I spent 23 years as a manager in the retail world, and I learned a few things like what Rick is saying. * Your word MUST be your bond. * You absolutely MUST treat that customer as you would want to be treated. * A happy customer will tell 3-4 people about their experience dealing with you, but an unhappy customer will tell EVERYONE THEY KNOW. * Always let your customers know how much you appreciate their business. * If you make a mistake, be big enough to own up to it and make apologies if necessary. * Don’t try to rip the customers head off to get that one big sale and leave that customer with a bad feeling. Give a little and gain their respect and trust and win a customer for life, and possibly their entire family and their friends as well. Just live and work by the golden rule and you will come out on top on the end.
Everything you talked about is why YOU are the one I bought my Corvette from. YOU and Chuck helped me with questions I had on my father's '16 Z51. I said you would get my business when I was able to buy one. YOU made the deal happen on a Saturday, and I flew up the next Friday to get my first Corvette. YOU are the most honest and honorable sales person to deal with. I Thank You.
Rick, first I'm sorry that Kyler had that disappointment from the guy in Philthydelpia. Second, the unnamed dealer in Florida is doing what every single Chevy dealer here in Sacramento County, CA, is doing. The Chevy dealers here in my area are not only unapologetic for the up-pricing of the new C8's, but they're also smug jerks to boot. This is WHY I'll be going directly through YOU once I'm ready to make that purchase. I can't thank you enough for the thoughtful and professional support you've demonstrated with ALL of your customers in the 2 years that I've subscribed to your vlog. You provide faith to us, who aren't quite ready to make such a purchase, that your process will be handled properly and with dignity. Best wishes to you and Chuck.
great video.....your snip on the fall out over the high wing was great and fully agree. I am glad to see that you can use this channel as a release like therapy. Sorry to hear it fell thru as the car needs the high wing. Also, BIG THANKS to Chuck on the time and energy with Tuesday tech stuff. I for one, here in the to hot to live in state of Arizona - expresses my thanks. Best to you! More to come.......
My local dealer that I bought 4 cars from call me the other day and tried to sell the C8 for 27000 over sticker price I told him I'd pass and I would buy my car from somebody else
@@RustyZipper maybe the 21's or 22's down the road (2-3 years from now), but not the 20's because being the first year of the mid-engine, the strike, COVID, and the very low production (most likely under 20k will be built).
xxuncexx - lol, do you guys think that the 2014 with a 6 speed is more valuable than the following years? Once they work the bugs out no one will want the ‘20.
Thank you so much Rick for having the character to talk about that issue. Your Values and Character are very appreciated. Sadly, It’s getting harder and harder to find a man of character now-a-days, especially in business.
Thanks guys, appreciate the time involved in gathering the information, I think I will take your advice in using the clip on the original cover. You guys are great and thank you for all you do for us.
Old Jerry McGuire handshake is as strong as Oak type of guy. What a POS. No different than those Chevy dealers $25K over MSRP. GM take note and strip these dealers of Allocations and give them to Rick Covrvette Conti at Coughlin. A stand up guy! That is why I am buying my next Corvette from him and only him. 2025 ish ZORA........... Thanks Rick Conti.
Your word is your bond and making a deal with a handshake is a wonderful thing, I am sorry some people let us down but I am proud to say even though I had a 13 month wait my Local dealer, Classic Chevy, Lawton Oklahoma stood by the deal we wrote last July and a deal is a deal. Sorry Rick if I don’t come and see you for a 2022 Grand Sport C8 but I have a Great Dealerships allot closer to home! Thanks for keeping the Dream Alive!
@@itaylorm I saw a Blade Silver at another dealership last December, but it was indoors. I stopped by Coughlin today to see a blade silver out doors in the sun light. You will not be disappointed, she is gorgeous. Congrats to your dad on a great selection of options. Enjoy!

The question about the trans' shifting hard at first, then gets better after a little while, is caused by the trans not being warmed up. You should start the vehicle and allow it to warm up a little before taking off. I know most people just jump in and go, but the best thing for your vehicle is to allow it to get up around operating temperature before driving it. I'm not sure what the manufacturer states the operation temps for the C8 is, but I know it has to be over 150 degrees, prob' more like 180 degrees. So if your car isn't up to the proper temps' it isn't going to operate properly until it is.
Hey Mr. Rick, I'm a first time Vette owner and I wanted to say that you have personally won my business for Chevy because of your integrity. I've looked at a lot of your VLOGS and felt like you were honest and kept it pretty real on your show. Of course you could be just that good at your trade too but that's not what it show on your vidoes. Which ever the case I wanted to thank you for your info and look forward to seeing more.
Hey Rick, Thanks for another informative VLOG. Greed is a strange animal. It can ruin a persons or businesses reputation. Hard to ever get that trust restored. Stay safe and thanks again for you guys taking your time to keep us informed. I really look forward to your daily uploads. Jerry
I respectfully do not agree there are plenty of people out there with integrity I deal with everyday. It's not hard to spot someone full of it. We need to teach our kids the car hobby and respect they are connected
Great show Rick...hey I've owned 30 plus corvettes, most recently 3 C7's and my C8 is built. Responding to your referral and future business comment. I own a construction company and do all my business with my local Bend Or Chevrolet store and sales guy. My family and I have bought dozens of trucks, cars and do service with these great folks. As a side note, I was in the car business for 15 years and ran a store before doing my own thing. Anyway, loyalalty between both customer and dealer is getting rare and that's too bad. My car will be here in a couple weeks and at below MSRP, and number one on the Z06 list. Good to be loyal👍

What you need to do is call him at least 3x a day for updates. Then call your concierge to fact check Rick. Then call the NCM for their input. Then call Mary Barra. That way it arrives faster according to everyone that ordered a C8 during a global pandemic expecting it to arrive within 30 days
Rusty Zipper is that what I did wrong? I did text Rick more than I needed to. If he couldn’t get right back to me, I understood that he’s a one man show and very busy.
Steve Roberson - congratulations on Argentee ! (When it arrives of course) most folks assume that they are his one and only customer not realizing that he probably has 100 active deals on the docket.
When I changed out my engine cover I could not get that grommet to come out, so I had my local Chevy dealer order a new one. It took him about 5 phone calls to get the part number. The grommet only was about $7 and included shipping. It took 5 days to arrive.
Steven Mistretta I looked at my paper work file but did not find it. It was so inexpensive I probably thru it away. You can call my dealership. At Bunnin Santa Paula Chevrolet at 805-525-2127, ask for parts department. I think the guy that chased it down for me was Brian. He Will be able to look it up under my name and it was ordered on 5-6-202. Good luck Steven.
Rick your are 1000% right about shady dealers treating buyers like crap. I've bought many cars but only one corvette c7. My dealer to this day still owes me reimbursement for my first tank of gas. I've contacted them twice and now gave up. Who do you really think has lost out now. Never would do business with them on any car ever. I've told hundreds of people and what do they say, what dealer is that again lol.
I'm picking up my c8 from the museum in a couple of weeks, No high wing available even though I ordered it in November. I hope GM offers a discount for the wings when they do become available.

Love your honesty reasons I’m waiting for the c8 is Because 3 dealerships changed up and decided to charge me over msrp and I just said pass. 2023 z06 is what I’m going for 😆🤩
Rick your rant is warranted. I share you pain. I just had a bad experience buying an EcoSport for my daughter. I wish you sold Fords. You the man! honesty is becoming rare.
Rick, I've got to bring my 2000 C5 down for service. I'm sure it's something to do with the BCM. I live in Canton, my daughter is in Delaware. So my best time is to bring it down on a weekend and leave it at the dealership. Is this possible?
I totally "feel you" Conti, "a man's word is supposed to as good as gold!" I told my wife that whenever we get the money 💵 saved up, I'd like to buy my first ever Corvette from you! ❤️ When can I buy some hats or something..... ☺
Hey Rick will you ever offer a dealer special where you’ll offer better looking rims for your C8 buyers that is warranted. The factory rims are meh. Keep it up man god bless
I was planning to buy a new C7 then the C8 was announced so I waited and was extremely disappointed that it is auto trans only. Decided to buy a new Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0. No regrets. I just wonder how many customers have turned away because of no manual?
Who owns that awesome yellow zo6 with 1600 miles on it. This can't be true. If you ever want to sell let me know. I've been looking for a 2002 yellow zo6 low miles
Rick. There is TSB for the A8 hard shift, shudder etc. Had it done on my 17 and shifts are now way better. Flush and the new mobil 1 synthetic fluid used per the latest August 2019 update. Rick I was supposed to get the carbon flash metallic spoiler with my car. It came in broke. I got my money back a d bought a carbon fiber high wing spoiler fron C7 Carbon. The legs are the only parts that are carbon flash Metallic. It looks absolutely phenomenal on my Ceramic Matrix Gray C8
Feel bad for your customer. I have a ?, Rick. I have seen c8 with suede upper center console where the mode selector is located. How is that ordered? Do you need a 3lt model? Must you order your seat insets in suede or the steering wheel in suede or both? Love to know as the order guide does not say that I can see. Thx
It's those things that have made me walk out of dealerships and never go back! As long as Rick is doing business, THAT is where I will go to by my Vettes!!
Aghh I remember seeing this a few months ago and it really made me sick. I felt for you Rick. At the end of the day you only have your integrity and that individual has none. Horrible
I am considering a 1977 L-82 Corvette, it has a low price. So far the dealer ha not e-mailed me back with any more infomation. Is there anything that I should look for or be careful about on the 77 Vette?
Most of my career was in "commission Sales" or Retail sales that depended on Repeat business. I would ALWAYS rather give the customer a "Good Deal" along with Friendly Service than to focus on getting a big commission on one single 'deal'... Especially when I was selling cars & trucks. MANY times, I would sell a nice car at a "fair price" without the high-pressure and 'maneuvers & tactics' of a more typical car deal ... and then would come the REFERRALS ..! All the friends they showed their new car to, and then told about the good deal, and the nice sales guy... I still remember a salesman I bought my first "Dealership Purchase" from, back in 1974... Art Shackman. Art had no idea how many friends my Dad and I had that sort of looked to us for 'recommendations' about their plans to make a purchase... ( I have ALWAYS been a 'Car Guy' from the time when I could identify one model from another [about age 5!]) In the next 5 years, my own Family bought SIX cars from Art... and sent him more than 30 "Ready to buy" referrals! Years later, when I was selling new cars... I had a customer that was "An Adult Entertainer". She mentioned it as we were looking at cars on the lot -- because she felt 'comfortable' with me, and she was concerned about getting finance approval. "Long Story short"... We found what she wanted, and I had "a little talk" with the Finance Manager before I took her to his office, and I did a lot of 'extra work' to get it all done... And because I treated her so well, with courtesy and respect, she sent me TWELVE referrals in the next 45 days! And then THOSE Ladies sent me referrals... I must have sold 25% of the "Adult Entertainers" in Dallas a new or used car over the next 12 months. You may have heard of a Chevy Dealership in the Atlanta area, named "Maxey Price" ... he crew from a little corner lot used car salesman to a LARGE Chevy Dealership with a Large "Corvette Department"... Maxey Price was his real name -- and some people thought that meant he tried to get the Maximum Price for his cars... But he and my Dad grew up together ... And Art moved to Florida ... so Maxey became "Our Referral guy". My Brother and I BOTH bought new Corvettes from Maxey -- and he personally served as our 'Sales Person' ... no 'hand-offs' any time we came in for a purchase. BUT... when Maxey passed away, and the Family hired a Dealership Manager (Or sold the dealership and allowed them to use the name?) ... it turned into a disaster... and the Corvette Department was filled with a bunch of Rude JERKS.
TECH QUESTION My 2009 C6 Z51 automatic transmission: the PRNDL shifter is getting stuck in Park. Can’t push shifter button in or move the shifter. I think it is the Parking Pawl causing the problem. Mileage is at 7,077 Yes, very low miles on car Car has been to the dealership twice. Visit 1 - supposedly fixed Visit 2 (a month later) Mechanic said he could not replicate the problem Any idea as to a fix? BUT: Thanks to UA-cam!! I found a “HACK”: Driver puts the car into the “Accessory Mode” by pressing the Start/Ignition Button. After doing so, the Pawl releases and I can start the car and move the Shifter Anyone having this problem and/or suggested fixes? Selling/trading the car is not an option. Thanks
One of the biggest problems GM has now it getting the LPO's items for the C8 Corvette orders to the dealerships on time......in stead of 2 or 3 or 4 weeks later....Good new the Update for the front trunk recall is coming out tonight.....
True true true. I’ll never buy nor recommend the dealership I bought my 2017 Z51. NEVERi was so upset I made sure all their info was removed from my car. When asked about where I got it, I said NO. I wouldn’t send you there if I hated you. No no
Rick, I’m in Hawaii and am having a difficult time getting any dealer here to get an order in for me. I feel they are taking highest bidder orders, because back in December I was number two on the list and now number 8. I’m willing to take delivery in Ohio if you can get me one. Thank you very much, Jerry Denis, Honolulu
I've seen it in many of your vlog's, so I have to ask if the owl overwatching your inventory has a name. In all your vlog's I've watched I have never heard you say anything about the dealerships owl WHO sits proudly on top of the building.
You're correct Rick. A man's word is everything! And I know it sucks to get caught in the middle of something like that but you had no control over it, so don't let it make you feel bad. I know that's easier said than done sometimes. I have a feeling that karma is always out and about looking for the men that don't stand behind their word. Just saying. :)) Have a great weekend my friend! Peace.
Some dealerships definitely work hard to earn their bad reputation. I have never heard even a peep of bad about Rick's actions. I have never bought there, but I will definitely contact him in the future when the time is right. Reputations are earned, not bought.

Love your honesty reasons I’m waiting for the c8 is Because 3 dealerships changed up and decided to charge me over msrp and I just said pass. 2023 z06 is what I’m going for 😆🤩
How do you change the door Chang sounds on the C6 Corvette and sorry for the spelling months stakes I can't read I can't spell I'm I'm a kid
I got a question on AC6 Corvette does different Do door chain sounds 2 to be exact
Rick your rant is warranted. I share you pain. I just had a bad experience buying an EcoSport for my daughter. I wish you sold Fords. You the man! honesty is becoming rare.
This came up randomly in my recommended. Great video!
Hay I know that guy... Thanks buddy... There was no name on the last car you showed us!🤔
🖐🖐🖐👋👍
Thanks Pete, yeah not all had names, that one you are referring to was PRETTY BOY , I guess, sounds good anyway!
Only one word. Greed. Sad it comes to this with some dealers. Thanks for your vid Rick.
Rick, I've got to bring my 2000 C5 down for service. I'm sure it's something to do with the BCM.
I live in Canton, my daughter is in Delaware. So my best time is to bring it down on a weekend and leave it at the dealership. Is this possible?
Call the service writer immediately. All of the good mechanics around me are 2-3 weeks booked out
I totally "feel you" Conti, "a man's word is supposed to as good as gold!" I told my wife that whenever we get the money 💵 saved up, I'd like to buy my first ever Corvette from you! ❤️
When can I buy some hats or something..... ☺
Hey Rick will you ever offer a dealer special where you’ll offer better looking rims for your C8 buyers that is warranted. The factory rims are meh. Keep it up man god bless
Ric always keep your word ‼️🔱🏴☠️Semper Fortis 🏴☠️🔱Fly Navy 🔱🏴☠️
I was planning to buy a new C7 then the C8 was announced so I waited and was extremely disappointed that it is auto trans only.
Decided to buy a new Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0. No regrets. I just wonder how many customers have turned away because of no manual?
Your honesty and passion I will be giving you my C8 order when I am ready.
Who owns that awesome yellow zo6 with 1600 miles on it. This can't be true. If you ever want to sell let me know.
I've been looking for a 2002 yellow zo6 low miles
Peter, he lives in Florida.
Rick. There is TSB for the A8 hard shift, shudder etc. Had it done on my 17 and shifts are now way better. Flush and the new mobil 1 synthetic fluid used per the latest August 2019 update. Check out the article from GM Authority. The change was recommended on all A8 equipped cars even if they were sitting on the lot new. Up to 2019 MY.

Love tech Tuesday and learn a lot of stuff I didn’t know about my 2019 2LT Grand Sport! Corvette Strong 💪
I’m still into the 500 mile break in process. I’m trying to do my best to vary my driving style. “I assume” I’m doing the right thing for the process, correct?
Should I be using the Paddle Shifters more?
Thanks
Rick. Is there any slots open to order a new Corvette? 2021? And how much are deposits required to order one?
Rick I was supposed to get the carbon flash metallic spoiler with my car. It came in broke. I got my money back a d bought a carbon fiber high wing spoiler fron C7 Carbon. The legs are the only parts that are carbon flash Metallic. It looks absolutely phenomenal on my Ceramic Matrix Gray C8
I called and left him 3 messages and emails. Still no return call or email back. Goin on 2 weeks
The world was built on a handshake with honor and respect. Anything less speaks to your character. Newbie John
Horrible
Hey Rick, was that a sneak peak of your spec in the last picture?🤭
Its this Rick conti? I didn't recognize you! Been watching you for a while now, I was who was that in Rick's video
I am considering a 1977 L-82 Corvette, it has a low price. So far the dealer ha not e-mailed me back with any more infomation. Is there anything that I should look for or be careful about on the 77 Vette?
Great choice Rick. They were all BEAUTIFUL.
HOPE THE 25K ABOVE STICKER IN FL WASNT A MAJOR DEALER IN MIAMI ?
I GAVE A 500 DEPOSIT FOR 2021. 3K MORE IS DUE IN MARCH . ANY ADVICE?
Anybody know how I can figure out how many blade silver 2020 c8s will be made?
TECH QUESTION
My 2009 C6 Z51 automatic transmission: the PRNDL shifter is getting stuck in Park.
Can’t push shifter button in or move the shifter. I think it is the Parking Pawl causing the problem.
Mileage is at 7,077
Yes, very low miles on car
Car has been to the dealership twice. Visit 1 - supposedly fixed
Visit 2 (a month later) Mechanic said he could not replicate the problem
Any idea as to a fix?
BUT: Thanks to UA-cam!!
I found a “HACK”:
Driver puts the car into the “Accessory Mode” by pressing the Start/Ignition Button.
After doing so, the Pawl releases and I can start the car and move the Shifter
Anyone having this problem and/or suggested fixes?
Selling/trading the car is not an option.
Thanks
One of the biggest problems GM has now it getting the LPO's items for the C8 Corvette orders to the dealerships on time......in stead of 2 or 3 or 4 weeks later....Good new the Update for the front trunk recall is coming out tonight.....
True true true. I’ll never buy nor recommend the dealership I bought my 2017 Z51. NEVERi was so upset I made sure all their info was removed from my car. When asked about where I got it, I said NO. I wouldn’t send you there if I hated you. No no
So where did you buy your car from
The big recall is the fronk flying open above about 55 mph.
Hey Rick always enjoy, that’s just wrong... I always say Karma has a scoreboard ! Thanks for all you do !!!
Who?
You're correct Rick. A man's word is everything! And I know it sucks to get caught in the middle of something like that but you had no control over it, so don't let it make you feel bad. I know that's easier said than done sometimes.
I have a feeling that karma is always out and about looking for the men that don't stand behind their word. Just saying. :)) Have a great weekend my friend! Peace.
Thats right Rick, there's value in a handshake
Great to see “Rick’s Classics.”
Awesome Content: Thanks sir.
Ground effects for the C8 can be purchased from shopchevyparts.com these are GM factory parts. They are only 3600 only a few left. 5VM option
Great updates today!
All we have is our Word!!! It is golden!!! Semper Fi! Too Funny Rick; "Say Hello Chuck"..... Now Shut UP!
Very true, a man is only as good as his word
so happy my Dealer did not try that 20k over the sticker price! I got mine at sticker
Some dealerships definitely work hard to earn their bad reputation. I have never heard even a peep of bad about Rick's actions. I have never bought there, but I will definitely contact him in the future when the time is right. Reputations are earned, not bought.
Thank you very much I will keep my 2019.
Thanks again
You're late today buddy I've been waiting all day and hoping for news about the recall
Thanks, sorry, stressful behind the scenes crap holding us up!
Growing up your word is your bond
