How cool to see all the different ratios and setups for real life applications as well! I liked seeing the tensioning troubleshooting too.
Thank you so much! Belts and pulleys are used in so many real-world applications, so this was fun to put together.
3:24 Maybe because of the way the yellow wheel pulls the rubber band. Because it tried to pull it at a sharper, acute angle (switch on the right), the tension on the rubber band from the guides caused slipping. However, the wider angle (switch on the left) means there’s less tension on the rubber band, meaning less slipping.
From someone who’s not studied pulleys before, this video was helpful, at least in the LEGO building aspect! The 90 degree pulley will definitely help me in future LEGO builds.
I'm so glad it was helpful! I also appreciate your insight on the slipping. I'll rewatch at that part and see what you're saying! When you say "switch on the right" or "switch on the left" are you referring to the direction the motor is spinning?
@@BrickMachines1 No, I was referring to the lever being pushed to the right, or to the left. But I guess I should have just said clockwise and counterclockwise referring to the motor.
Oh okay, I'm tracking with you now! Thanks for the clarification. I'll watch and see if I can figure out what's going on!
so if you used a belt that was circular in cross section rather than square/rectangle in cross section it should fix the problem?
Wow, the indicators really help to visualize what is happening there. Awesome
Thank you! 👍 Without those indicators it's tricky to tell what's happening!
This is awesome! thank you. As a teacher this has given me great ideas on how to approach this topic and subsequent ones.
Nice pulley system
Thank you! Did you have one that was your favorite?
I didn’t
That's okay! Thanks anyway for the comment 👍
You’re welcome, I also do Lego videos if you want to check them out and have a great day:)
Oh sweet, no way! Ah yep, your name says it all. I'll take a look right now! Have a great day!
Cool
Could you share the product numbers for the pulley’s? Thank you!
awesome video. I don't know if you fixed this in your other videos, but the auto adjust of the camera is changing the colours constatly, and it's a bit anoying.
Thanks for noticing that! Yes, I recently learned the proper process and have fixed it!
@@BrickMachines1 Awsome, thanks.
