My Handpan is rusted almost as much as this one. My Handpan type looks very similar to yours (slightly blue) I would rather not take it apart and cause as little difference to the note tune in the process because I don't know how to tune. I thought of using a rust removing liquid which works well and a light scrub sponge. Then I was considering applying metal protecting vernis, transparent to protect it from rusting again. What do you think of this method? Also does the anneal re-create the blue color of the handpan?
Yes, the annealing recreates the blue color. And it takes the tension out of the metal after tuning, from what I understand. I‘m a dental technician for over 35 years. I‘ve worked a lot with metal alloys over all these years.
Absolutely wonderful video to watch. So cool that you were able to bring that pan back to life and record such a warm song to accompany it. 💚✌🏼
Great to see the whole process
Great video by the way, thanks!
Sehr cool
