I have been the proud owner of a bottle of Jermyn Street for a few months and I absolutely adored it. It is the ultimate summer fragrance in my opinion. I was using so much, I purchased a 2nd 100ml bottle. Yesterday, I took delivery of a bottle of 89. Again a lovely, quite enchanting perfume. This one is definitely suitable for all-year-round wear. A while back, I blind-bought a 100ml bottle of Neroli Voyager. A mistake. I found that soapy dry-down quite distasteful. I gave the whole lot to my son. I have yet the Honey Oud. I will get round to that eventually.
You should definitely add Mulberry Fig to that list. It's a great pivot from the traditional male targeted fragrances and really has a great punch for the senses. For me, it also gets better the longer I wear it. My go-to is Honey Oud, but Mulberry Fig is an equal contender. I always wished they made honey oud into a home fragrance as well. It completely has that cozy vibe when you're drinking tea by the fire in your home.
Just received the new Santal Intense yesterday. You should do a review of that masterfully crafted perfume. Is now rated 4.79 in fragantica. Every one who smell it yesterday from my family and friends loved it a lot
I’ve been to their store. When you enter the store I do feel as if I am going back into the black and white era. I presume it’s kept like that due to historical reasons (& a bit of marketing). My favourite perfume is Santal! I tried honey oud ….. not up my street
Hi Sebastian.. You should try diwan from arabian oud.. I'm 100% you will like it.. It Bergamot Apple blind with Gray Amber and Patchouli... It fantastic.. High ingredients.
Great list sebastian. I've never tried anything from this house but really into classic fragrances lately. Like Guerlain vetiver and kouros and polo green
My top three Floris' that I would recommend: 1. Elite 2. Honey Oud 3. Santal Elite is the best by far imo. I wasn't very impressed with Jermyn Street, and No. 89 is a very old school classic (mid-century) English Gentleman Cologne. I respect it for its historical acumen and have it in my collection, but it's not very wearable for me. I would like to get my nose on Mulberry Fig but at $310 it's a hard trigger to pull.
Floris is a really interesting house with a great shop showcasing their heritage. Honey Oud is a great choice and on my list for a pick up later this year. I have No89 which is such a classic scent. It always makes ne think it is the sort of scent that James Bond would have worn when I wear it
Big fan of Neroli Voyage for the summer. Honey Oud my only other bottle, but No.89 a great scent too. 🌿 Currently scoping out 1976. Kinda wish their fragrances were stronger though. Extraits maybe. Or beastmode projectors.
Great timing and I have enjoyed your reviews on the house for Floris. Love Honey Oud and Leather Oud. I am considering getting Floris Bergamotto Di Positano ... going to test it first!
I appreciate this list. I haven't tried anything yet from Floris, but I've heard of them for a long time now and I've been wanting to sample all of their releases. Lately, I've been enjoying "Pasha de Cartier Parfum". Recently, I tried for the first time Azzaro "Pour Homme Intense" and I can like it, but not as much as I like the Cartier.
Awesome video Sebastian, I want to explore this house and this is a great intro video for the brand. Much love. Hope you are having fun on your trip to Italy.
Yes big fan of these English colognes. Have only sampled Jermyn street. 89 has been on the list with all of the James Bond pedigree 😎. Will try honey oud too. Speaking of it I’m hoping you can do a list on alternatives for portrait of the lady, both clones and close enough alternatives. Thanks! Shri
I just visited London and their store this week and you posted this. What a coincidence. Such an underrated brand. English elegance. No89 is a classic.
Love Floris, always great quality and not that expensive (at least for someone who lives in Europe like me, idk about America). Unfortunately i feel like im too young to wear most of their fragrances as they are mainly classy, almost old school scent.
I think you might be surprised by their new offerings but to each his or her own. There is something wonderful about wearing a classic scent with a suit or in uber casual wear.
As you mentioned Eau Santal, how do you evaluate his longevity? On my skin, it lasts for only 4 hours. It seems that some batches last longer, for about 8 hours, and some of them just about 4 hours. It's such a shame because it smells great.
I love Floris. Perfect classy gentlemanly scents. I own Cefiro, Elite, #89,Turnbull & Asser, Mulberry Fig , JF, Special 127 and may pick up Jermyn Street next
Hi, I own 89 and Honey Oud is on the way. I recently am drawn to English brands. I now own several from Geo F Trumper. Eucris is an amazing classic. Do you as well ?
The projection and longevity are not the best. I tried all the samples, but couldn't choose anyone... the main thing in them is citrus, citrus and citrus
Great! You got a discount code! Maybe you have one for Roja? Lol I’m kidding. Honey oud speaks to me. I have Cartier L’enovol and it’s warm and smells like honey
Just getting seriously into a sample I've had for a while but didn't pay much attention to until now: Percival. Watched your review of it going back a few years. Yes, it's really something. And, weirdly, I'm getting certain vibes from it--"under the surface vibes," not "in your face" vibes--that bring Zoologist Seahorse vividly to my mind, even though the two of them list zero components in common. What's curious about that, however, is that you noted Percival was hyped as "aquatic" though you didn't catch any of that in it...yet it is perhaps this enigmatic aquatic something in Percival that's bringing Seahorse to my olfactory sense memory. Both are characterized on Fragrantica, in differing orders, as amber, aromatic, floral and fresh, among their many other differing notes. Also, Seahorse is "soft spicy" while Percival is "fresh spicy." I'm just wondering to what extent combos of completely different ingredients (like cinnamon, coriander and amberwood in one, and fennel, cardamom and ambrette in the other) can wind up generating significantly similar, though certainly not the same, olfactory "environments" for the wearer?
Hi Sebastian, you convinced me to test Creed Royal Mayfair and liked it, I have two options either to get the old style bottles or the new one. which one is better in your opinion ?
Was wondering if you have tried their new fragrance Wilde. Has not been released yet but thought maybe you had an inside track to preview it before its release on Feb 08th. Named in the spirit of Oscar Wilde.
*Honey Oud needs to be hyped up more in the community. Honestly one of my most complimented, most wearable, beautiful sillage and so beautifully blended. Perfect season to wear this and wearing it to my work Christmas party now!*
@@dan-ob7zh Leather Oud is kind of how it sounds. Pleasantly dirty, very Leather Jacket and Hells Angel ultra masculine. I like it. I've now bought 10ml of Honey Oud too since I wrote my previous comment. I'd say it's a lot more unisex than Leather Oud and reasonably long lasting and projecting. Not massive, but better than most Floris. Of the two Leather Oud is probably my favourite but they are both good and I expect Honey Oud may be more universally appealing. Ideally I'd advise sampling or buying a small bottle first (Floris do 10ml bottles in the UK) rather than blind buying
@@jonstern7511 thank you. So honey oud is only sweeter than Leather Oud? Which are the main differences? Because I've tried Leather Oud and i felt it was too much 'heavy' and strong for me, i didn't like it that much.
@@dan-ob7zh Yes, I Honey Oud is definitely sweeter and that balances the Oud. If you like Oud but find the Leather Oud too much (which I understand) I reckon you may well like Honey Oud. Try reading people's opinions of it on a site like Fragrantica
I had both Honey oud and Leather oud. I found honey way too irritating as it's so sweet and relentless. You become very overpowered by it. Performance wise it's serious. Get it on your clothes, you smell it a week later. Leather oud is much more masculine and savoury. For my taste, much more wearable.
Is the honey aspect in "Honey Oud" similar to the honey note which is in "L'Envol de Cartier EDP" or is it similar to the honey note which is "Euphoria Amber Gold for Men", or neither?
Yes a lot of Fougere's would. I'd have to dig deeper though to find one that smells of the actual shaving cream. I know Rive Gauche Pour Homme now discontinued smelled a lot like shaving cream to me and perhaps At The Barber's from Margiela

I've recently read about this house of Floris in a novel. Could you advise on which scents were popular in the nineteen twenties?
Best Floris I’ve tried is Neroli Voyage, do check out that one

Hi Sebastian, Floris has released a new fragrance called No. 007, to commemorate its ties with James Bond. Hope you can do a review soon. Thanks!

Wasn't Floris 89 ian Fleming's/James Bond's fragrance? Not the actor of course but the writer and character.
