You did the great choice cap. I did not go to Defiance because they did not had a dealer here and yes i had terrible quality service it terrible that now with parker before you buy one you need a boat surveyor and measure it to make sure is not Crooked, thanks for a awesome video cap.👍👍⚓
Thanks brother. You made me not get Parker and I’m happy now. Also as for defiance they said if I had a warranty issue I could take to any boat place and get fixed and they would reimburse me. I had a slight hydraulic leak but just fixed it myself. We are handy. Easier to do it ourselves. Thanks for watching. 😀
@@mooseontheloose8956 yes even if you have warranty is better if you can fix it yourself because they normally want you to leave the boat there for days for small leak that you can get it fixed within 15-20 minutes😉👍⚓
I follow you both on your journeys. I am set on a pilot house rig, Need to sell my c.c first tho. Which brand will it get? You can guess. Just fixed a trolling motor issue on my Cape Horn, can't wait to head out there chase some sheep head. A pilot house will be awesome. Keep it up guys, good stuff.
How much do you think yours will weigh with all the stuff you’re adding? (I think you said 3,500 lbs (dry weight) before.). How much is delivery cost? Would you come out better buying at a boat show?
Good question! Well between batteries, air, solar panels, and gear I think I’ll be adding around 500lbs. Then gas and water and ice chest. Why I got lithium from the start. Makes a big difference. As for shipping in my video I talk more about it. I paid around 2400 but should have got someone better. I’ve never been to a boat show but I heard if you buy display unit you will get best deals but may be limited to what options they already have. Your best bet may be to ask a boat manufacturer if they have a show coming up and can they build a boat for you and use it at the boat show. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching bud.
Thanks for sharing the prices Great video I have a Chawk Pilothouse 25Ft with a Suzuki 250 that I love. Didn't know too much about Defiance. Good looking out. Nice shout out to my man (out on the Reef)
I live in Central East Coast Florida and have been searching the same size range and looking at the Defiance Admiral 220 EX as a first choice. I met Out On The Reef down at Bahia Honda recently, and he saw the 1995 23 ft Bayliner 2355 I am in now with an outside helm, (I do have a private head and larger cabin with galley and sleeping option for 4 or 5 with aft under deck bunk), and 4.3 V6 180 HP I/O drive, (right at about 4,000 lbs). The Pilot House is super appealing for piloting in inclement weather, especially with the second outside station option for fishing ease. Also, I want more deadrise as I love offshore. I do like the walk through on my boat leading to the full swim platform as I scuba, which I don't think Defiance offers yet. I will check the San Juan features more. I am looking to keep the weight around 4,000 lbs also.
Nice! That’s cool you got to meet OOTR. Sounds like you got a nice boat. That’s really the benefit of pilothouse. You can get out of bad weather and bugs and I like that I can lock all my stuff inside. I think you would like them. Maybe test drive one if possible. Defiance also just opened a place on east cost so you may be able to visit. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Stay safe cap.
@@mooseontheloose8956 I don't have a good channel yet, but you can check out some of my videos of me working on my boat. I bough the boat and trailer for 1,600.00 and started from there. I've had a few setbacks needless to say. Including the New Simrad GO9 and VHF radio, I've got about 5,000.00 into it. I've had it over 20 miles offshore past the Carlson 2 Humps outside Bahia Honda, 660 ft deep, (Caught two 5 lb Blackfin Tuna and a nice Spanish Mackerel) that trip. She runs great, but I can't pilot inside.
The Cutwater is my lottery dreamboat. Can’t wait to actually see one in person. One issue though is I live in Mercury country but the Yamaha is the sole engine for Cutwater. Also all that goodness looks like it adds a lot of weight so I wonder how the 250 or even the 300 handles it.
@@mooseontheloose8956 There is a 2018 on Yachtworld right now with the hard sides, which would be an apt comparison to the boats you featured here. Great video.
Hi cap, really liked your video. Thanks for the info. I have a passion for the sea. I have saved bunch of money. Now I am in search for the perfect boat. I need something reliable that will last me many years. I don't know much about boats though. Maybe looking to go fishing n also enjoy the cruise. I am not married n no children. It's just me. What do you suggest on a good boat. Just looking for advice cap
Hey Jose! Thanks for watching. Sounds like you are in a good spot for a boat. Im new to boating also but i really like the fishing style boats. Defiance has been great. I would ask local people in your area and just go look at some in person. Unless its cold or want to camp then a center console is all you need. Good luck!
Nice! Congrats cap. They made me put down at least 10% but I think that depends on your credit. If credit isn’t as good you have to do 20%. As for time it’s hard to say for you since I got mine before Covid. I think it took 3 months then but I’m sure is more now since they are busier too.
Hey capt! Pacific waters are tough. These boats are popular down the California coast. Center console market is just so strong. I think you will see the other companies expanding soon. Like I said in video I like the Parker boats. Just wasn’t for me. Thanks for watching!

i hate when sites don't list basic prices and tell you that you need to call them.
Yeah a lot of the websites could use some work. I noticed that also. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing the prices. The San Juan 22 is on my short list. Can't wait to see the A/C install and the lithium batteries powering it.
Thanks for watching cap! Hope you get one.
it really helped me getting know about a tuna tower. i wish could have one!
How many years can they extend the monthly payments and how much down, ballpark?
You can extend to 20 years and down payment is 10-20% of total cost.

Defiance blows away C-Hawk and Parker. Fished on all three. SteigerCraft makes a nice boat, however they pound.

Yeah it’s a heavy boat. Thanks for watching cap
Had many mercury outboards. Will never buy one again. Yamaha seems to be far above mercury as far as reliability goes with my experience.
You could also go with the gold standard of 22 foot pilothouses. The Eastern Sisu 22. No finer boat.
I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Can you tell me how much you had to put down to order your boat and how long did it take to get your boat. I plan on buying an aroma 19 sea ranger

Not as strong as Parker? See less if none on East Coast.
