I looked at a girls booking site and she was charging $1300 for boho Knotless braids and the deposit was half of that 😭😭 I’m glad i know how to braid my hair . It’s crazy but you did your thing I can’t wait to do mines now

People are crazy af paying that much for braids...I learned how to braid my hair through youtube videos and it was the best thing I have ever did. Just finished my hair last night and it was only $45. And that included hair, hair rack, a few hair products and that was it.
My braider is $285-$325. I can do that because I feel like it aligns with inflation + her skill because some of these girls are actually terrible at doing hair so to have someone that’s neat, clean, & consistent is somewhat rare.

My stylist is between $185 and $200 for any box braids. I don’t mind that price because my hair is thick and natural and it’s long. I tip good too because she’s good at what she does and has good customer service.

The hate in some of these comments because some are choosing not to pay these crazy prices! Some of us can afford it and still refuse to pay it...mostly because of the scammer type deposits and 1 sided rules. You did a good job sis!
Yes, we girls who can do it ourselves are lucky because these braiders are tripping. I would love to have a shop do it for me, but not at what they are charging 🙅🏽♀️ I'm glad watching videos like yours helped me learn❤

I did my crochet braids for the 1st time for my birthday for I was getting the run around from braider and it came out really cute (thanks to UA-cam) so that was $125.00 I kept in my wallet. Ladies we got to STOP giving away our hard-earned money ($200.00 is my limit but only for certain events). Your hair looks pretty and thanks for sharing-blessings!!!!
As a stylist and braids as well…I could never charge a client that much! The most I’ve every charged was 400 and that was ankle length.

$600? $1300? Hell naw!! Folks don't really know how to braid well or fast if they're charging that much. I just got box braids for $200 and that included hair. It took 6 hours one person on my head and my natural hair is almost bra length. That avgs $33/hour. They're clearly not doing enough business each week and trying to get over on folks.
I’m self taught but later on to refine my skills and learn more I went to UA-cam hair school 😂 and I can braid weave sew in crochet in cornrow do individuals etc etc I don’t need those overcharging so called non liscensed braiders giving me attitude or drama they are rude and most don’t even call you back I don’t mind up to $300 depending on length but that’s it.

Omg! I was surprised to know how much girls pay for hair, custom wigs etc but $800+ for braids! When I use to get micro braids about 20+ years ago I enjoyed getting in/out. But hated that those type of shops pulled, twisted etc your hair as it your were never going to wear it again. Anyway, please crochet your own hair. When I can't get my sister, I find a young girl who charges 80%+ less. I come prewashed and pre-parted with my braid, crochet, etc hair ready.

I always braid my own hair too and i was a hairstylist. Right now I’m rocking butt length skinny micros that i did with the outre braid hair. I’m about to turn them into boho braids soon by crocheting small pieces of human hair through it

I started braiding my hair when prices started to increase to over £60. Back then I thought £70 was too much, and people are now charging over £1000?? Dafuqqq??
The only thing I can’t do is my own weave, but seeing as I don’t wear weaves it’s not a problem!! Ladies out there, teach yourselves - start with big fat braids that take less than 5 hours. If you can master those, you can do ANYTHING! ❤❤

I could’ve used a another pair of hands but my husband wasn’t the one to get help from 😂. I guess practicing more on my hair makes perfect. Yeah, I've just finished doing my hair in some two strand, large Marley braids & I luv it!!! The cap for me for spending on braids is $250 & THAT'S even too much 😂😂😂!!! My sides & back is shaved now so it doesn't take too long to do... You're right, these non-license braiders be coming with too many stipulations & rules, for somebody that is gonna braid your hair, in their living room (which I'm not trashing anyone who do hair at home but with those high prices, COME OOONN!!!)... I will just watch YT and see these lovely Nubian sistas , like yourself & be content ❤❤❤!!!

Way back in the day, zillions were the "It" style. I paid about $300 total, HUMAN hair included. With inflation, that might be $500 now. And I would pay that....for ZILLIONS. The prices these stylists are charging for these relatively basic styles is ensuring I will never set foot in a salon again.
