I couldnt have gone through calc. classes without Salman, the man is paving the way to a new way of teaching. Professors these days dont give shit about being thorough, Sal pretty much holds your hand through every step and concept. He teaches a handful of other subjects which im sure ill be needing later on. Best of all its on your terms and free! We need more teachers like Salman!
I discovered Khan Academy at the age of 21 and now I'm 23 were I watched a lot of Khan Academy and mastered math except Calculus and Multivariate and Linear Algebra were I still struggling even I watched Khan Videos but still it helps me a lot. Thanks Khan.
Thank Mr Khan. One of the mothers from our homeschooling circle gave us your site and honestly, I myself have been so blessed! My daughter has dyscalculia like symptoms and she LOVES your explanations. She goes over and over again to get the concepts right! God bless!
My teacher at school is good. He teaches us well. But some times it doesn't stick, and when I'm at home solving problems, I can't remember how to do it. That's where Khan Academy helps me. I went from B to A in maths and physics, and got a perfect score on both my previous tests. Top of my class. I'm now tutoring others after school hours. I credit Sal's way of teaching in such an informal way, making everything fit together in a sort of jigsaw puzzle.
I really like Sal. I'm a sophomore in high school, and I tutor every week at my school. He's really good because most of the people i tutor are below average students, so it's good to sort of "refresh" on things like algebra I and geometry. Thanks Sal!
Although small scale, I tell like everyone about his website. its friggin awesome. I am in a masters degree program and I still use his videos as a refresher. you rock sal
Yep. His videos are the best. When ever I search math related material, I always look and go to his videos first if he has what I'm looking for (usually does).
I wouldn't say peace, but a prize equivalent to the Noble Prize.. He really deserves it.. I am so glad that i study computer science at a university in a world where Salman Khan is in.. He deserves even more attention and even a bigger audience than what he has right now..
Dude your awesome I'm happy things are going well for you, well deserved! Just don't start charging the videos you already have posted I still need them lol.
I love the Khan Academy and the work Sal has done, but I feel like if Khan Academy gets too much exposure it may change things drastically. For example if all students in America start using the Khan Academy from elementary school, then calculus would no longer be a high school subject. I have a cousin who started on the Khan Academy in 7th grade, he's now self-studying differential equations and he's only in 9th grade, it's unbelievable since he's just a normal kid!
I dont think you people understand what this guy's doing; he's opening his mind to the world for free. im a chemistry tutor and i charge $15/hr this guy could charge well over $100+/hr but he does it for FREE!!
@Grundalizer That's absolute nonsense. We're progressing toward the future, not toward the stone age; computers are becoming cheaper and more available as time goes on. The children are simply inputting answers to questions that are generated by the Khan Academy software(which runs in-browser and is free to use) so it can keep track of their progress, where they get stuck, give them hints if necessary, or show them a video related to the topic they're covering.
Mr. Khan, here's an idea worth spreading: the moment you start adding subtitles in other languages to your videos, or start making videos in those languages, maybe with the help of the resources that your project is going to obtain from the Gates Foundation, this will skyrocket in the near future. And please... please, don't let Google, Facebook or Yahoo buy your academy: they will just turn it into a merciless for-profit corporation. This is your legacy to the world, don't sell it.
@MontegoFilms lol i don't think u should include Google in that list... it's understandable that everyone is afraid of big (and i mean MASSIVE) corporations but if u actually do some research on Google, u will be surprised.....
@userisdosser Haha that's right. If it wasn't for Nadia's unfortunate position in her math class, she wouldn't have been the driving force behind the beginning of the Khan Academy.
@TheVGMM I did cos i dislike every video before i watch them it's a bad habit i know but i can't help it 1 dislike first 2 watch second i always do that :(
lol they are all learning on computers, so fucked up. Not saying Khan academy is bad...but they are doing math on a computer. what happens when you don't have a computer?

he deserves the attention .. I'm happy for him

Sal. What you are doing has great great social value. If education was a function, you have turned it into an exponential one.
Thanks,
Earth.
Yay! Khanacademy is getting the attention it deserves! Helping so many people around the world!
Keep it up Sal! You're an inspiration to us all :D.
Khan Academy taught me more than any teacher i've had at any of my schools.
Khan Academy helped me tremendously in math. Heres to hoping they blow up and get the recognition they deserve!

I just found this and Thank You for the work you have done here.

May god bless Khan academy. I am so thankful to Sal and all the crew work with him.

3 Degrees from MIT and Harvard. you're an inspiration man
This story is about a man who will be directly responsible for elevating our cultures to a true civilization.
we, all the world love you man!
i'mso happy for this guy
Amazing guy! They should have talked about gamification which is providing a lot of the motivation and reward structure.
I and many others think you're awesome for doing this kind of work :)
Awesome man! Congrats!
hey man many congrats, keep up the good work!
sal is amazing, and an inspiration
@Grundalizer then they will do it in their heads or on paper. They're not using a calculator, just happens to be on a computer.
Thats how he writes so good on the PC!
I was so glad when I saw this!
So, how's about sharing those 3.5 million? =D
Seriously now, I wish you success.
@Grundalizer You do it on a paper? Hello?
@MontegoFilms he has already planned for that. he wants to hire people to translate all the videos into lots of languages around the world.
congrats
@MontegoFilms Check out the "About" section on Khan Academy. Subtitles are underway.

Khan is Khan!
Mr. Khan only has two degrees from MIT.
You deserve it Sal :)
🥰🥰love it
WOW FREE EDUCATION!!?!? IMAGINE THAT? Wonder how much better this world would be right now if it was like that for the past 200 years?
The next generation will not remember Genghis Khan, but they will remember Salman Khan.
I dont think you people understand what this guy's doing; he's opening his mind to the world for free. im a chemistry tutor and i charge $15/hr this guy could charge well over $100+/hr but he does it for FREE!!
you know you're teacher sucks when you learn and understand more from a youtube video...
just one thing: THANK YOU!
omg... what school was that? all the computers are macbooks... the computers at my school are still running windows xp :(

Kristen Welker is smart unlike the other people on the Today Show Crew

3.5 Millions? Holy shit.
This is my old teacher :D
i find algebra easier than dealing with normal numbers now lulz.

Gates is giving the finger @ 1:54
:P
Word is getting out! I can't wait for Sal to start accepting videos from other sources, there'll be a boom in the diversity in the library.
@Zubinen I'm actually hoping that would happen :)
and then everyone goes "oh without advertisements, it won't be able to run." those sheeps.
gj sal ;D. weird how every kid has a mac x)
@userisdosser Haha that's right. If it wasn't for Nadia's unfortunate position in her math class, she wouldn't have been the driving force behind the beginning of the Khan Academy.
i love you salman

Yet another "Idea Worth Spreading" playing a part in changing the world.
