Great video as are the others in this series. This contained a lot of information that I was not aware of. Much more to the admiral than the circumstances surrounding the famous quote.

A fine & detailed presentation by Ranger Smith with one correction.
Admiral Farragut was not buried in Brooklawn Cemetery, Brooklyn NY.
He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY and the grave was recently designated a national historic site.
I portray Admiral Farragut as a living history presenter to schools, universities, libraries & historical societies & roundtables in the NY,NJ,PA&Delaware region. My web site is brucetuckerpresents.com

Why was that bottle blurred out on the podium? Is it Jim Bean or sore throat medicine?

Just amazing that ignorant people would talk right over the speaker at the beginning.

I'm pretty sure he's wrong about the first candidate to ACTIVELY campaign for President. That was actually Stephen Douglas, in the 1860 election.

"FARRAGUT" OR "FARRAGUT ON THE HELMN". COULD BE THE TITLE.

13:40 A docent at the Eisenhower farm in response to a question did point out that the locals, especially the farmers, were not exactly enamored with Ike becoming a neighbor.

The speaker doesn't enunciate his words very well.

It's called an accent. We should all speak like you, I suppose.

      @@jeg5gom,
Had nothing to do with his accent. I've listened to many park ranger presentations where they have different accents. They were able to clearly enunciate their words quite well.

@@SteveTheFazeman I understood everything he said. Maybe something is wrong with your ears.

He has trouble with his Rs. Farragut sometimes comes off as Faggurot. It would be better if he slowed it down to get all three syllables.

War is horrible. Without it, who knows how much longer slavery would have endured? Or Hitler and Mussolini? I guess you're OK with that...

War is a rich man's game. There was no need for War.
