feel cramped when I'm seated in the MKZ, even with the seat lowered. My Town Car might not be as stylish, but it's much more comfortable to drive.

I love the interior and exterior design. As good or better than the European and Japanese in terms of comfort and aesthetics in the same price range. However, at 2:00, I don't like the way the powered-trunk closed, though. It just drops like a rock, clunk and bounces. I wouldn't buy it just for this reason alone. I don't know why something like this would even get to production. Imagine if a child just happens be around and his hand was in the way. We might have to call him one-arm Mikey. Look at the way a 2004 Lexus RX330 SUV open/close its powered-trunk door, and it's a huge and heavy SUV rear door.

I think lincoln got it wrong by removing those features and just being more "normal" like everyone else.... I think the new "designs" stand out way less and are less of a wow factor and less likely to grab attention or inspiration.

That said, the test drive review of a Black Label would be identical to this car as the driving experience, handling, comfort and all items discussed would be the same regardless of what kind of leather and interior trims the car has.

And i thought my wifes V W CC got crappy fuel mileage at 25-26 for the 2 litre. My 2012 mustang 5.0 v8 gets better gas mileage than this lincoln.

Well, the MKZ Hybrid has better mileage than any you mentioned.

I get turned off right away by the over casual look and lack of self respect to represent yourself by not wearing a Shirt and Sport coat or white shirt and Tie and decent slacks..Your not a Pro IMO and most of you says has been shut out by my feeble brain as a result.. When I am going to spend more than you make in a Year, this is important-seeing as most who buy these Luxury vehicles are business people that wear $500-$1,000 Suits, etc daily and Like to deal with Like Kind types.. ( Discloser-We own 2017 - MKZ, CADDY-ATS and a 18's Lexus, all Lease cars from our Co..Testing out how their Maintenece Costs goes btwn them, then we offer them for sale( buy out) if they would like to have for their Personal car,,) This is the common Buyer of these Vehciles and has been for Decades..!

We get turned off right away by your over judgmental attitude, which says a person has to be dressed the way you think they should be before they they deserve your respect.

Still just looks like a fusion inside. A poor effort by Lincoln.

Wow, when I first saw this i thought Volvo. it's a bit of a rip off. The back end is still ugly as Hell. I've never liked the Lincoln Brand. This does nothing to win me over. I'll stick to my thoughts, Every time I see a Lincoln on the road, i see I guy who shoulda bought a Cadillac.

Cadillac had some nice designs years ago, but I"m not impressed by most of their current offerings. If you're a "Ford guy", you'll like Lincolns; if you're loyal to GM, you'll go for the Cadillac.

Incomplete is the best way to sum up this car. I love the front styling. I love the interior styling. The Drive train choices and AWD are pretty good too. Things that aren't right. Paint finish that is mottled in the metallic has no business being on a car at 50 Large. Inexcusable. Ford has gaps of quality that make no sense. Interiors are some of their weakest areas. Though this Lincoln is real good. Contrast that with the Latest Ford Edge which is lousy. Unlike finishes. Like a bunch of people from different companies putting that interior together. This one looks real nice. Not any nasty gaps, or obvious finish errors. Now things to address. Finish the styling on this car. It needs to ditch that dated swooping side profile. Remember the '61 Lincoln. Enough said. Great effort Lincoln. Now lets make it Job one to finish it. Almost a Lincoln fan again.

Vincent Chen completely wrong! I own a '16 model MKZ loaded. It's been flawless . Tuxedo black paint is perfect I've gone over every inch. Quality leather inside & materials more than up to par for the midsize luxury class. Ecoboost turbo GDI motors are technological wonders. New MKZ has a 3.0 L 400hp Ecoboost option! Much better choice than Lexus by far. Drive one!

Justin Bouche it's FWD like every midsize luxury cars in the class. AWD models are an advanced system that engages alot to give max traction & take- off ability. Technology/reliability/design make new Lincoln's winner. Love mine!
