I think the point is that the reason he was killing to start with was because of this curse, so the magical powers that made him an unstoppable killer can also stop him.
Exactly . The first couple movies built him up as an unstoppable force who kills without reason, only pure evil fuels him. Even if he is participating in this cult for his own fulfillment it goes against his character
@@mystiquefemme I think a lot of people come away from Halloween 6(especially the producer's cut) missing the point. The cult wasn't something new, it was meant to be there from the beginning, being the reason Michael became a mute, nigh-unstoppable mass murderer. You're talking about it as if Michael was a lone killer who answered to no-one up until 6 and suddenly the cult took control of him. No, they're the explanation for why he started killing to start with.
I like how even after getting rid of the curse of Thorn, Michael still doesn't give a damn, he's like "Okay I'm done with this place, now I have work to do" or someting like that.
Producer's Cut is infinitely better. It's a shame that there was so much interference with the making of it because this is only about 25% of the original script. How the studio changed the ending to a hospital scene that makes no scene at all and thought that was better is mind boggling. This was always the perfect end to Halloween, the twist of Michael being such a pure entity of evil that the cult never had any power over him. Putting the power and control as Michael's guardian into Loomis's hands is how it should have always been. This was the final true Halloween film as far as I'm concerned. The Producer's Cut and Theatrical Cut combo Blu-Ray sit proudly on my shelf.
''sit proudly on my shelf '' thats sad as its the worst film they made . Up with Ends as the potential was great . THIS one should have been a better story , flash backs to Michael as a child and how they ''got'' him but it was nothing . Just guess work for the audience .
Part 4 introduced Jaime Lloyd and its conclusions is directly continued in the beginning of part 5, in which that installment introduced the Mark of Thorn. Jaime is the reason and connection as to why part 4 is considered apart of the ‘Thorn trilogy.’
@@KingKahn85 - that's true, but none of the outlandish stuff was actually in part 4. When that movie was made none of the crazy druid, pagan, cultish, whatever stuff was intended to be part of it. It was basically a straightforward slasher that just continued on from parts 1 and 2.
Halloween 6 had a bit of a rushed feel to it, like some ideas weren't fully fleshed out before put in script, some scenes weren't looked at objectively enough times and worked on in directing. It was flawed. I am sure Donald Pleasance 's poor health was a consideration but I really felt in the scenes that didn't involve him, they could have worked harder. This felt rushed, low budget and half effort. If it has been given the proper attention and effort, it could have been much better.
3:52 OK I just noticed something different in theatrical cut. I see Michael’s mask and his hair has like a little bit long and messy and this producers cut. I noticed the mask has like buzz cut hair because it doesn’t look the same mask.
I liked the idea of the Thorn curse since it was first mentioned in Part 2. John Carpenter came up with it, and it actually gave Michael a logical/supernatural reason why he could survive such heavy damage. However, it was always the execution that failed me.
I was a blissfully ignorant horror kid and Michael scared me very much in this one lol I now know that this movie was very claustrophobic. A lot of victims were killed in small inescapable spaces
I still enjoy this movie but im extremely happy this producer's cut was scrapped. Even tho The Curse was all over the place the theatrical release was the best route!!!
Theatrical Cut was garbage trying to appeal to short attention span teens with all the crazy flash jump cuts and gore. Both Weinstein and Joe Chappelle were responsible for that nonsense.
It interesting how Michael Myers was able to remain still all throughout the ritual. When Tommy holds the knife to the cult leader’s throat, Michael doesn’t move, as if he actually cares whether that man lives or dies.
Why was it interesting to see how Michael Myers remain still throughout the whole ritual? What was he supposed to do??... Seems like you may have the character of Michael Myers badly misunderstood...
Atleast in the theatrical cut we get some more scary shots and the hospital room massacre and that whole scene..that shot of the door opening and Michael's shadow coming in and walking past is still horrific imo
yea the theatrical is much better. the plot is still awful but at least it’s fun watching him and paul rudd fight. this is just shitty demonic ritual and black magic with michael standing around a cult meeting and being stopped by runes.
as much damage blum , DGG and JLC did with ends , I am glad this ending wasnt common knowledge among casual Halloween fans . WOW . They did Michael and loomis dirty
Why was the soundtrack and sound effects taken out? If you're gonna post scenes from a movie do it right or don't do it at all. Geesh. I skipped to the end and was making a comment and thought the video paused or something as I couldn't hear any music or sound effects.
The Producer's cut is terrible ...a couple of scenes i wish they would add to the Tcut like Michael stalking Kara at College or Barry Sims going into the Smithsgrove sanitarium van ...other than that throw this in the garbage
Both version are flawed, but I prefer the theatrical ending. I also like the unhinged, off the wall style of the theatrical cut. The Producer's Cut has better material that should have stayed in, but it's so flat.
They had some cool concepts. The whole thorn curse was neat. But the baby thing was just weird and bad. I wish they could keep some of the concepts and throw out others. A cult controling Michael was stupid too.
Well at least this ending is more coherent and understandable. The science stuff the T-Cut threw in wasn't quite explained well and neither was Danny's role in all of it since the baby was now Dr. Wynn's focus to continue Michael's evil (as evident by those stillborn fetuses in the lab room and Wynn telling Loomis he had failures and Jamie's baby was a success). It was also left in the air what the cult needed Kara for as she was just locked in a cell for whatever reason.
@@quarantinebored1427 They both have their faults, but the Producer's Cut certainly has the more developed and understanding story that doesn't leave you off with more questions than answers. Also, Loomis has more to do.

Now I wish I didn’t...What I want to know now is why on God's Earth did they do this?! 1st: Why make Jamie have a baby at all? If their goal is have Michael murder his whole family, why add another addition to it? Isn't that just counter-productive? 2nd: WHY MAKE HIM THE FATHER?! Thats just...WHAT THE FUCK?! Why not let it be one of the other cult members then? It's not like he won't be related to the baby anyways. Like, these 2 decisions they make is so unbelievably stupid! What does the cult have to gain with all this? They single handedly made their job harder by impregnating Jamie, and now they've just made Michael a very creepy Uncle. This...This fucking movie man. I can't.
