What would YOU do with K♠ 5♣ on the river? Your Stack (SB): 68,800 Their Stack (BB): 68,800 Pot: 13,200 Board: 9♦ 5♠ 2♠ J♦ 8♦ You check, BB bets 5,500 A) Fold B) Call C) Raise to ... ?
The turn bet felt like a flush with a straight draw and the river bet felt like a stab after missing. Seeing the reverse tell mentioned would have also been a contributing factor to calling.
Tough, call fold rais. I would take a look at the history. Seeing somebody play 20 hands tells alot. No history, no call. A rais comes to mind aswell. If the person is a bluffer, you have a bluffcatcher and call. Love the way Jaka tells he is 'aware'. 80% of the game consist out of observing. Hands your not in, tell alot 😎. Thanks JL. Lovely channel from Jaka, for I will check it out. Thanks for the link 👍🇳🇱
I would be torn between calling and folding, but most likely call. The K5 could be the top of my check-calling range on the flop. I usually raise all aces and pairs if folded to the button, and I would make some bet or raise if I had the 9. And most straight draws that hit that river I would have folded on the turn.
You the man….raking in my cash game that finally started up again after two years off!! But I gotta ask….if we pause the video when you ask us to, why do you run a clock?? Lol
I remember getting my first tournament win with a K-high hero call. We were heads up I got a healthy chip lead and this guys kept ripping it every time I checked the flop. The first couple times I fold because I still got a chip I played a bit more tight. But the 3rd time in a row he did that we are about even and the way the hand played I felt like he didn't have anything and was just trying to replicate his success so far. And yeah, he had 10-high.
In a tournament I raised preflop with AKo. The flop missed and I checked. My lone opponent shoved. Seemed awfully bluffy to me so I called. My nothing beat his nothing by a wide margin....
Great 😃👍 video I'm an old 🗝️ School 🏫🎒 player but I've never bought into the theory about not 🚫 going broke early. I've always thought 🤔💭 that you make the best decision based on the hand you're in at the moment. I heard Doyle say, don't be scared 😨😳 to go broke in a tournament.(just like what you guys were saying) But I do believe in trying to stay out of tough spots if you can. I don't think 🤔💬 I'm a nit, but I'm ok folding the hand preflop. I know you're getting fantastic 😍 odds but playing that hand out of position doesn't seem great. For me playing that hand as a bluff catcher for 3 streets is a nightmare. Me personally I don't like to get very invested in an unraised pot 🍯 unless I flop a monster 💀. The tell on the end does seem 60 percent reliable because if he's value betting he doesn't want to give off a vibe that he's comfortable. He wants to appear vulnerable so he'll get a call.
5's are not likely good here. So to win, I need to raise. But what are the hand I would represent by raising? I think I would be repping the straight. And my action would be consistant wit that. If villain has air, a raise would fold him out or win with 5's. So if you don't believe you are up against the straight, raise to 20K would be a good move.
As a rule. I would have folded K5 and not been here. It also would have been difficult to raise and not fold the river. Once I saw the hole cards I was right but a smaller raise may have been a better choice. If I was going to put money in extra, I wanted to get some middle pairs to fold out, a smaller raise may not have succeeded.
I would reraise big. Opponent's raise is too small (almost the same amount as they raised on the turn with pot size 3k). We have streights, pairs, two pairs,... in our range.
I THINK IN THIS SPOT MY OPPONENT WILL HAVE SOME 87-86-JT and less nut hands because of the sizing so i would go for a raise to 19k that i think will make him fold
Villain's river sizing is wierd. If he's polarised on the turn, why is he suddenly making this small bet? I folded the turn, but now we're here and we need to be good, like, 23% of the time and loads of his draws missed, I don't mind a call.
Ok you need to pay 5500 to win 24.2K so u need to be right only 23% of the time. He has bet off 3 streets. In a multi-way flop I expect him to have hit *something* on the flop, be it a pair or a draw. I think he would have raised Ax preflop when limped to in the BB. So I think his 5s are behind us. So we are worried about 9s, and his bluffs include spades, which we block with the King. He’s also going to have some 43 and 64 I think which miss and we don’t block. There are way too many draws I think to fold. What about 9s. Can we get 9s to fold with a big bet? We limp-called 2 streets. He doesn’t have 99, 88, or JJ and we don’t either. I think he has more 2 pairs as we don’t have 52, 82, 85o, or 95. So I don’t love the bluff-he has too many nuts B. Call. Woooooo. I f* nailed it! 43 was in his range! I love to hear Faraz’ discussion of the live read though! He was unnaturally trying to appear comfortable! I *suck* at these type of reads!
What you do is, you don't play K5o from the SB in the first place. This is literally the worst play from a pro I've ever seen. JL, are you advocating this play?
It's clearly not a 'terrible play' and Faraz gives valid reasons why he played the hand all the way through. I wouldn't call in any of those spots but I only have a br for 0.02/0.05 😀
Pretty terrible river, turns bluffs into straights. The turn bet looked very bluffy because he's literally saying he has 2 pair + or nothing, but he can easily have sucked out on the river. Still, he can have diamonds, you beat that, he can also have some silly draw like 63o and you beat that too. So I think you have to call. Raising river is very bad here imo. He's either got a really good hand or nothing, so no reason to turn a small pair into a bluff against a polar range.
Calling. Getting great pot odds. Some busted draws are still out there. No need to raise because your not going to get a lot of worse hands to fold and only being called by better hands or worse you could be facing a 3 bet. Call. Close the action.
The comment about blockers not being as relevant in a blind v. blind situation helps a lot, and is something I will give more thought to. Thanks.
Really liked the soft table reading included in this hand (drinking coffee, banter history, table captain meta, etc.), wp!
I freakin fold man, I can’t lie. Thanks for the content, JL.
You bet!
I would probably fold blocking spades and that sizing looks super value heavy
What would YOU do with K♠ 5♣ on the river?

Board: 9♦ 5♠ 2♠ J♦ 8♦

C) Raise to ... ?
I would probably fold, holding the Ks is kinda bad. The small sizing also makes it look like its for value.

10:27 "My "I'm very comfortable" T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.
Should the BB have bet bigger on the river?
i love this Combo

can 4 3 of diamond Big bet the river ??
I would fold too early in comp to know much about this player
If we call turn there will be 33.5bb in the pot and we're thinking about check jamming the river 173bb?
JL is that really a play?
Faraz Jaka would be in trouble against me because I always drink coffee like I'm being waterboarded.
I would reraise big. Opponent's raise is too small (almost the same amount as they raised on the turn with pot size 3k). We have streights, pairs, two pairs,... in our range.
I fold. But I play 0.01/0.02 and you don't win ev calling in this situation against 3 barrels
folding default but if I think he doesn't think I think he's a pro, it can be a call
I THINK IN THIS SPOT MY OPPONENT WILL HAVE SOME 87-86-JT and less nut hands because of the sizing so i would go for a raise to 19k that i think will make him fold

Because turn is semiBluff and river is "value".

B. Call.

I'd probably let the hand go on the river.
I'm a station, sooo
Based on the title of the video... I'm making the hero call! In all honesty i'd probably have ended up folding the turn😕
such a small sizing. Feels as a marginal made hand. I think its a fold (I would fold the turn already)
What you do is, you don't play K5o from the SB in the first place. This is literally the worst play from a pro I've ever seen. JL, are you advocating this play?
45 seconds into the video answers your question.
It's clearly not a 'terrible play' and Faraz gives valid reasons why he played the hand all the way through. I wouldn't call in any of those spots but I only have a br for 0.02/0.05 😀
K-5 is quite good BVB.
Raise to 35k
Pretty terrible river, turns bluffs into straights. The turn bet looked very bluffy because he's literally saying he has 2 pair + or nothing, but he can easily have sucked out on the river. I would have folded the turn if they bet 5 times
Fold or call. Too conservative to raise at this point of the game. Fold and play another hand
This is terrible poker lol basically just punting deep stacks here and it’s not necessary at all just fold pre simple
