In 2007 in Norman Oklahoma my mom was struck by a drunk driver, rode the hood of their car over a quarter mile before flying off and being struck again. It made the news and I was in the same grade as Toby’s son going to the same elementary school. He heard about what happened and showed up in person to our broken down home and had his chefs cater food for us to put up and have as we were really struggling. He also gave my dad a check and told him to stay strong. Toby was a good man to us and I will never forget what he did.
Edit: just to add, he also showed up to our school bands fundraiser after the Moore tornado and gave a huge sum of money for us to give to relief efforts.
Also edit: I need to add that while my mother was in an extremely long coma and was paralyzed she was saved by an old school paramedic that hit her twice with an adrenaline shot. My family has been forever changed since this has happened and I still appreciate the condolences. Just had to clear that up as I wasn’t very clear when I posted this.

My dad raised me on Toby Kieth. I’m 38 now, and they’re both gone. This song brings me right back to the ole days of singing with along with my dad to Toby’s songs. This song becomes more true the older I get lol.

I mean tbf, he started learning and playing country music before he went into the industry, and he does play country on occasion today, so it's not really not outside his comfort zone.
I never listened to country until one day in Nevada this same song played on the radio as I drove a hitchhiker all the way to Reno. He was a young very large black fellow and I knew if I didn’t pick him up he wasn’t likely to get where he needed to go that day. He knew every word and we had a good laugh as we sang it together on that stretch between Carson city and Reno . Toby, you helped me make someone’s day and turned me on to country music and a way of life I’m still living 15 years later as a real deal cowboy in CO. Post Malone thanks for this awesome tribute

Same. I grew up around my moms family ( black) in a old black community . And lived in alot of urban settings. But foster care opened me up and as I got older I just grew to appreciate good music. Same with rock.i thunk it was kid rock originally with T.I in a song together. That's what got me.

Got to eat with Toby Keith in a small DFac in Iraq. The man brought out two whole smoked hogs (In a Muslim country) and made a deployment for all there! Rest in Peace to a legend from someone who's not a fan of his music, though I by no means dislike it. Not a rap/R&B fan but respect to Post Malone for being a superb musician and great human being. A lot of us get goosebumps with this heartfelt cover by Post because we remember hearing Toby's songs in bars and it reminds us of our younger years....friends we've lost..loves we've lost...nostalgia that we can't really ever fully relive. The way Post's voice echoes this legendary song by the country legend Toby Keith really brings back the memories of "better" days for me, at least. Post really performed this with love you can tell he really liked Toby. A lot of us took Toby for granted but hearing this song echoing now after he is gone sure does bring back some bittersweet memories and makes my heart go out to him. God bless him he was a great performer and so charismatic.

I used to make fun of Post for the tattoos on his face, but I never listened to his music and never seen him in an interview. Then, I saw him on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and thought, "What a down to Earth dude." He was so chill and easy going, a contrast to my personality, something I should aspire to but can't - I'm not wired that way. So I decided to listen to his music. So much talent and competency. You can't deny it. The tattoos melted away in my mind as did my harsh ignorance. I don't even see them now. So much love for him. If you haven't heard him sing or speak, just watch his NPR Tiny Desk Concert. It's a 15-minute video. I've probably listened to a hundred times. It's a great representation of his talent and humbleness. I love Post Malone. He's an awesome dude.
