I think a lot of people here don't understand the severity of lying in court. What if the judge believed Rachel's lie here that Ross was a drug addict? He has a son and has shared custody of him. The judge could grant full custody to Carol and Susan and then give him a court order to stay away from his son, otherwise he will get arrested for that. Rachel completely fucked up here, had she not lie in the court, they would have easily gotten an annulment.
