yes, Accutane works! My aunt took it in the 70s & I took it in 2003... it's so hard on the meds bc u get DRY as all hell but then beautiful skin emerges. I still do not have a problem with acne. My skin was super oily b4 I took it. My dermatologist said it's a vitamin A derivative thst shrinks the oil glands, allowing far less sebum to the skin. I had to put Rx grease on my legs, in my nose, lips, around my butt hole (yes, I'm serious)... u get so dry that skin starts cracking. Thst eventually fades with time. I took steroids to make the big, red acne go down until the Accutane started working. I started getting cystic acne out of nowhere after I graduated... it was insanity!
Thank you for sharing. My acne got worse in my 30's and I get horrible cysts and huge scars and pock marks all over. I know changing my diet and drinking more water would be a start. But trying to find the RIGHT routine and cleanser for myself is just as overwhelming with no "instant results" so I'd love to hear I'm not alone and there's help available.
@@foxnullz932 you're welcome.. Yeah I tried drinking more water and my diet was already decent when I was 18 so sometimes it doesn't matter what you do or change, it's just either from stress or it can be hereditary so in cases like that, you do need more help and the only time that don't put you on Accutane is if you have cystic acne. They tried a bunch of other things first before putting me on Accutane but I was also younger at that point. I just turned 38 so this is been 20 years ago in my skin is still clear and I don't have a problem with acne at all. I live close to Atlanta so I can give you the name of where I went if you happen to live in Georgia. I would definitely recommend having some type of insurance because Accutane is like $1,500 a month. My dermatologist gave me steroids to help the big, inflamed, cystic acne go down a little bit and not be just so big and red. Steroids make me want to eat more in a little irritable but I think that's the last time I took them but I'll never forget that LOL! I had what they call, gastrointestinal disorder one time and when I went to the doctor, he was this older doctor who tried to use more old school practices but he knew what he was doing. Something wasn't clamping down right in that whole area so he told me to eat bananas, saltine crackers and drank nothing but apple juice for a few days and he prescribed something for nausea and let me tell you, that is the clearest my skin has ever been and it's funny because apple juice has a lot of vitamin A in it and Accutane is a vitamin A derivative so I definitely think it was like a little mini detox plus vitamin A it's just good for you over all but maybe you could try that for two or three days to see if you can get some of it to go down. It was really nothing special or nothing expensive, but my skin was so clear and I looked so good and hydrated. I just noticed a really big difference, I still remember that and that's been about 22 years ago. Either way, I wish you all the luck in the world and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I know how awful it is to deal with acne and to feel like it's your fault but sometimes it's really not, sometimes it's just not your diet or anything that you're doing
how much acne do you have to have to go on it? I have cystic acne but not as bad as the girl in this video but I’m tired of it. I’m afraid they’ll say mine isn’t bad enough
you are beautiful as you are you are the only one if they need you they get as you are as you want coz they don't have any other choice rather than you coz you are the one ✨️
Long-term use can give you serious arthritis because it dries out the synovial fluid in your joints, so you may wish to switch to Retin-a now that the acne has been eliminated by the Accutane so that you can maintain acne free skin. It takes time for your skin to adjust to redness, so you might want to use it just twice a week at the lowest dose in the beginning for maybe a month or maybe even just once a week for the first month and then twice a week for the second month and three times a week for the third month and gradually build up so your skin doesn’t get irritated from it. UA-camr, hot and flashy has a really good advice about Retin-a. She suggests starting at the lowest dose swallowing this application schedule month by month and then, when you get to where you can handle the lowest dose every day, which, of course takes almost a year to get there then at that point you switch to the next highest dose and anytime it gets irritated you take a step back to your previous schedule, so see if you start the second highest dose once a week for the first month and then twice a week for the second month and it gets irritated at this point then go back to just doing it once a week until it calms down. Retin-A is really the best thing for your skin. You just have to be very patient with us and gentle.
Wow. That's amazing. I had pretty bad pre-menstrual acne until I hit 40. The last week I'd get bad zits & spend the next 2 weeks waiting for them to heal. Then I'd get one week of reprieve & start all over again. Retin-A slowed it down a bit & got them to clear earlier, but I never had this dramatic of a change.
@@maltesseres9563 it needs a lot of vigilance but can be done. You reduce your diet to very very simple things that are guaranteed to be clean/sugar-free clean. For me potatoes, cooked vegies, fruit etc worked. Stay on it for a month and see if it works. After that add back into your diet one thing at a time. For me it's crazy what things bring out acne, like expensive cakes and craft ketchup, salad dressing and some takeaway. Crazily, I'm okay with kfc but not with $70 birthday cake or port vine. Find your own system, unfortunately I had to. Very disappointing not to be able to eat luxury ice-cream. Best of luck
How long did is take for all the acne and dryness from the Accutane to go away? I'm looking into starting this. Never had acne issues then I turned 30 and have acne 🤦♀️
This means a lot because I’ve had bad acne and I’m a teen, and where I live like nobody has it. It’s just nice seeing someone so pretty like you have it and make me not feel alone.
If you thought you were beautiful with acne why would you go on accutane if it has a lot of long term health implications. Really doesn't sound like you thought that you were beautiful with and without acne.
Beautiful either way, always have been and will be! Keep on shining like the light you are to yourself and so many others!
Put your glasses on

You were beautiful either way. People can be so unpleasant. I just know acne like that can HURT. So glad you could clear it up because it is not fun

i’m so sorry for y’all who have acne but it’s a thing happening for a lot of people i hope i don’t get it ❤
did you have rough sun damaged skin before accutane and did it go back when you stopped using it??
No exaggeration, the most beautiful lady I've seen, acne or no acne
Be so careful as this drug is known to cause pregnancy complications.
How old were u when u went on accutane
Please do an elimination diet. All you need is to cut out the thing that is causing this, like I have . Acutane is only temporary
Tell me about it please

It was a journey...but you got to your destination ❤️ always beautiful and always were.
Accutane can wreak havoc on your corneas... dry eye... be careful! You're beautiful with or without acne!

Worth it!
You have such a beautiful soul you shine from within ✨️ 💛 💖

The type of "acne" she had was severe and painful..would you want to live with that?
Oooh gross
