I know, right?!!! I don’t normally watch Break Room, but when I clicked and saw Hector, Coy, and Brandon (sorry-I don’t know the other woman), I did a little happy dance in my head.
Great to see Coy and Hector in on these reviews. Literally 2 of the guys I specifically look for when they review superhero movies and content. And you can see why, they both have different views of the content but grounded in deep knowledge of the comics, and they can tell you that they enjoyed something but at the same time tell you where it falls short for them. I haven't seen Gina on anything before this, she brought a lot to the table and I'm definitely looking forward to more of her on the channel.
Absolutely! They both know their stuff, are overall positive in their reactions, and their love for the material shines. ( I just watched Coy watch Superman The Movie for the first time. I got to relive my childhood while watching his fantastic and often educational reactions!)
although most of hector’s opinions were less favorable than the others i like that he was able to back it up with strong arguments (with specific examples) as to why he felt the way he did. great seeing him on the panel for the discussion. also i agreed with about everything he said haha
He is always so positive on Heroes Reforged, which is one of the reasons I watch it. But here, Hector’s score was the lowest. I love that he set expectations for his opinion, contextualized it, talked through his points explaining why he didn’t like something, while also pointing out positive things that he did like. He expressed valid points without any toxic anger getting involved!
Except for Hector's "belt defense" lol Nothing is more ridiculous on a superhero's unitard, than a useless, decorative "belt" hahaha Batman's belt iis functional but a belt on a Kryptonian or a man that hit's the speed of light is not only useless but just pure nostalgia.
Its always great to see Hector on the show and he made a great point about the message of this movie. Literally every other time travel and multiverse movie has the opposite message of the Flash's "don't try to change the world for the better because you'll only make things worse"
Gina looking directly at the camera makes you feel like you are in the room with them instead of feeling like you are just part of an audience in a theatre is something we need more of... as well as her fresh energy 😌
I agree with Hector 100% on Barry's characterization. As someone who grew up with the animated Justice League Flash, I'm very disappointed. This Barry doesn't have to be cool, stylish, or funny, just not overly annoying. The one thing I cant stand. In terms of the lesson about changing the past. I dont have a problem with that. The fabric of time is a delicate tapestry. You have to move forward or keep running in circles.
I so fully loved what Gina and coy said about the message of the movie. One don't hold on too long and the other being maybe not everything can be changes but some things can be, and that matters more than anything.
THANK YOU HECTOR!! My major comic reading was post-crisis to early 2000s before I kind of lost touch with DC but somethings that Flashpoint spit on was that people had change The Flash's history before and The Flashes were always able to restore the proper history without it massively breaking the timeline. Flashpoint Paradox as the way it broke Flash Time Travel always bugged me. It was the first time that restoring the timeline to the way it should be would break said timeline and lead to the New 52. I'm probably one of the few that liked it being retconned that it wasn't him who screwed it all up.
Hector hit the nail on the head!!! The Flash is literally the anti-Spiderverse movie and directly contradicts everything it was trying to get across with its ending. The movie stress letting go and not changing the past which he still does in the end, so what was the point?!? Lol.
That guy with the glasses, is crazy, is a movie, why hate, the people work hard on this movie, appreciate that, oh man, everyone criticize movies shows this days, don't appreciate the work creator's build & witters, actor's etc...
I love Hector's takes. I actually enjoyed the movie more than him, but I really appreciate the detailed analysis. Love the conversation! Thank you for the great episode.
@@isuriadireja91 I love Coy but sometimes I think hes always in the room where theres not someone who has as much or more knowledge than him and that kinda turns me off to watching vids with him in it but love the watch alongs hes in
I agree with Hector for the most part. I'm also glad that he addressed the elephant in the rooom regarding Ezra Miller's abusive behaviors. I thought the same thing when the line about mental health was brought up. I watched the movie for Keaton because he my definitive Bruce Wayne/Batman. Surreal to see him back. I loved the cameos too, including the last one with Clooney haha. But I think the characterization with Barry was off, and I wish Supergirl and Keaton's Batman had different fates. I really hope they keep Sasha Calle as the character in the DCU. I loved the Supergirl show on CW and I think she's far more interesting of a character to me than Superman (as much as I love Superman).
I feel like I still would have had most of the same problems if Miller wasn’t someone who allegedly abused people, but I am being honest when I say their behavior didn’t help me love the movie more, unfortunately.
33:14 - Hold up. Did Coy just forget that Barry had to rewind time to ctrl+z an apocalyptic explosion in ZS JL? (Not a Snyder apologist, personally... but in the soundtrack, the music that plays during that scene is called "At The Speed Of Force".) It was a pretty good scene, and people didn't really expect it.

I love Batmans old tech, asking how much they weigh, pulling out the tape measure 😂🤣 haha I did have fun watching this but yeah I did hate Barry’s mates and nearly forgot they were in it
I didn't like the film, but here's what i did like. I liked how the film wasn't dark like a Batman film, i can see the actors in scenes and i like the blue and orange tone and how i can see the colors on Ezra. I like when supergirl saves the guy in the helicopter by slowly bringing it down to the ground just for the villain to smash through the helicopter killing the guy she just saved. I liked Ezra's acting and all the Batman were good, i liked superwoman in the final battle. Supporting actors did an amazing job.
Barry *wasn't heroic* at all.... he probably killed hundreds of thousands of people by *resetting* the timeline, including Batfleck who no longer exists ⚡⚡
THANKS for this!!! Helen Slater was a *great* Supergirl in a *terrible* movie. I, too, would have wanted to see more versions. I agree that "SpiderVerse" set a new bar.

I found 3 big flaws with the Flash
1. Why did Bruce bring an untrained, unarmed and depowered Barry to a Russian military base? Even in the Flashpoint book and animated movie, Bruce and Barry try to get Barry his powers back before looking for Kal.
2. Why did the Barry's and Bruce think that Kara could beat Zod one on one when she had at least a day less exposure to the Earths sun and no military training, as far as they know. Sending her in alone was a death sentence and they illustrated that in the movie several times.
3. When Barry accepted that his mother needed to die, why didn't he try to find out who the killer was or find evidence to prove his father's innocence? Moving the cans has more of an effect on the timeline than finding evidence or taking a photo/video of the murderer or even finding a witness.

I love Batmans old tech, asking how much they weigh, pulling out the tape measure 😂🤣 haha I did have fun watching this but yeah I did hate Barry’s mates and nearly forgot they were in it
Please give us Kevin smith's superman with nick Cage
Why couldn’t the Flash run🏃♂️like a normal person 🤷🏾♂️?
Brandon belongs in Arkham Asylum after all those fish puns 😂
1:08:33 I love this episode 😂👏🏽
Good review.
THANKS for this!!! Helen Slater was a *great* Supergirl in a *terrible* movie. I, too, would have wanted to see more versions. I agree that "SpiderVerse" set a new bar.
