It's unbelievable how resilient these babies are! They're dragged over and through rocks, bitten, stretched, smashed, tormented, body slammed, held under water, beaten, pummeled, crushed, clobbered for 20 minutes , then run off like nothing happened!! I've seen hammers have easier days....
They make great punching bags for that reason alone and because of their resilience you don’t have to keep getting a new one.

I find it strange how people humanize this as a mother mistreating it's child. These are not human beings these monkeys are wild creatures of instinct; wild animals don't follow the same societal norms as we do stop humanizing them.

Period however monkeys are quite emotional in their own rights in many cases much more emotional than most humans they have a hierarchy most humans can't relate to more over to the point monkeys and other primates are the closest thing to humans that we know of as far as intelligence emotions general physicality of appearance etc to be exact there's less than 3% genetic differences between us and them so and saying all that I really don't know what the hell you're babbling about. I agree with you. I would like to add. The mother is in distress here as the camera man keeps approaching. Most animals will kill their young if they feel it is being threatened, in this case the camera man poses a threat. Leave animals to live and accept they are NOT human and as such doesn't have to abide by judgements and opinions

This all started cause when daniella was first learning to purge n eat herself, one day she was eating a nut or something, and Dee Dee caa as me up, took it out of her hand and ate it, rightfully so being an adult, and way higher ranking, I’m pretty sure Dee Dee is kid of a leader in community, but problem is, Daniela didn’t understand politics yet, and actually got angry Dee Dee took her food, and she ran after Dee Dee, and screamed in her face angrily, like “yo why’d you take my shit” type of yell, there’s actually video of it if you search, she basically called out Dee see in front of entire troop, danielas mom should have been watching, and checked her kid at time, but she wasn’t, and from that point on, Dee Dee never let it go, and tortured her, but make no mistake, this wasn’t random, or Dee Dee just being crazy, this was 💯 personal and Dee Dee was punishing and trying to slowly kill Daniela, for embarrassing and challenging her in front of everyone, in the monkey world, it’s politics, and that’s why her mom won’t step in, she would be killed too, she may loose one, but they have a kid a year basically lol

I would never hurt an animal. I never liked monkeys, or cats really. But I've rescued kittens, nursed them back to health and all that good stuff. I've always been scared/grossed out over monkeys and this is a perfect reason why. Those poor little babies. I'd definitely have to punch the mom multiple times and take her baby. She don't want him/her anyways. 😔😔😔🥺🥺

I agree. Also, I get tired of them blaming the VO’s for everything. They want to believe that macaques are cute little furry animals, but that’s far from the truth. They’re aggressive and violent. I tell these people to watch nature documentaries featuring macaques and they’ll see the same behavior. Kidnapping, fights, infanticide etc. but they don’t listen. At least try to learn about the animals you’re commenting on before making yourself look stupid.

Dee Dee comes from a higher ranking family,and can do anything she wants!Daniela, is from a lower family member,and her Mother does not dare go after DeeDee, no matter know she is dead,poor thing was just a plaything to that crazy DeeDee!

5:35 Dana knew she couldn’t even save Daniella from Deedee, that’s why she backed away in fear because she knows what Deedee can do to her too since Dana is low ranking. Daniella is getting punished for taking food before the ranking adults by accepting food from the vo’s in front of them. Dana tried to take the food from Daniella but Daniella was stubborn and kept going back for more from the vo’s and was caught being seen and watched by the ranking adult females and males, when Dana realized this she had no choice but to back off and submit to the hierarchy which mean’s abandoning Daniella to allow the higher ranks to deal with Daniella now and that’s why Deedee is punishing Daniella.
- Dana is making things more difficult too by following nearby everywhere Deedee drags Daniella. And of course what is the kid gonna do? It’s gonna try to run to its mother for comfort and protection but obviously Dana can’t do that, Dana can’t even touch Daniella. Daniella is probably exhausted and starving to be nurses and dana can’t touch Daniella or she’ll be punished too for interfering with Deedee. Deedee also is flexing by dragging Daniella purposely around her and dana has to watch and witness Daniella being dragged like a ragdoll and hit all the rocks and trees over and over when being dragged. But like I said, Dana’s presence isn’t helping Daniella since Daniella keeps trying to run to dana when Deedee isn’t paying attention but it doesn’t matter because if Deedee sees them together then she’ll just kidnap Daniella again and like shown dana will submit and allow Deedee to take Daniella without a fight. Anyone who watches this probably already know what the outcome will be and that’s Daniella not surviving. She may survive this day but her days are numbered since Daniella is targeted now by all the ranking monkeys and that’s female and males, they are allowed to do whatever they want to Daniella now. It’s the males that’s whom Daniella has to fear to be punished from because the males don’t like screaming and that’s all Daniella does. One male is all it takes to end Daniella and dana knows it too.
- Dana is only staying close enough in hopes to be allowed to take Daniella back but as shown at the end, Daniella was allowed to nurse but Dana was on alert because she knew once Deedee comes back that she’ll have to walk away and keep a distance from Daniella again and that’s what happened. Dana has no choice every time to submit and she can’t grab Daniella and run because there’s no where to hide for either of them and monkeys survive in groups. Dana won’t survive without her troops protection so losing Daniella is her price to pay to keep the troops protections from other territories. Dana should of been more forceful with her teachings when Daniella was born. Hope she learned from this experience so that she won’t have to endure it again with her future offspring’s. I personally wouldn’t want to have more kids if I had to witness all that abuse my kid endured and at the end was killed infront of me because I couldn’t protect it. But the females don’t have a choice when it comes to mating because if s male spots them and they are in heat than the females have no choice or they’ll be raped repeatedly because the males love it more when they refuse and reject them, sick? Yes I agree these males can be sick and twisted but that’s how they are. They love it when females refuse because they’ll keep chasing them till they submit so they can prove their dominance over them. Once the female gives up fighting and allows the males to do whatever already than that’s when the males lose interest and allow the females to be set free. Sucks for female monkeys that’s for sure.

That’s not the mother that’s the bad alpha who is tormenting the baby. The mother is elsewhere. You can see the baby looking around for her. You can also see the DeeDee looking around before hurting the baby

i dont exactly agree with what dee dee is doing, but you simply cant step in to a wild tribe of monkeys, try to take a baby and expect none of the monkeys to care. if anyone tried to rescue the baby, they would get immensely hurt by the other monkeys. sadly, these are wild monkeys and this happens with wild monkeys. theres nothing you can do unless intervene with nature but that's a bad idea. hopefully, the baby is resting peacefully now

Baby girl Daniela was less than 1 week old, when Dolly and DeeDee (Dolly's daughter) started forceful ripping Daniela away from mom Dana.
Mom Dana is lower in hierarchy where as Dolly and DeeDee are higher/above Dana and Daniela...so...WHEN EVER they wanted to "kidnap/grab" Daniela...they would rip her out of her mom's arms...although at first Dana DID fight to try and keep her baby...but...then DeeDee and Dolly would take it out on both mom and baby...even worse.
If mom tried to resist...DeeDee and Dolly would take turns biting Dana all over her body...so bad...that Dana also had many injuries...that even now... she has one permanent scar to her left eyebrow...courtesy of those two.
You'll notice that baby Daniela Is very emaciated, has muscle atrophy, hip dysplasia and very tiny for a baby... who at her death...was not quite 2 months old.
They very rarely let Daniela nurse from her mom Dana. Daniela's torment and torture was every day, all day long.
You'll see many many vile comments that say, baby girl got everything SHE DESERVED...that she whined all the time...that she was always on her own (thru no choice of her's) BECAUSE DeeDee would take her far away from mom. This made baby Daniela run one way, then run another way, always looking for her mom...so...to say she got everything she deserves...is in NO way true. She was drag up tree's, down tree's...over boulders, around boulders and everything in between.
This tiny defenseless baby girl was tortured/beaten/tormented/bitten/starved (almost from birth) and put thru so much pain...that it's a wonder she didn't die before the male killed her.
Baby Daniela had ABSOLUTELY no one from her troop, to step up to help/defend/protected or care about her...EXCEPT baby girl Maci.
You'll also see comments that will verbally abuse anyone who dares to say kind words about baby Daniela...and...they will also say that we're trying to humanize "filthy vermin".
Baby girl Daniela, during her first week of birth, had the cutest "mean mugging" face, ever.
I, for one, am thankful that this baby girl is no longer suffering the horrific torturous existence, that was her life.
RIP baby girl, there were many of us who loved you from far away.

To think because a baby is born to a lesser popular, or farther related outwards from the King and Queen, that your baby can be abused by the King and Queens' offspring to the point of death is bewildering to me! But yeah Nonna's Nursery it is true Daniella is no more! And here's the really f'ed up part it was that whole hierarchy deal I mentioned that thinks royalty(if there is such a thing)eats first and foremost and the peasants eat what's leftover! Poor Daniella was not being fed by mom enough so she was foraging for her meals. Some people had given her some fruit and intentionally kept the 'royalty' from getting it and this was the end results!!! They only had someone elses groups royalty offspring do their dirty work!!!!

I think he was expecting the monkey to be rescued after all of that because it says "rescue" in the title, not getting that the title is simply stating that it needs to be rescued, not that it actually was rescued. Daniela was an asshole and got what she deserved. She wouldn't follow troop rules, screamed constantly and was a pita.

OK, do you REALLY think there's a SINGLE other animal species in the entire WORLD that would just stand by and let another animal abuse and torture their baby? MOST mothers would behave very aggressively against someone mistreating their babies. In fact, even every other monkey species wouldn't stand for it. I've only ever seen such indifference with these longtails. Not even rhesus are this bad...
I recently read that long tails have replaced rhesus macaques as the monkey species of choice for biomedical research so at least there's that!!

@@msbigdog1460 I agree, it's not abuse. In fact, I would argue that this behavior happens a lot less often in these human-influenced groups than would happen in a natural setting. It has been documented in other monkey groups with less human interference that a higher-ranking monkey will steal an infant from a lower-ranking mother and keep it away from the mother to the point that the infant starves to death. It makes a little bit of face-sledding across rocks seem mild by comparison.
