- Researching and selecting a parrot that suits your lifestyle, particularly when living in an apartment, is of utmost importance for the well-being of both you and the bird.
Parrots have diverse personalities, energy levels, and noise levels, which can significantly impact apartment living. Choosing a parrot that matches your daily routine, space constraints, and noise tolerance ensures a harmonious and happy living environment.
Some parrots may thrive in smaller spaces, while others require more room to spread their wings. Understanding their dietary needs, social requirements, and noise levels helps in providing a suitable and fulfilling life for your feathery companion, promoting a successful and lifelong bond.

Looking for a *Parrot*? Message me via my social, I'll put you in contact with a seller if I know of one in the US (only, sorry) OR Visit my FAV rescue: thebirdgardens...
Yes! Caiques are very stubborn. I’ve learned to wear an old towel over my shoulders or wear old clothes. Between poop and holes in my clothes, it’s not a good look. I’ve learned to remove jewelry before playing or handling our birds. But, they are very affectionate with us. As I open their cages they get all over me. They love to surf on us. 2 of them love to roll around on my lap. They are super messy. They love and need toys. Each bird or couple has at least 9 toys. I provide different types of wood toys and foraging toys. So between flung food and bits of wood, I sweep at least 3x a day and vacuum daily. I use a shop vac because of it’s sturdiness. We never had a hard time bonding except for one bird. Also they can be very, loud. If I lived in an apartment I would probably choose a GCC for all of the reasons you listed. 😊
Yeah… looking decent- ha! Not with parrots! My little Parrotlet left several little holes in one of my newer pink Tshirts. Sigh! Now when I go out I like to actually look nice!
I’ve only lived in apartments and had a blue fronted amazon ,hahns macaw, and blue crown Conure at the same time. I was definitely naive but they did fine. They only screamed for a reason and for the most part were quiet. My amazon passed 22 days ago so just left with the hahns and Conure.
I’m so sorry! It’s always hard losing a wonderful bird and it sounds like your flock has a wonderful flock leader- you! Do the Hahn’s and Conure get along?
Thanks for this interesting info as always and it's great to get a picture of your caique in action!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching, Hug!
This was a great video! Thanks for the great info! I would love to have a Senegal Parrot. I so hope to someday :)
You should! A Seni might love your African Grey 😃
I think a cockatiel is perfect for me and my flock. I've only ever had budgies, and I currently have two. I think adding a gcc would be too demanding for me and would endanger my budgies as they like to nip.
Your videos are fantastic!
I totally agree! I'm glad you realize this! It may be that a GCC would be fine, but it's a risk. A Cockatiel? Whistling, loving and affectionate. You can't go wrong! :)
Thanks for the honest insight. It's important to get an experienced opinion when researching birds, especially for those of us that are new to birds in general. This visual was excellent, lol. Thanks again. 🦜👍
Glad it was helpful! I think anyone can have a great experience with a parrot when they are prepared and research and get the right bird. That’s what I hope to help create :)

Great job!! 👍
My right bird website said I should either get a budgie, cockatiel or Indian ring neck. I took the test a few times.
It’s all a matter of the lifestyle you are after 😄
@@ParrotBliss I really loved the Senegal though. He cost too much money. He cost about $2,500. My mother and I couldn't afford him. I bonded with him real quick and he chose me at the bird store. I'm really sad. 😔
@@Featheryfaith7 I’m so sorry- sometimes they can be found at rescues. $2,500 is high- but there are other species that are less expensive too. If you spend time with your parrot, you’ll create a great bond . If hope you find a wonderful birb!
@@ParrotBliss Good news! My mother and grandmother agreed to get him! We are just still hoping that he will be still be there at the bird store. Hes my first bird. But im not sure if I can take care of him since I
I never had a bird before. But im willing to learn. Are senegals beginner parrots? I heard mixed views about them being beginner to intermediate birds. 😄 Sorry I misheard the video now. Some people said that they arent beginner parrots but more like intermediate.
Thank you for your wisdom! We currently have 2 budgies, they are so sweet and we love them....they are some what skittish but my children handle them without me worrying about biting. My daughter (10) is bird crazy and would love a bigger species however I am making her wait until we can get a bigger aviary, so we can get a pair of something. Bird welfare must be the highest consideration i think...
Yes, it Makayla the difference. So wonderful that your kids handle them. So awesome. What kind are you thinking about getting?
@@ParrotBliss my daughter's dream bird is a Galah; mine is a Hahn's but that's too much of a leap. There's a good conure breeder near us. Pionus is high on the list, however they are hard to come by in the UK.
@@ParrotBliss I do love Caiques....but I hear your experience!
When I am home, I always wear old clothes, as a bird owner it boils down to compromises. If I wasn't willing to do it, I shouldn't have a bird. Period.
I agree. I've given up on wearing jewelry like I used to, or on thinking my clothes should not have holes in them... LOL I prefer having my birds with me to wearing jewelry or having clothes with no holes.
Would a Linnie make a good first parrot?
Absolutely!
is a hispaniolan amazon a good beginner parrot?
I think it is easier to learn about parrots with smaller species first.
