#6 - Make certain that you try them on wearing socks that are of the same thickness that you'd typically wear with them.

You’re terrific at this. Your enthusiasm and equal parts knowledge has been incredible for me as I purchased my first incredible boot, a Dayton. Kindest regards, cheers. And thank you!

As a professional shoe fitter I approve this message. I would only add that numbers don't mean a thing fit does. Use it as a starting point but be open to changing it up to get the best fit. You do not have to have sore feet at all

How much space is too much space in the toe box? I can get a thumb and a half in between my toe and the end of the toe box.. The boot fits perfectly everywhere else.

@williamnettleton3413 A western style boot fitter told me that nobody sees your boot size even if they cared. No reason to let your ego get in the way of finding the best fitting footwear of your life just because you’re stuck on being bigger than some arbitrary number.
      Thanks for what you do.

Thank god you said that about the heal slip. I have just a small like spot back there from my new boots I just got today. Glad to know they will adjust themselves!

update us bro, how did you go?
I had a 'small' amount of heel slip with some Silverados (2E width) I bought from the US - after a day of wearing I've accepted that they're definitely too long. very unfortunate.

And the flat sole is very comftable in urban environments. Feels like the skate shoe of boots.

wedge soles work much better with modern casual outfits I think, even streetwear

Depends on the brand but it's usually a half size or a full size smaller than the Brannock size. Most of these shoemaker websites even state as such. Stating it's almost always half a size smaller is false and misleading.

You are overemphasizing something that doesn't need it. Much ado about nothing. Stop it.

@@steveeab2364 Much ado about nothing is exactly what I'd describe your contribution. Fanboys nowadays always get offended when people don't 100% agree or suck-up to their idol. Grow up.

@@steveeab2364 What else can I do other than get down to your level. Your contribution is insipid and demonstrate just how little you know about the subject. Have you ever bought any heritage boots from any of these brands? I highly doubt it.

Meanwhile, buying boots in mainland Europe is traumatizing. No Brannock devices anywhere, no wide fits, often no half sizes, no sizing consistency at all. Maybe the UK is better.

same deal in Australia. it's completely fucked. virtually nobody sells wide sizes in Australian stores, and it's even harder to find wide sizes in actual brick-and-mortar stores.
